This is one of my favorite stores in the shopping center. It always has a great selection of home and kitchen goods. They almost always have a sample of one of their products. The day I went in they were making scrambled eggs. Not sure why. Maybe to demonstrate a nonstick pan. I didn't feel like eating scrambled eggs, but it's Fall, and they had made a loaf of their pumpkin bread. It was yummy. It's a great store to shop for stocking stuffers. If you go to this location, make sure to get help from Aspen or Lisa M. Those two are the brightest and kindest souls in the store. The same can not be said about the other employees. I am not sure why the store employees are so rude - maybe age discrimination or maybe race discrimination. There were many other shoppers in the store who received warm greetings and consistent service. While the people around me were being acknowledged, I was being ignored. I was in the store for a while before I was finally greeted by Aspen and asked if I needed assistance. After shopping around, Lisa provided additional assistance. I could go on about what went wrong in this shopping experience - the gossiping among employees and the lack of customer service given at the register. As a 22-year resident of Northern California, I have never made an accusation like this toward a business; this is how confident I am that there's something wrong with the staff at this store. I have been to this location six times in the past year after moving to Carmel, and despite being heavily staffed with stationed greeters at the door each time, not once has anyone said "hello" to me or acknowledged me in any way (other than at the register, when they're ringing me up). Also every time, I've noticed they said "hello" to the customers who came in before and after me. The only difference between me and the six people who came in before/after me is my race. I am not white. Further, when I've exited the store with my purchase, no one (standing by the door, engaged in nothing) has said "thank you" or "goodbye." And this last time, two staff members were in conversation with each other blocking the exit, and I had to ask to go around them; they did not move or acknowledge me in any way. I'm sure (or hopeful) this is not an intentional bias, but the fact that this has happened on all of my visits to this particular location is glaring. Ever since I worked as a cook in college, I have really loved professional grade kitchen equipment. My first pan was a huge aluminum Design Research frying pan, since I figured I could always cook more in a big pan!! I know that whatever goes in the kitchen is going to get a lot of use, so I look for quality and durability! Products from Williams Sonoma definitely fill that bill. We got our toaster at the Primm, Nevada store and it has stood the test of time, adding wit to the counter with its trendy retro design! There is something very comforting about wandering the aisles of culinary products and contemplating feasts to come! I have been on the receiving end of many of the food items, and enjoyed every one. My wife and I went to look at a coffee maker and started a conversation with an employee, Dina. We made small talk about a variety of things and ultimately brought up an event where we met a political figure. As soon as this was brought up, she commented that she is a "Newsom girl" and we shouldn't talk anymore and then promptly walked away from us. From a customer service point, this behavior is actually ridiculous. This employee couldn't maintain her professionalism and composure to customers while she was at work! Staff was incredibly rude and unprofessional. Went in looking for a father day gift and the man seemed more then uninterested in helping me. He followed me around the store offering me items I said my dad already had and that were extremely out my price limit. Came back and Carla was more then helpful! She was so kind and wonderful. When I was ready to check out the main lady cashier and the man from before just stand there before helping me. What a fabulous store this is. And the staff members are all so friendly and well trained about their products. Nothing but the best is found here. The Kitchen Aid mixers are top tier for sure. And they can get you any color you choose. This store also has a great collection af Kitchen Aid accessories for the mixers. I was looking for a Belgian Waffle maker. Was good to see they carry the ALL CLAD waffle makers. Not just the Belgian waffle maker, but the round waffle maker too. I've reviewed all the reviews from customers that went to this store located in Del Monte Center, Monterey, CA I did notice that basically the customers gave the 1 star - 3 stars because of very poor attitudes, very arrogant, zero professionalism attitudes, stuck-up words/stiff words, very rude/often being short on any customers for other questions requests/other helps requests in this store in Monterey & poor accommodating service skills types of customer service peoples/the peoples works in this store in Monterey area! They forgot that their paychecks are BASICALLY COMING FROM YOU ALL AS THEIR FREQUENT CUSTOMERS AND THEIR NON-FREQUENT CUSTOMERS! In these currents years - So many bad qualities & bad reputations are happening with this Williams-Sonoma corporations' ends starting from point 1 - those poor customers service qualities to point 2 - those low qualifies of products purchasing qualities (they are not skilled enough/not qualified enough to manage the timing of products delivering time to meet customers' expectations) and to point 3 - those vendors' selections & those facilities of their