I purchased a Groupon to try out Esperanca Salon, as it was quite close to work, and I was in search for a reliable salon I could go to regularly. The reviews online seemed promising. I made an appointment after work, and I arrived on time. First impression, it was clean and well kept. I had to wait about 15 minutes while the hairdresser (I think Gary) was finishing up with another client. It was fine, I was not in a rush. When it was my turn, Gary greeted me and he was a ball of energy. He mentioned it was a really busy day and he made himself an espresso (offered me one too) and began washing my hair. It seemed like he was in a rush and washed quite quickly. He consulted me on how I wanted to get it cut, and I explained, and showed him a couple quick examples. I just wanted some layers. He said that will be easy and started cutting my hair. He was quite speedy, which was concerning at first, but I was chatting with him the whole time and became distracted. Gary is a great conversationalist! After the cut, he round-brushed my hair and it had some curls. It looks nice and I was satisfied. He quickly cashed me out and went off to his next client. My entire appointment lasted about 40 minutes from washing to cashing out. So why the three stars? Today I straightened my hair and I think it looks ridiculous! Left side, top layers appear to be significantly shorter than the bottom layer; whereas the right side is blended pretty well. I am not happy with this. The experience at the salon was a solid 5 stars, but the cut... 1. I might still go back to them for a quick blow-out, but I am a little skeptical about getting my hair cut. In fact... I will have to be careful about rushed appointments in general. I want to recommend this salon, but I am torn. Please make sure you talk to them carefully about how you want your hair cut, and inspect it carefully after. read more

I went after having keratin treatment recommended to me, and by a stroke of luck I found Clyger and Co's advert on Kajiji. I did research, and they are the ONLY salon I found to have the ORIGINAL Brazilian Blowout keratin treatment in GTA. The bottle was right on the counter as I had my hair done, went home and looked it up afterwards and it was the real deal! Didn't burn my eyes at all, smells amazing, and my hair a month later looks AWESOME!! Gerti is excellent! He's incredibly thorough and thoughtful. Took care to comb the treatment meticulously through my frizzy damaged hair, root-to-tip, then took the time to blowdry then straighten with an iron. He was very knowledgeable and professional and really seemed to care about my hair, unlike many stylists who rush through the process. read more

I had very light and thin eyebrows, trying to draw in my eyebrows every morning and get them perfectly aligned was impossible. I finally took the plunge to get microblading done on my eyebrows, and I am very pleased with the result. Esperanca spa was professional and did a great job on my eyebrows, making them look natural for an afforable price. I love my new eyebrows and now I never need to draw them in again! Don't know why this place doesn't have a rating of 5 - I had the best service there yesterday! Not only is Gerti great at cutting hair, but he gave me the best hairstyle!! I frequently have to give a million pointers on how to style the hair at the front, and he did it so effortlessly! The spa is clean, and has a nice warm and welcoming atmosphere! My attendant Emily was very helpful and sweet! She definitely has knowledge on all the services there but also knowledge on how to maintain a great look with what you eat. I purchased a Groupon for their i-Lipo treatment, and was very unimpressed with the service and product. One main issue I had was that the woman measured my abdomen before beginning the treatment, and I noticed she held the measuring tape extremely loose around my body (with enough space to fit at least a hand in). Following the treatment, she held the measuring tape properly - snug to my body, and getting an accurate measurement. As a result she was able to tell me I had miraculously "lost 3 inches!" which was clearly untrue. I had measured myself before going to get the procedure done, and when I got home, and as I suspected, the measurements were the same. I do not appreciate her attempts at trickery. Following the procedure she advised that I eat healthy, and no carbs, exercise regularly, and drink lots of water and that in a few weeks to months I should see results. This struck me as ridiculous, as she described a diet and weight loss plan that would be effective without the iLipo treatment, and again, was an attempt at trickery into thinking the procedure actually works. Further, the band that was used to hold the lasers in place against my body did not look sanitary in the least. It was, simply put, an elasticated rag. It was dirty looking and extremely raggedy, and I did not feel comfortable with its use. Aside from these things, nothing was explained to me about the procedure, which I found to be quite irresponsible. Luckily, I had read up a ton on the procedure before arriving that I had no immediate questions for the employee. All in all: the service was lacklustre, they rely on slight of hand to trick patrons, and host a really ineffective product that is used alongside questionable tools (i.e. filthy rags). read more

I have been going to Esperanca for years now, this is the only place I will go to for hair & lashes!! My eyelash set is always full and beautiful, they last about 2 months with many remain plus 0 damage to my natural lashes!!! She is absolutely amazing, and very educated on what she is doing, plus the salon/spa is always clean with extremely friendly staff. I've had services done from lash extensions, microblading, hair color+ styling, and make up I have gotten perfect results every time, definitely never going anywhere else!!! read more

I was in a rush and needed an appointment on the go and they were good enough to squeeze me in. I got confused and ran late and they didn't make me feel like a monster. I did have to wait but worth every minute. The stylist was friendly smart and super talented. I left feeling beautiful and more informed. But I didn't realize how good my hair looked until every one I met said they want to know who did my hair. I would definitely recommend this place to my family and friends.
