Look no further - WILLIAMS SERVICES is amazing!! I moved in in June and wanted to convert my fireplace, range and outdoor grill to gas. Gas was already running to the house. I had 6 quotes. 5 from plumbers. They all said they would have to destroy my finished basement (holes every 3 feet to run the gas lines) and the cost was around $6K. Just for running the lines. Then I talked to Tracy at Williams Services. She had cleaned my gas fireplace at my last house (excellent job and amazing expert). I didn't know her company could run gas lines too. She quoted me $3K (HALF OF ALL OTHERS) AND said "we can just run the lines outside, no need to ruin your finished basement." What?? She did a great job diagnosing the underlying problems and tracking down the hard to find parts for our older gas fireplace. It took two different visits but was only charged for one. This is the model for honest, courteous business practices and great work! I thought I needed a whole new fireplace insert and was ready and willing to go ahead with it... Instead they fixed mine at a fraction of the cost. Then, this year I called back to schedule a maintenance call when it wouldn't turn on and Tracy walked me through resetting the buttons over the phone (at no charge). Based upon a recommendation I called them to clean my gas fireplace and I was glad I did. Not only did Tracy do a great job cleaning it, she corrected some setup mistakes made by the original installer. She even went the extra mile to repair a bad electrical connection rather than replace an expensive valve. Her attention to detail and completeness is exceptional. Tracy is awesome! She fixed my problem on a bedroom fireplace that wouldn't light and cleaned and installed remote controls on two others that hadn't been serviced in a long time. The charge was much less than another outfit that I talked with. Plus she was able to do additional services in the same visit (only thought I would get the single lighting problem fixed). Tracy came out today to service our gas fireplace. She was knowledgeable and willing to share tips on caring for our fireplace. We thought we needed new logs as they were not very real looking. She properly positioned the logs and replaced the embers. We were happy to realize that they just needed adjustment. Like most of us, I waited to the last minute to call and see if I could get someone to look at my grill. The Lady that took my call explained she was booked up for a few days but would try to help me trouble shoot the problem. In the end, she actually told me how I could fix it myself and saved the cook out my wife requested for Mothers Day. A++ for responsiveness and helpfulness! My pilot light went out and wouldn't relight. I left a message with Williams Services to have the fireplace repaired. She called back and said they were booked for the next few weeks, but that she'd walk me thru some additional tricks on the phone that I could try myself. Trick #2 worked! Tried to get them to come out to service my gas fireplace. Although the technicians might have been fine, I never got that far. I got totally exhausted with the phone person who just kept insisting that my fireplace blew out when it was on (it didn't, the problem is that the pilot won't stay lit). The last straw was when the person got all upset about whether or not any other company had serviced the fireplace. Not sure that should matter, and as I tried to explain, not really. We had a technician deliver a new remote years ago because the store sold us the wrong one. While he was here, he installed it. That was literally years ago. No thanks. I recenltly use Williams to redo the valve on my gas fireplace. Someone else had installed it badly years ago and now that I'm selling my house, the inspector found the mistake. Williams was able to give me an estimate based on photos I emailed to them. They sent a repair person out within a week. The guy made the repairs and took some time to explain how the valve works and the best way to use it. I wanted to replace a gas log fireplace that was installed incorrectly by a prior owner, so I called Williams because of their reputation. I never got past the receptionist - she wanted to tell me everything she thought I should do to fix the problem and wouldn't accept that I've been dealing with this for three winters and just wanted to replace it.
