The gator bites were also good fresh, but borderline salty. The coleslaw was solid--about a 7 out of 10--and the green beans were tasty, though a bit heavy on the liquid smoke. Now to the main course. The Blackened Grouper Ponchartrain was disappointing, especially for the price--generously a 5 out of 10. The portion size was decent, but the texture was inconsistent. The blackened areas not covered in sauce were dry and flavorless, while the portions in the sauce were moist but still lacked flavor, despite the heavy amount of sauce. As for the cream sauce, it was overloaded with butter, causing it to separate and taste overly oily. The garlic bread was similarly overdone--too much butter and overcooked. Overall, the meal lands at a 6 out of 10. Our server, Michell, was great--but even her service couldn't make up for the shortcomings in the food.
