Dan knows what he's doing, he's great with his tools, he returns phone calls promptly, and his rates are very reasonable. Who could ask for anything more from a handyman? However, there was already some confusion because I received a text message asking me if I had those pictures and videos that we spoke about. I said, " I sent them hours ago to the number I called you on earlier you didn't receive them"? He said, "No, please send them here if you can thank you" which was a different number than we originally spoke on. So I sent the videos and photos to that number he texted me from. He said, "thank you I will review and get back to you tomorrow, enjoy your evening". Then I was told that he was drafting up my estimate and he had a couple of questions so we spoke over the phone about whatever questions that he had to ask me and we ended up scheduling the appointment for him to come and do the work. He also emailed me the itemized bid. The day before the appointment I had to reschedule because my work schedule changed so I sent an email to him requesting for us to reschedule since we had exchanged a few emails back and forth leading up to this point since I had a few questions for him and regards to the estimate. I don't think he liked me questioning some of the things on the invoice because after my request to reschedule the appointment via email and text message I never heard back from him again. Mind you I had already provided a $100 deposit via venmo which was not refundable. I tried reaching out to him a total of three times but he never got back to me. He took my $100 for doing absolutely nothing in my home! I would not recommend this business to anyone.

At the end of their window they told me they wouldn't be able to make it as the technician had an emergency, so we rescheduled for the following Saturday. The following Saturday, I waited throughout the whole window, and they did not show or contact me letting me know. Supposedly the technician had another "emergency." So we rescheduled yet again for the next Saturday... (third Saturday in a row at this point), the tech came and stayed for 6 minutes, and told me he would come back and fix it at a later date. That later date was scheduled by their office manager, and wouldn't you know it, they did not show and didn't notify me again. Come to find out they were the company that originally did the "handy work" on the property I live in that I've had several issues with since moving in. If I were a property manager I would stay FAR away from this company, there's no way they're cheap enough to make the poor quality work and service worth it.

After removing the old fence, he left all of the debris--large pieces of the old fence and scraps--piled in my side yard instead of hauling them away or cleaning up the area. He returned a few days later to install a gate. When he finished, I went into the backyard and found that several of my bushes had been pulled out by the roots and left lying on the ground. He also left the section of fence he removed to install the gate simply lying in the yard. There was also an issue with the gate pricing. I was originally quoted $300 for the gate. When he arrived to install it, he showed me a Home Depot receipt for $279 just for the materials. When I asked about the difference, he didn't offer much explanation and simply said he would charge $100 for labor so we would be "close" to the original quote. What was most frustrating is that it would have been very easy for him to clean up after himself and communicate. A quick call from Home Depot to let me know the materials were going to cost more would have been appreciated. Overall, I felt like the job was done with minimal effort and attention to detail. I expect contractors to take pride in their work and leave the property in good condition, and unfortunately that didn't happen here.
