Much to our surprise, they were able to squeeze us into their schedule to have it installed before Thanksgiving! Dan and his crew professionally installed a new gas line/pipe and dedicated electric circuit inside our house for the new insert and arranged with the Town inspector to obtain permits and inspection. All went exceptionally well. Dan is incredibly knowledgeable about home construction and the gas fireplace products and business. On a scale of 1-10, I rate him a 10 on customer service. With the snowstorm on Jan. 25, 2026, we tested the manual turn on using batteries in case the power goes out. After the test, the fireplace would not turn back on, so I emailed him on a Sunday morning to see if there was a trouble shoot for this problem. Immediately, he phoned me, and within 5-10 minutes, we started the fireplace with his over the phone directions!! Wow, we were so pleasantly surprised and very much appreciative of his support!! Instead my logs keep cutting in and out. The problem is that I get work done off season. So by the time I use the fireplace, I'm outside their warranty. Today I emailed them to see what could be done to solve my problems and was told that parts are hard to come by due to the age of the logs, and that a new valve assembly would be $1,000. Jumped on the internet and found the valve readily available at less than $200. So, don't confuse friendly with effective. Everyone in the company is super nice, but I have spent roughly $1000 with this company and still have the same problem. Oh, and I did tell the installer last time right after he replaced the valve that it had cut out, and he said it was probably because it was new. I am not going to use them again.

I put a bid on Home Depot (rookie mistake) and had 2 contractors say I needed a cap that could be installed for $900. That didn't seem thorough so I called evolution chimney. They had a young man and his partner came out and they went in the basement and to the roof and told me all the work I needed done. They had to add a new and wide liner, fix the deteriorating staccato, ensured that there was no chance of carbon monoxide and of course the cap. It was well worth the investment. The first appointment I had there was a scheduling mishap so the woman that took my call offered to deploy an emergency weekend team but I opted to reschedule for the next week. The work was done in a few hours. I was worried about squirrels still getting into the attic so I put a metal trap up there but nothing has been in the attic since and no water seems to be coming through the wall. Highly recommend.