warehouse's service qualities that the Williams Sonoma corporations are being contracted with! And, point 4 - those Slacking off for maintaining their local & international vendors'/manufacturers' quality skills, quality experiences, quality commitments and quality professionalism! I actually have more to open up to you all out there! Some or many of you probably already knew and some/many of you probably not aware of/not knowing of this Williams-Sonoma's current reputations are going down! I knew and bought products from Pottery Barn and Williams-Sonoma multi times for many years. I knew their products lines and qualities for many years ago until current years. Basically the primary problems are coming from those peoples who involve/who work for Pottery Barn/Williams-Sonoma & any vendors that being paid by Pottery Barn/Williams-Sonoma corporation! Currently, I ordered bunch of stuffs from Pottery Barn and Williams-Sonoma for over $50K for home furnitures and home decors. But I had been thru the hell nightmares with their bunch of slacking, their inconsistencies, their carelessnesses and their poor commitments! I had dealt 1 problem after another toward to the latest delivered items - the flakiness of the arrival date of several furnitures (made and shipped from France and other foreign country). Next there were multiple damages condition of my arm chair & multiple home decors thru UPS (they were sent from PB warehouse in Tracy) & area rug thru white glove service! Next, the sizes of the outdoor dining cushions' were wrong/too small! Next one - the nightstands' color was off the color was not matched with the wood sample's color I see in the store in person in Monterey! And it was just several days ago; I called Williams-Sonoma store in Monterey & I talked to the store's manager named sabrina. I was making the claim about 1 of bunch of items I bought about 1 - 2 months ago. But this 1 particular item the paper towel holder made from the real marble (that was they said to me). It was pretty pricey paper towel's holder. It is nice one and I thought it must good quality and stylish. But the holder part of this item is loose and it finally came off! So I was on the phone with this store's manager - I was explaining about this broken item briefly and clearly that the holder just came loose somehow. Then I explained to her/that store manager it looked like the maker did not install the holder to the base properly. Then I told her I bought it a little while ago I did not expect the quality of it is terrible! I was expecting to less a lot longer especially I paid for its quality! Then this person the store manager named sabrina started giving me her rude attitude & not friendly/not professional tone by asking me with her short not friendly tone "You have the receipt of it?! You have to have the receipt in order to return it! Well duh....! Of course I am aware of it that I get to provide the receipt for returning the items! I usually not returning the items when I bought it! I only return the item(s) when the item(s) are broken (where they confirmed their items are strong and good quality ! ) and when the item(s) are off/not matched with the fabric's and wood's samples! Also when the seller/the store is not committing with what they promised to their customers and so other elements that are going wrong ! ). I am very disappointed that Williams-Sonoma's reputations & customers services qualities are not as good as some years ago like 8-10 years ago! Shitty service. I received an email saying my online order was ready for pick up. The staff checks it and asks me if i received a call when i just showed her a confirmation email. She then says that they don't get deliveries on Wednesday! Like ,"Lady, am i supposed to know that?!?" I told her i was going by the email. All she could say was sorry. I had a good experience here today. My wife and I came by looking for salt and pepper shakers, of all things. We found some and we also found some other table accoutrements for our short term rental building. What a disappointment. My husband and I walked into William Sonoma carrying a closed bottle of soda and a paper bag of See's chocolates from the neighboring store. We browsed for a moment and picked up a $75 item that interested us. We called over an employee to confirm the price because it was on the sales rack, and what was the first thing she said? "You can't have food in here, it might spill. Please take it outside." Are you kidding? We were about to drop a large sum of money and instead were asked to leave. For a store that offers expensive specially items and clearly caters to a weighted demographic, maybe spend time on customer service? Customers are also paying for the experience as well as product. Staff are very lackluster in their bedside manner and offering resolution. Heard many short answers of "sorry sir/maam" while browsing. Very short in the patience department. One woman refused to offer me an alternative solution to the chip insertion malfunction, "sorry maam" (insert eye roll). Walked out empty handed, your loss. This is a well managed store. The inventory is beautifully displayed and organized. The store manager (Sabrina) is a delightful person who seems to know a good deal about cooking and food. I have also found each of the employees to be extremely helpful and customer service oriented. What is especially evident here is the "vibe" customers seem to feel walking in. They are individually greeted and employees seem to genuinely enjoy being on the floor interacting with their customers. I'm sure Chuck Williams would have been delighted. read more

