There is a laundry (one washer and dryer) but if you time it right, it's enough. The pool is nice, many young families used it in the time I was there, as did I once. The gym has the basics, dumbbells and a treadmill. My only issue is that the Peloton bike does not connect to the internet and they are unable to fix it they tell me, so it's as if it doesn't really exist. Part of me choosing them was that Peloton bike that ended up not working. There is daily breakfast which is above average, and 24 hour coffee and tea available; along with a small market and the occasional free cookies by the front desk. Parking isn't an issue, it's well placed, close to the highway, and there is an Italian restaurant within walking distance. I plan on staying there again the next time I'm in town.

One room had hair in the bed, and while clean sheets were provided, staff refused to assist with changing them. More concerning was a serious safety issue -- the door to one room did not properly lock and could be pushed open from the outside without a key. Another room door showed visible damage as if someone had tried to break in. This is completely unacceptable. When I reported this, I was told the hotel was full and nothing could be done. No relocation, no real attempt to fix the issue, and no compensation offered. To make matters worse, guests next door were extremely loud, and repeated calls to the front desk went unanswered. This stay was far below Hilton standards, especially when it comes to safety and customer service.

I picked this in because one it was inexpensive and two I'm under the age of 21 so this was just a good hangout spot for me and my boyfriend when I got there the management was OK. I didn't have a problem until the management that came later got a pissy attitude about me coming down and getting a fresh pair of sheets after 3 o'clock knowing that I checked in at two so I was doing a walk-through of the room and noticed that the sheets had stains on them while they were made. As I went downstairs to tell the hotel clerk that the sheets have stains on them and they are made as if they were clean he got an attitude and told me that the laundry room closes at 3 when I told him I just checked in at 2 o'clock. After that, I made the bed and everything didn't walk-through. The room was not very clean. We also saw a cockroach that we had to kill ourselves and the hairdryer was already moved before we got in there and just dirty. The fridge was dirty. The tub was dirty. Most of the stuff was dirty. I wouldn't stay at this inn again if I can help it, but this was just not an overall good experience.

I chose this property because I am 35 years old, grew up in Canton, Michigan, and believed I would be welcomed and treated with respect at a Marriott-affiliated hotel in my own community. When I arrived at approximately 2:50 p.m., the check-in process was pleasant. Although I do not remember the name of the associate who checked me in, I will remember his kindness and professionalism. He allowed me to check in early so I could view the room and plan decorations for my daughter's surprise birthday celebration. I explained that I would be hosting a gathering for my daughter and that I needed four keys so that designated adults could assist with setup and supervise children during the swimming portion of the event. I specifically explained that some adults would be assisting with the children's safety but would not be staying overnight. The front desk associate was aware of my plans, created additional keys, and labeled them for Valencia Lindsey, Asya Washington, and Monique. At that time, I was made to feel welcomed and reassured that I had selected the right hotel. My reservation was made through Booking.com and was reserved for six adults. I reviewed the property policies before my stay and did not see a policy prohibiting visitors from being in my room. I understood the hotel to be family-friendly and appropriate for a child's birthday celebration. Events Leading to Eviction At approximately 5:55 p.m., I returned to the hotel after running errands. My guests arrived, and we began celebrating my daughter's birthday. The first activity planned was swimming. The children entered the pool while several parents remained nearby to supervise their children. Shortly after the children began swimming, Sharon Putnick Jeleniewski began approaching members of my party in a manner that made us feel targeted, unwelcome, and uncomfortable. We were not informed that we were being disruptive, excessively loud, or violating any specific policy before she began demanding that people leave. Ms. Jeleniewski repeatedly followed members of my party, questioned guests, and counted individuals in the pool area while using a clipboard. I observed that she appeared to count African American individuals, including people who were not part of my group. This caused me to believe that race played a role in how we were being treated. Ms. Jeleniewski repeatedly came to my room, knocked on the door, and discussed my reservation and charges with individuals who were not me. She threatened to charge additional fees for guests and stated that I would need to purchase another $500 room if I wanted more than four people present. This was inconsistent with my reservation, which reflected six adults. She also incorrectly stated that the number of guests listed on my reservation was incorrect, even though the information was accurate. Her conduct caused distress among the children and adults present. Discriminatory Treatment and Racial Concerns I believe I was treated differently because I and my guests are African American. One of the most concerning incidents occurred when Ms. Jeleniewski reported to police that there were approximately 20 people in the pool area. This statement was inaccurate. Video footage should show that there were approximately two adults supervising and eight children swimming. Other adults were present or planning to arrive to supervise their children and take pictures, but they were not all part of my party. Ms. Jeleniewski appeared to include unrelated African American hotel guests in her count of my party. I witnessed her approach another African American family entering the hotel and tell them they could not enter because everyone from room 419 had been evicted. The family explained that they were not associated with my room and did not know me. Despite this, Ms. Jeleniewski questioned them before allowing them to proceed. This interaction increased my concern that African American guests were being stereotyped or treated as connected simply because of their race.

Where do I even begin with this review? I stayed here a few weeks ago due to a power outage…read more Everything in Metro Detroit, Washtenaw and Livingston Counties were booked solid. Despite reading horrible reviews I was desperate. There was one room left here. I thought how bad could it really be? I found out the reviews were true. For starters as soon as I walked into my room it reeked of cigarette smoke. Then I went into the bathroom and the tub was not clean. There was hair and a film of grime in it. The toilet seat was gross and looked as if it had multiple cigarette burns. The furniture and bedding were tattered and dirty. The walls were gross and the heater was grimy and part of it was broken. The phone and lampshade were covered in grime. I decided to call the office out of desperation since the smell of cigarettes was so bad. This is supposed to be a nonsmoking place. I pleaded for another room if available. Turns out someone did not show up so I got to move to another room. On my way over to the new room I noticed there was dog feces all over the grass. Be careful to only use the sidewalks here. Be aware though the sidewalks and stairways look like they have not been swept in quite some time. They were littered with cigarette butts, leaves and trash. This new room I'm guessing was supposed to be a step up. It was only slightly less dirty than the first room. The tub and toilet were better, but as I sat on the bathroom toilet and looked at the walls I wondered if the stuff on them was boogers, vomit, feces or all 3? This room reeked of cigarette smoke too and had a musty smell. The heater wasn't broken, but the only options were to keep it on all night or off. The heater is right below the window so the air moves the curtains up. The wi-fi also sucked. At this point it was getting late so I had to put my child to bed. I was worried if the bedspread and blankets were laundered after every guest. They stunk like mildew. The blankets had cigarette holes in them. Pillows were lumpy and smelled horrible. Despite checking the mattress for bed bugs, I still worried about bringing bed bugs or fleas home. I got very little sleep. This place is next to the highway so all night long I heard traffic. The smoke alarm has a flashing green light that never stops and is right above the bed. I also was awake because the smell of the room and bedding had me gagging and coughing throughout the night. The next morning I checked out. I didn't even care that I had paid for another night to stay here. I just wanted to be gone! After check out I took a peek at their "breakfast". It was two plastic containers of cereal. Nothing else. The juice machine had a sign that said it was broken. I noticed a school bus there to pick kids up. I feel sorry for children having to live at this place. I would not recommend anyone stay here if there are other options. I'm disappointed that the Days Inn, a well established chain would run a dump like this.

All this made me concern about how well the hotel take care of their guests-- do they update their mattress (eliminating spread of bed bugs)? I am concerned that their answer is the same as my 1-star review: "We think not." Then in that case... I won't be back. OR... it could be just that I have one of the worse room for the deal. In that case, stay away from Room #303.
