Keith's Oaks Bar and Grill is a low key, friendly place to get a decent meal at an affordable price. My wife, daughter and I arrived here around 5pm on a weeknight. There were a handful of people around, mostly at the bar. The same girl that welcomed us in, got us seated and was also our server. She gave got our drinks and then gave us time to look over the menu. Their slogan, "A lil' something for everyone" is spot on. They have soups, salads, sandwiches, dinner plates, seafood and even vegan options. There is no shortage of options here. I had an ice cold Yuengling draft and we ordered the mozzarella sticks for an appetizer. These were crispy, steaming hot and cheesy. The marinara dipping sauce really stood out to me. It was chunkier than normal marinara and just boasted a flavor that seemed made in-house, not from a jar. For dinner, I ordered the grouper Rueben and my wife ordered the Melt. The grouper Rueben had fresh well cooked grouper on it. Thousand Island dressing brought the sauerkraut and Swiss together and it was all packed inside a tasty marbled rye bread. I opted for the side of sweet potato fries. These had a really nice sweet potato taste and didn't seem to be previously frozen fries. They were good! They just needed to be more crispy. They were a little soft and soggy, some of them. My wife enjoyed her melt. It was basically the burger version of my sandwich. Marbled rye bread, onions, Swiss cheese and thousand island dressing. I particularly like the location of this place. Not necessarily the intersection of Lithia-Pinecrest and 60 but the old wooden house situated under oak trees. It seems like a whole other world from the bustling area around it. An oasis you could say, with cold beverages, good food and friendly people. We'd come back this place again. read more

I found Keith's Oaks on a business trip 10+ years ago and have eaten there every chance I get. It had been a while and I didn't remember the name but did remember roughly where it was. Found it and had the same great experience I had had before. Start with Crab and Cheese Soup. It has so much crab it is chewy. We had a couple of appetizers and the split the 1/2 pound grouper sandwich. Keith's was every bit as good as I remember. The service was friendly and attentive. Kind of a dive sports bar with good food and service. Ambiance - dive sports bar very casual dining. They had no issue with our little dog coming in and even offered her some water. Very nice! Food - I had the pork tenderloin sandwich with fries. I am from the Midwest and know a good pork sandwich and this one did not disappoint. The fries we also very good. My husband had the cordon blue which he said was not very good. This is where the 1 star was lost. He also ordered the onion rings which were a homemade home run!!! Was seated by the gentleman at the door. After 10 minutes or so he can back to see if we had been waited on. No waitstaff had shown up so he got us a couple of beer and said our waitress would be right with us. Long story short, Two tables that came in after us were waited on. I can't say before us as no waitress ever showed. I asked th gentleman at the door for our bill for two beer and he said he would take care of them. This place is behind the car lot and Thortons on Brandon Blvd. My first impression was it was it needed some work on the exterior and as we walked in definitely the interior as well but that didn't stop us from trying some food items they offered. Only one server was working at the time and also running the bar but she was getting the job done. We ordered some mozzarella sticks and for mains a burger medium rare and a chicken quesadilla. The mozzarella were out pretty quickly and we're really good they had a seasoning blend on the bread in that taste great. For the main food we waited almost 20min but it showed up and from the looks it looked good I enjoyed my quesadilla very much but the burger was very well done no red in site but the flavor was okay. read more

My family and I love going to Keith's for dinner. It is affordable and such a fun, chill atmosphere. You can tell there are regulars that hang out here for weekly events. My kids love to hangout in the game room and play pinball and there is usually live music on Fridays. The food is not too bad either. Cowboy burger is a usual for me. The fries are always on point. They also have amazing wings. My husband is always like 'I can't NOT get wings here!' He likes them so much. They usually have happy hours adding to the affordability of this place. Years ago I stumbled upon this place and was able to check it out again. You'll find this little gem tucked away on the corner or 60 and Lithia. It's very unassuming in appearance and looks like a house. The food and service was great. Your typical bar food is available but there are various sandwich, wings, and dinner entree items available. The Mac n cheese bits were ok, nothing I got too excited about but tasted good. The side salad tasted fresh, and the ranch dressing was great, tasted homemade. They are known for having great seafood, so I opted for coconut shrimp, but got the appetizer vs the dinner (6 shrimp vs 8) and just added a side. About the same amount of food, but a little cheaper option. And the loaded mashed potatoes are LOADED! It was fantastic! I'll definitely be back when I'm on that side of town! read more