I went into the Williams Sonoma Store this afternoon, April 1, in Monterey, CA. I was paying for some items when a younger woman said, after finishing the transaction, "There you go, young lady." I am a senior citizen with gray hair. I told her that I did not appreciate being addressed like that. She said, well, my grandmother told me to call women that until they are 90 years old. I asked her if she would do that even if a customer indicated that she did not want to be patronized or treated dismissively. She then said something to another about using the term "young lady", employee, who seemed to be in charge. This woman turned around, looked at my face and burst out laughing. There were other customers in the store. I was so angry at this point that my suggestion they not be so patronizing was now a store joke, shared with other customers. I told them I will not be shopping at this store any longer. This is really a disgusting way to treat older people. read more

Everything in there is beyond over priced, one can easily find any of the offered items for waaaay less online or even in a different home decor store. OMG IT OPENED! So it official opened a few months ago but I finally went in and had a looksy. ME LIKEY A LOTS! Bigger than your usual Williams-Sonoma and I was giddy. My eyes sparkled as I saw all of the machines, the cookbooks, the pots and pans.... and MY ICE CREAM MAKER. After a month of casually looking on the internet... I saw our baby... They sell a Cuisine Art Ice Cream maker for 60.00-- at an original/ suggested retail value of 120.00. It is a gem! You can an extra bowl so you can make two back to back batches... The woman who helped us out was super nice and made sure we understood the product etc. There was a demonstration going on of some type of blueberry bread that looked and smelled amazing. I could have spent an hour in there but dad and brother were waiting so we could go to CPK. This place is definitely a place you want to take your time with... caress and then make sweet and endearing.... um..... delectable goodies? Mara and Cindi I saw the Sprinkles cuppie mixes that they sell and thought of you both! (But your cuppies are a million times better!) That is another thing.. there website has some crazy food items you can buy WTF is up with 7.50 dollar cuppies? HOLY #@#t! If I order them directly from the store and drive all the way up to Napa do they still cost that much? ...They have impressive Tapas and Appetizer things for sale but holy hell they are pricey! read more

I love the quality of the products sold here. I just bought a set of cooking utensils, and they are great. For the most part the staff was helpful in helping me find what I wanted. When I went to check out, the same associate who helped me find the utensils I was purchasing, was kicked off the register by another associate. Her name is Amelia and she was by far the rudest person I have encountered in customer service. She basically spoke to me as if I couldn't afford my purchase. She asked if I was buying with credit and when I told her no, I'm using my debit card, she scoffed and rolled her eyes at me. Amelia also spoke rudely to her colleague and pretty much chased him away so that she could ring me up. It seemed like she was almost in a rush to get me out of the store just so she could help another person who was already being helped by a different WS associate. I felt very discriminated against and if I could give this review zero stars I would. This is with the exception of the other WS employee who was very helpful and nice, and was the only reason why my experience there wasn't complete trash. read more

The selection of equipment available is impressive, the staff are always on hand to help demo things, and the samples are yummy! There is always a friendly vibe going on in the store and okay, so you may need to say hello to one of the staff rather than stand around angrily and expect people to know that means you are approachable, but they always know what is there and check for you, doing the most to help you find what you are after. They have a small home section in the back of the store too. What I found here was that the staff have more knowledge of what may suit my needs than I did and when things aren't on display they'd have a look for me. From le creuset to fortnum and mason selection, not they are not the cheapest place to shop, because they are the quality place to shop. By all means these products become heirlooms they last so long, everyone in Europe knows it and they are solid staple in anyone's home. read more

