Almost three stars. Almost. There are good things about this store, but several experiences have made me a little crazy. Their monthly artisan markets are fun; free samples of the products, most of which don't have their own store or shelves in other stores. They are also usually cooking something by the registers any day, so you can usually try a food product or recipe of theirs. And, if you are looking for some kind of gadget, they likely have it, and in the high-end version, if that's what you seek. I signed up for one of the free cooking classes. The class itself was great (ravioli making) and the chef who lead it had a lot of great information about techniques and gadgets. However, it's right by the register, and can get crowded. It's too bad they don't have a separate space for classes. Perhaps the paid classes are better? I was also a little bitter because when I called the day before to ask what time the class was (when I signed up they took my name and e-mail, but didn't give or send me any information), they told me an hour before it started, which is before WS or any store in Highland Village is open. We did get a nice printout of the recipes and got to do some hands-on work if we desired. Here's my main gripe: they never seem to know or understand what promotions are going on. WS is pricey, and so I tend to check out things on sale. Today, I had to clue the cashier in on a free-with-purchase deal. That wasn't too bad. However, it reminded me of a previous experience here which made me want to pull my hair out. They had a promotion (posted all around the store) X% off of sale and clearance items. Yay! So I bought 6 or 7 things from the clearance section, excited for the deal. When I went to the register, I saw the prices ringing up and inquired about the X% off. He sounded annoyed and said it rings up with the sale price. When I got the final total, I knew it was wrong, asked politely again, and he assured me the final prices were true. I bought the items, checked out my receipt, the prices on my items, and the signage around the store. I had not received the promotion. So, I went back in line, and got a different cashier, and explained the situation. It seemed like all was well, but when the total came in, it was still much higher than I anticipated. She was frustrated, and told me what she did to ring the items up. I acquiesced. I was tired and wanted to go home, so I did. Checked out the receipt - she had taken X% off 1 item...but not the others. SIGH. Later that week, I went back in, explained my situation to the cashier at the time, feeling embarrassed at now having two receipts and asking a third time for my discount. Thankfully, she was great, understood, and re-rang up my purchases with their proper discount. Finally, I had received the awesome deal I had hoped for, and a cashier who knew what she was doing. I realize they sell a million things, but it is a somewhat small store, so I wish I didn't have to go to such lengths to firstly inform the cashiers of the sales (can't this be programmed in?), and further make sure they apply them correctly. One thing I do really appreciate WS for - they have a bathroom and drinking fountains! read more

So I normally love this store. With all of the amazing kitchen gadgets and cooking utensils it's one of my favorite kinds of places to shop. But this past weekend my husband and I went to the store to return something. He had told me previously that when he went in that the woman who helped him didn't actually help him so much as just go get the item and then check him out. He even told her that it was a birthday gift and she proceeded to give him the gift wrap instead of offering to wrap it for him (um hello he's a man... he doesn't know how to gift wrap!). So we walk inside the store and are greeted almost right away. So I figured it was an off day that last time he went in. But no. We walk up to the counter to return the item, and although we were helped quickly, she didn't really talk to us or seemed like she had a personality at all. The rest of the employees were fine I guess, but we walked around that store for about another 30 min. and only had 1 sales person walk up to us! I was interested in a couple of things and looked around a few times to find a sales person and no one was around to help. Okay, they might have had a short staff that day or all of them were suffering from Saturday malaise, but I was just so disappointed in the staff at this location. Luckily, like I wrote earlier, I love this store and will go back... but it's on probation. read more

Where do I begin?! Williams Sonoma Highland Village is my happy place! As soon as I step foot in the store, I am quickly greeted by multiple staff members asking if I need help or assistance. If something is not on the floor, they are always happy to order it for me or see if it is available at another store. The staff at WS highland village goes above and beyond to suit its customers. The last time I was in the store (about 30 minutes before closing) a store employee was demonstrating to a newly wed couple on different cutting boards and knives..even got out some vegetables to cut so they could try! Not to mention, the samples are ALWAYS tasty!! Love my Williams Sonoma family! read more

I don't like to cook, so I don't even know why I go to this store! The merchandising is exceptional, the smells delicious, the friendly staff couldn't be more helpful, the latest gadgets and upscale cookware -- it's a dream! HOWEVER, there is an employee who feels being supercilious towards customers, being the guardian of free coffee drinks, and acting haughty and not really friendly creates an upscale atmosphere. REALLY? Vet your employees. HIre a mystery shopper. Make this a 5-star store. read more

Great Staff! Everybody here is so nice and helpful. Went in the other day and one the employees is was there to answer all of our questions immediately. We were looking for stuff for an easter party, and she showed us all kind of neat stuff and ideas. Just a great way to add to the wonderful products they also add! read more

The GM and manager on 10/14/2016 were extremely passive-aggressive; their systems went down, they initially refused to do a void when they screwed up and then after I called 866-224-4598 they complied. Really distasteful experience and wasted my afternoon. read more

Very nice store... But not sure I will not be buying anything here. The staff is helpful when asked but not very friendly. They were barely polite ... Of course they didn't know I am in the market to buy an espresso machine... Maybe that's why they didn't attend to me. Nevertheless... They were indifferent to my wife as well. read more

