Ordered a regular cheese burger, gave me large cost way too much for zero flavor, unless you call the missing onions but 7 pickles flavor. wasn't sure if it had cheese but there was something yellow on it, may have been the mustard not sure. Would not recommend this place to anyone. The food tasted extremely cheap, like it was thrown together with the lowest quality ingredients possible. Nothing had flavor, and what did taste was just off. The water was honestly worse straight up tasted like chlorine, like drinking from a pool. Got to hand it to folks that focus on what they got. Took my aunt who is a life long resident to Willies for lunch. She had never been there but had heard good things. Both burgers were great as were the curly fries. My aunt's chili burger was perfect, just enough chili to make a mess but still easy enough for her to eat. I had the hot link burger, nice and spicy and really good. The two folks running the place were as everyone says, very friendly and helpful. I especially appreciated being warned about how spicy the BBQ sauce was on my hot link burger and her suggestion to put it on the side, so perfect. I hope locals will continue to support this place, as they do a fantastic job with their food and service. I would be a regular myself if I didn't live 120 miles away... read more

Just had a fabulous meal at Willie's Place! Before we even finished our meals we had decided we would come back tomorrow to try more items on the menu. Unfortunately for us, tomorrow is Saturday and they are not open on weekends. The sweet couple have plans for family fun on the weekends and I commend them for that. Our party tried ribs, brisket and 3 different burgers. All 5 of us commented that our meals were among the best we have ever had. I personally had the ribs, fried okra and potato salad. The ribs were perfectly cooked...fall off the bone tender, juicy and perfectly flavorful. I did not even use the barbecue sauce included with my meal as there was absolutely no need to add any flavor to the meat. The fried okra is what my heart needed...fresh sliced okra fried exactly as my born-in-Texas mom always cooked it. Delicious! The potato salad was also so yummy. My husband had the Bottle Cap burger and tater tots. The "bottle caps" are fried jalapeños and this day, the jalapeños were fried strips instead of the little round slices. He raved about the burger; he could not remember the last time he had a burger that good. The tots were perfectly cooked, crunchy on the outside and oh so tasty. Another in the party had the combo rib and brisket plate. His review of the ribs matched mine and he said the brisket was absolutely melt in the mouth. My husband had a taste and had decided that was what he was having when we go back tomorrow. He was so disappointed to find out it was not to be. The other two burgers (bacon cheeseburger and mushroom burger) got the same outstanding reviews from the other diners in our group. We are on a road trip from Oregon to Nashville and will be moving on before they open for business again on Monday but we would absolutely be eating more meals at Willie's if we had the chance. Willie's Place came as a recommendation from a couple of guys I work with. As luck would have it my wife & I found it by accident as we were driving around town. After an appointment this afternoon I looked up Barbecue Restaurants Near Me on Yelp! and Willie's Place Ranked top of the list. It's a rather small place & looks a little weathered on the outside, enough so, that my Thai wife gave me that "look" as we pulled up. I told her that places like this are the best kept secrets in the U.S. When you walk in you are immediately overwhelmed by the wonderful smell of smoked brisket. The menu is on the wall and there are more hamburgers available than you probably thought possible. Or at least more than I thought possible. Next time I go back I'm going to close my eyes & just point to one. And the BBQ. My wife had the Big Rib Plate & I had the Three Meat Plate (ribs, chopped brisket & sausage). We both had a side of potato salad & baked beans. There was absolutely; nothing we could complain about. The baked beans were piping hot, the potato salad was delicious & the ribs...the ribs practically fell off the bone. THAT tender. The chopped brisket & sausage was delicious as well & I think my preference may lie with the brisket. At the time I ordered the brisket the gentleman taking my order (Willy himself? I should have asked) informed me that the only brisket they had at the moment was chopped as the sliced brisket was being smoked. After our plates came out he brought out a few slices of brisket that my wife & I shared. We thought that was pretty nice. While Willie's Place is small it is warm & down home comfortable. I can't remember if they have bottled beer or not but they do have Coke products & iced tea. One last thing: our two plates + two sides + two sweet teas (free refills) cost us $40.00. My plate alone was $20.00 but it came with plenty on the plate. Chopped brisket, sausage, ribs, a bowl of baked beans, potato salad, a slice of Texas Toast & a side of BBQ sauce. It was worth it. All of it. And the wife was happy too. Long review. Great food. We'll be back. One last thing: Best barbecue we've had since we moved to Wichita Falls. read more

Service was amazing here! The guy that helped us was so nice. He gave us a menus because we needed more details as to what the burgers had. Ok so unpopular opinion but I thought the burgers were just ok. They were really good but it wasn't like a huge explosion of flavors. I think it just needed a bit more. I feel like I've had better burger in Wichita Falls. Sorry. Maybe this place was just hyped up too much for me and then it didn't meet my expectations. The sides were tater tots and French fries were super tasty and amazing. The portions were more than filing and filed up out tummy. They are doing a drive thru and the food comes pretty quick. A perfect hole-in-the-wall BBQ joint. License plates line the walls of this smokey north Texas sit-in/drive-thru. A signed picture of Willie Nelson stared down on me with approval as I ate my chopped brisket plate. Sliced was sold out by 1pm but I have to admit, I have never had it outside of a sandwich and was very impressed. The Ma and Pa owners were characters who talked about the ails of modern society. A drive-thru patron complained that the prices had gone up, to which Willie (I assume) responded, "that's 'cause I can't keep up with THEM!" My meat and two sides plus a fountain drink was only $16.78. I can't imagine it being more affordable but I'm a city slicker. I wouldn't have complained either way as the folksy gun-themed wall-art made it apparent that Willie and Ma are packin' heat, and I ain't talking BBQ sauce! The sauce was good. The meat was great. Cluck, Cluck, Out of Luck Willie's Place is on a burger and barbecue pedestal, so I must chose my words wisely. I don't want to get struck down by lightning. I am a chicken fanatic. I love it! I was so happy to find a Grilled Chicken Sandwich on Willie's menu when I looked ahead of time. Unfortunately, I was informed that there was no chicken when I got there. Bummer!! On the way out, I grabbed a Beanee Burger to take home to my mother out in Jolly. She ate on that sucker for two days and bragged about it for four. I'll definitely be back when I am in town again. Came in and got a half pound of ribs and a kid's cheeseburger. The burgers looked good in the pictures so I really wanted to try one. I think I messed up though. Obviously, the kid's cheeseburger was made for a kid and had too much mustard. The ribs were pull off the bone and had just the right amount of seasoning so you could really taste the meat and smoke flavor. What did it for me was the bbq sauce. It was thick and spicy, which is my favorite and kinda out of character for Texas bbq. Service was quick and everyone was super friendly. True southern hospitality! read more

Might be one of the best old-fashioned hamburger in America. Dang sure one of the best in West Texas. Very friendly folks, fast service. Swiss Cheeseburger with onion rings was on point like a good bird dog. They also have fantastic tea and I'm known to pick a eatin' joint off good tea along but they got way more to offer. Willie's Place has a wide variety of great burgers! I throughly enjoyed the "Silly Willy" which was a classic cheese burger topped with smoked BBQ brisket. The interior of the diner is charming and has that whole in the wall vibe. The walls are covered in license plates! That being said, the cleanliness and overall atmosphere took away from my meal more than it added to it. It's small and a little run down. I received my food quickly with average customer service. Overall, I'd definitely eat at Willie's again and look forward to trying out more of there menu options. read more