I love Williams Sonoma and this location is no exception. It's smaller than other stores I've visited, but it's also in Monterey which is a lovely, smaller town. Everything is expensive as expected, but the pieces are quality. Much better quality than you would find at Macy's or World Market. I absolutely love their semi annual sales! There is always at least one great bargain to be found. It may be something you don't absolutely need, but if the savings are good enough, tempted to buy. Their spices and rubs are wonderful. The smoky rub is my go to seasoning for pork. They sell other food products online. I have tried a couple on occasion and while the quality of their food products is very good, it is hard to justify the high prices charged for those when I can get something comparable locally. So happy to have this store close by when I am home visiting. It's in a very convenient location and I have always had good luck with service from the associates in the shop. Definitely a fan and I will visit again. read more

It is not a joke when you can't pronounce the names of your own products. Even though I like All-Clad best and think Calphalon is crap made in China, I know it's pronounced "Cal-fa-lon" This store has its ups and downs: Plus: They sell Staub cast iron pots! Glory hallelujah. Plus: Their knife selection is awesome. Shun rocks. Plus: The Perfex "Office" pepper grinder. Oh yeah. Minus: Sales staff talks to you and then wanders off. Er... wasn't somebody just helping me? Minus: OMG the prices are terrible. When Williams-Sonoma has a sale it brings the merchandise down to normal-price at Macy's. Minus: Standing at the cash register waiting for acknowledgment. Er... would anybody like to take my money today? All in all, I would come here and check out the cool stuff. Then I would search for the same thing online and get it for cheaper. This store is nowhere near as good as the store at Stanford Shopping Center. I chalk it up to inexperienced management. Williams Sonoma could be so much better, but the staff is not getting trained the way they need to be. Or supervised for that matter. read more

Like Pottery Barn so commercial. However they do offer some great products if you like cooking or baking. They have everything and then some. I love the wall of Italian Style pots and pans, you know the ones I am talking about, cooper that have marks on them like they have been beaten by a hammer repetitively (Ruffoni) and the Le Creuset French collection so chic. They have juicers for your fresh juice cocktails (not the old vintage kind that I want though), Madeline shaped bakeware etc... If you can think of it, they will most likely have it. Willams Sonoma offers cooking demos there and at times have stuff out that you can try. My Mom said she went in there and tried the spice apple cider. She said she spent like $60 just buying the spices and a couple other things just to replicate it at home. Nuts! But I tried it and it was worth it. read more

This location is on the smaller side. Everything is ridiculously expensive and almost nothing is on sale/clearance, like every Williams Sonoma. They did stock this location with pretty cool things, like the stainless/copper Cuisinart mixer. It was gorgeous and I fell in love instantly. It has a convenient location within this mall and the staff is usually pretty nice although stand-offish. I walked away with the only thing I could afford at the time: some delicious smelling hand soap. read more

I purchased an Instant Pot from this store. I had great service from Sabrina, the Assistant Manager. She put the pot on 24 hour hold for me. I came and purchased the item that evening. When I got home and opened the box, the inner pot was damaged. I called the store and spoke with Sabrina. I told her about the damage to the pot. I told her it would be hard for me to get back to the store as I am working longer hours during the holidays. She made arrangements for me to exchange the pot without driving to the store. I was thrilled. She is so customer oriented! I am so pleased with my purchase and will be back to the store again! 5 Star Service!Thank you Sabrina and Williams Sonoma Monterey! read more

My mom and I went to this William Sonoma to buy a pizza pan and a rolling pin for our new house. The staff was very friendly and helpful, they quickly found what we needed and got us rung up asap, which was pretty nice because we were having dinner late. Two people helped us, one girl, maybe about early twenties, strawberry-blonde hair, and a guy, mid twenties, beard, dark curly/frizzy hair. Didn't catch their names, but they were very nice to me and my younger sisters. My sisters loved all of the little samples that were scattered around the checkout station. My mom had lost her credit card and drivers license earlier that evening, needless to say she wasn't exactly in a good mood, but the staff was very kind about it! They let us(me and my sisters) stay inside the store while my mom went to her car to grab her auxiliary credit card.