Let's just start by saying that I am not a cook nor do I really even know my way around a kitchen. So going into a place like Williams Sonoma was a little intimidating. I was wanting to make a special dinner for mine and my husband's upcoming anniversary. I went in south some specific recipes in mind and needed done tools of the trade to get this accomplished. I greeted by an associate named Stephanie and she made the while process do quick and easy. She was able to not only direct me to the items that I needed but also knowledgably explain to me how to use them for the recipes that I had selected. She gave me some great pointers and took her time with her explanations and really cared about my confidence level when I went to use the products at home. After she got me all checked out I asked her if I could speak to her manager to let them know and thank them for the experience she gave me. She told me that she was one of the managers there and that all the thanks she needed was just to come back and tell her how the dinner went and to just come back and shop again in the future. Over the last few years I have spent thousands of dollars at Williams Sonoma. Part of the reason is great products, but also the great customer service. About six years ago, my husband and I received a Cole and Mason salt and pepper mill as a gift. About six months ago, the pepper mill went out. I love this pepper mill and went and purchased another as I use them both almost every day. A month or so the pepper mill went out. Today I took the time to go back to Williams Sonoma to see what could be done. Turns out, nothing. I spoke with a lady who politely told me that since I didn't have my receipt (she didn't ask me if I had my receipt), nothing could be done and by the way "these products were not meant to last a lifetime" and perhaps I should check with the manufacturer. I thanked her for her time and left. Had she bothered to act like she remotely wanted to help me, I probably would have purchased another one on the spot, but all she told me is that "nothing could be done". Note to shoppers, Keep your receipts!! read more

Got there at 5 minutes before closing and the door was locked. Had gone out of my way to visit. Literally had to make a one minute purchase. Highly recommend closing at 6:00pm when you say you are going to close. read more

What a disappointment! Went in to check out electric egg cookers. Of course I could just order one of off Amazon but I wanted to see a few in person and was willing to pay the brick and mortar premium. Walked in to a half under construction zone living room setting. 3 men were behind the counter and no one approached me to offer help. Finally someone on the phone noticed me and asked me to wait until he was off the phone. Then another young man appeared out of nowhere and asked how he could help me "darling." I asked about the egg cookers and he had nothing on the floor besides and Instant Pot (which of course I already own from Kohl's). He called upstairs somewhere and they could bring down 1 Breville, which was already out of the box, but he could order me one. I told me him no thanks (I can order my own from Amazon). Then I asked him if the construction was to turn this place into a Williams Sonoma Home. He game me some dumb answer about showing more furniture and walked away. This store used to be a wonderful place to get my gourmet foodie fix. But now that they'll be pushing their home line, have uninformed staff, and have limited inventory I'll have to stick with Sur la Table. With DWR and Restoration Hardware next door and Pottery Barn and Mitchell Gold across the street, how does WS Home hope to compete?? read more

Went to register for my wedding today, worst experience I had yet. They were very unhelpful, and when asking them how to register all they said was "download the app". Also, their employees have no idea how to use the app and actually assist in the process. They definitely did not try to make it a happy occasion. I will most definitely not be back. read more

let me tell you why i love williams sonoma. out of the countless locations i have visited in different cities, i always know what to expect. yes, they may be pricey, but i feel confident that i will always be able to find any cooking gadget/cookbook/luxury gift that i need to locate. their products will also last for many years and are not succeptable to the wear-and-tear you may experience with other brands. love it. read more

Worse customer service ever. Will never buy from this store ever again! They sold me a broken item that was a return (sold as new item) Once I get home I realize the box had been opened before. And the item is broken inside. I call the store to let them know and they tell me they will save one from their stock until I can return to make the exchange and that the manager will call me. The manager never called me. They did not save one for us to make the exchange Yet we had to make the trip again to the store just for that! 120miles total wasted on the two trips! Waste of our time. So they offer to order the item online. There is a sale going on now offering 20% off. (Which they did not tell us about, I had received emails about it) They tell us the sale does not work on that item because the item is backordered. After we order online in the store (less the 20%), I check online and the sale works!!! Now back to the store 15minutes later to cancel the order with them and they tell us we cannot cancel because the item is shipping??? ( the item is backordered for another 15 Days!!!!) read more

Worst customer service. They won't take a spatula back due to wear but i only used it for 2days and i have the receipt. They don't honor their policy. Your better off with crate and barrel or sur la table. read more

Williams Sonoma and most specifically at the Town and Country store, most of the employees are "part time" and the majority of them are housewives who only want to work 1/2 day here and 1/2 day there to receive the employees discount. So, based upon the demographics, the population in the area is financially pretty well off, and it reflects in the ladies employed at the store. Several of them, tend to walk around the store with their noses way up in the air with the attitude that working at WS gives them a status (the same phenomena applies to the sales persons at Neiman Marcus) I have had to bring back down to reality a couple of them because I just can't stand them. They work there because they are too cheap to pay full price and then proceed to kill you with arrogance and their condescending mannerism. William Sonoma should not allow this to happen, and I hope that they lose more and more customers to Sur La Table, where the sales persons are a lot more down to earth. read more

I was very disappointed in the service today. Although our shopping experience had a good start, the cashiers at the end left a bad taste in my mouth. My mom and I spoke with the worker who was showcasing the Philips grill that was on sale. He said it was $180, and we decided to buy one for my dad as a Christmas present. When we went to check out, it rang up for $240. We asked if this was the correct price as we had been told otherwise, and the cashiers could not have been more rude. They replied in a way that suggested that my mother and I were making this price up ourselves as an attempt to get a deal. At least that's the only rational explanation I can come up with for why any store would treat their customers that way. We still bought the grill and purchased over $300 worth of goods, because at that point we just wanted to leave. We have been longtime customers of WS, but we plan on going somewhere where employees have manners in the future. At the end of the day, we are the customers. read more

I was referred by the online customer service rep.,in an effort to secure a Breville sous chef food processor.(16 cup) Well it turned out they had the best price. The range of price online was $349.00-$1100.00. The $1100.00 was offered by one of the vendors on Amazon. The Highland Village Store had a fantastic price. A young lady by the name of Stephanie was great. The whole transaction took about 10 mins. and I received by processor in a day and a half. No problems what so ever. I would definitely shop there again. read more