Went here with a group of friends. Overall most enjoyed the experience, the drinks and the food. Surprised at the pure variety of foods they offer for a bar. And the preparation was above average. My ceasar wrap was pretty good with just enough chicken and the other items in it were well balanced. The regular fries were a bit salty (a comment by others too). There were excellent votes for the tot option and the sweet potato fries were perfect in my opinion with another saying they were a bit salty. Ambience is good...can get a tiny bit loud depending on where you are sitting...they had a live singer who was entertaining and by 9:30 pm many of the tables were full on a Friday night so the vibe is good. Also a good mix of ages were present. Prices were what you would expect for a bar/grill. Most plates, which include a potato option, were between $11 and $13. Keith's stands strong as a free standing structure in a land full of strip mall bars. Beautiful bar surrounded by mature oak trees. The inside had a lot of character unlike most of the bars in town. Great lunch today. First off, I'd have to say, their draft beer is ice cold and probably the coldest I've had in a while. Had the shrimp dinner and it was better than seafood restaurants. The shrimp were quite large and fresh. It seemed liked fresh shrimp that had beer beer battered and fried. It did not taste like frozen shrimp! The chicken sandwich was the crispiest I've ever seen. I must admit that I could kick myself in the pants for not sending back " The Worst BBQ Ribs " I have had in my lifetime! The only good thing about them was the portion, but the Ribs were not edible. I took the remainder of my meal home and wound up throwing it in the garbage. I had tried these ribs years ago and they were great but now UGH! They were so tough you could not cut them with a knife. Very dissapointed!!!!! Pretty new in town and drove by this place a few times. It looks really fun from the outside driving by. That's the best I can say about it. Once we got closer we noticed the steps and front area was littered with cigarette butts. Not just 1 or 2 but at least three on the front steps. We quit counting at 20 on the way in. We came in the front door there was only one other family in there and the bartender just looked at us and ignored us. We were getting ready to leave when a girl came out and sat us at the table. I said thank you and she never said your welcome or anything. Then the bartender came to take our orders. The first tea she got right the second one she forgot the lemonade and I asked for a to go cup when we left and she went in the back with my tea and brought it to me and it was unsweetened tea. 2 out of 3 drinks wrong really how hard is it to make a sweet tea with a splash of lemonade. The crab cakes were much bigger than she said they were or else I wouldn't have ordered them and a plate of potato skins. They say the crab cakes are special southern crab cakes. Well I guess if by "special" you mean burnt. Then they were special. Burnt on the outside and a lot of onion chunks inside. Nothing that great. The potato skins were okay they were not burnt because I suspect they were just frozen ones that were microwaved. You can tell potatoes that are reheated. My daughter was eating her spaghetti like a feral child and I told her not to let the noodles hang out of her mouth and cut them up. She couldn't, so I tried and they were so rubbery I couldn't even get them cut up. They were truely like eating rubberbands. I told her to just eat them any way she could. We over heard the bartender ask a guy sitting near us if he wanted to order food and he said no. Then she said "I was just asking a question." In a very rude voice. So in all our food sucked it was overpriced for the bowling alley quality. The bartender/waitress just didn't seem to care about a thing and seemed put off I asked for a to go cup. Against my better judgement I gave her a tip because she did bring our food out but, messed up the drink twice. I had to go up to the bar to pay. Retrain the staff to be friendly and welcoming, stop serving frozen food and clean the black cobwebs hanging from the ceiling up. The whole place needs a good scrubbing. I'll say, this place is a trip. Great open space and great food to boot. Local beers on tap and a knowledgable staff to fulfill your every whim when imbibing. I like ginger ale to mix with whiskey. Did they have it? No. Did they fix me up though? Hell yes. Ghetto ginger ale is the bomb, and they smiled wryly when I asked for it. I think the topper for tonight, besides my NCAA knowledgable bar mates, was the karaoke that permeated the room with cackling voices and flat tones. It was painful but satisfying.
