I reached out to Chimpro to compare estimates and I am so happy I did. Paul was extremely responsive throughout the entire process. He provided me with a quote over the phone based on flue size and some pictures, sent a team to provide a free inspection regardless of whether I went with them in the end or not. After the inspection, he stayed true to the price he quoted me over the phone with a very generous discount. In the end the quote was significantly less than the other company, and included more work to be done. His team was very professional and trustworthy, and efficient, working around my schedule. There was also a mixup with the equipment supplier, who was a few hours late delivering the equipment, and Paul requested a rebate from them due to the mixup and passed the savings directly on to me. The person on the phone told me it was their busy season and he didn't want to come out to look at my chimney so he asked that I send him pictures over the phone and he'd provide a quote. I thought it was weird and not the best customer service but climbed up my roof and took photos and sent them. No one has contacted me since. It only takes a few seconds to text response or acknowledgement. These people must be doing very well but I have found their initial customer service is lacking. read more

All work was conducted from the fireplace in the living room. He did not need to go on the roof. THE BEST! Highly recommend you using them for all your chimney needs. Paul was very knowledgeable and talked me through the whole process on the phone when I made my appointment. He gave me all the options but did not force any services on me. When he arrived both him and his assistant were very courteous and you could tell they cared about treating my home with respect. They explained each step along the way and even asked if I wanted to look at the cleaning process as he moved through them. Turned out my chimney was very dirty and required some extra cleaning but he still honored his initial price. Like I said he was very careful with my house and our belongings. Making sure they did not ruin or make something dirty, which I was initially concerned about with all the dust/soot. The final product was cleaned very throughly. He vacuumed up all the soot. Filled in all the exposed joints and re-painted those areas with black paint. Then picked up all his drop cloths and wiped down the entire area before he left. In short, Paul was excellent and exceeded all my expectations. I never felt pressured into any extra services, which I feel like is common with service calls nowadays. Our super high townhouse chimney had a huge black stain. Paul explained that there are likely damage and cracks in the crown which allowed water to seep in and grow the mildew stain down the side. He offered to rebuild the crown and also the first two courses of brickwork that were loose. We recently moved into a new home and the fireplace panel is slightly cracked. We wanted to have someone come out and look at it to see if it needed replacement. I have heard that one needs to be careful when dealing with some fireplace companies as they will try to upsell consumers who know little about fireplaces (me). Sure enough, I was told upon my first call to a company that 1.) I'd have to schedule someone to come out and inspect the fire place before they would perform any work which would cost me more than $150, that no they could not replace the panel on that visit and that would have be done separately, and no they could not give me a general estimate until they come (and I pay them). This company has STELLAR reviews so I thought maybe this was just industry practice... But, I luckily contacted Chimpro to see if they were operating a similar procedure. They weren't. Paul was incredibly transparent, asked me to send him a pic to save him having to come out (which would have still cost significantly less than the first company). He then gave me a general estimate on the cost of work should I need it and told me he could do it all in one visit. I sent a pic and he advised me very quickly that it did not need to be replaced and about what I can do to help my panel. He also discussed other recommendations as first-time chimney owners for well over 20 minutes.
