I would not recommend the nail services. I asked for an ombré dip manicure, like a French and this is what I got. Not only is the color off but it hardened underneath my nails. It took nearly 2 hours for this and at no point did the tech indicate that she didn't know what she was doing or offer something else. I get my mani/pedi's from Carlen. I love her. I have dancer's feet so the pedicures can get a little rough. But she is so friendly and does a great job every time. I also get waxed there, by Carlen too and she's so great. Professional, quick and relatively painless. I go to school nearby, but far enough away that it is sometimes annoying to go home. After going to Dellaria's a few times and walking away unhappy every time, I started making the effort to go back home. I've had my hair cut by a bunch of their stylists, and I've never been unhappy. Plus, they're generally cheaper than Dellaria's- I usually pay in the $50 range with tip, I think, for a cut and dry. Willow used to be Salon Ulloa, but they moved down the street and added the spa aspect on. I've only gotten my hair cut (and twice dyed blue), so I can't really comment on the spa part. They always offer me tea and coffee and the like, though I'm awkward and never accept anything. In conclusion, this is a good place to get a kickass haircut. I've asked for "funky" things before and they've gotten really excited. So, yeah. Millis. A great place for a haircut, a terrible place to find fun things to do. read more

I have short hair, some would say very short, and with short hair like mine, it's hard to find a quality stylist that cuts it just right -- you know, not masculine, but cute and pixie-ish, loads of style and still feminine. I've found my hairstylist Courtney at another local salon and followed her just down the road to Willow. It's been years since my first cut from Courtney, and she never disappoints me, and she even bears with me when I go through my "I want to grow my hair out, but just a little bit" phases. Courtney is friendly, smart and we have great relaxed conversations. If you need a hairstylist, please go see her, you wont be disappointed As for the rest of the Salon it has been going through some interior sprucing, and the noise level seems high, but I was recently there at a very busy time. The waiting area is comfortable with big armed chairs and plenty of magazines to read. I have not gone for any of the many other services offered, but the manicure stations look clean. I moved to the area last year and searched for a salon where stylists are not only skilled but also listen to the client. I'd been going to the same stylist for several years before moving and actually considered making a 200-mile trip to have her cut my hair again. Sanity prevailed and I tried the Willow Salon and Day Spa, closer to home. Have had terrific haircuts. Also have enjoyed facial and pedicure. In fact, dare I say it? Like the haircuts I've got from Kathleen better than what I used to get. The atmosphere at the salon is warm, welcoming and a wonderful oasis from stresses in the outside world. Not only that, but the salon has week day hours that accommodate working women who can't always take time on a Saturday for haircuts. read more

I love willow salon and day spa... Carlen is the most gifted wax and therapeutic manicure/pedicure practitioner. I have yet to try carlen's facials but I will be soon:) I am a massage therapist by trade and use my hands and feet for my livelihood so caring for dry hands/feet in the winter is extra challenging. The treatments of paraffin wax and nail trimming is something I will always do for myself from now on. I always thought salons were just for "beauty" treatments, well not anymore! The front desk staff are so helpful always make me feel respected and welcome. My teenage/young adult daughters love Michelle an amazing hair stylist. I was planning a wedding from an hour away and looking for a salon where my bridesmaids and I could get mani/pedis before the big day. After being disappointed with a few other local places, I found Willow Day Spa in Millis and was so glad. The staff were very responsive to my initial email and helped me set up a spa party for that day. The price was reasonable and we actually got a lot more pampering out of it than other mani/pedis I've had. Even with last minute changes to our appointment, the staff at the spa could accommodate everyone without a problem. The nail technicians were wonderful, everyone was friendly and did such a great job. Everyone's nails came out amazing and held up - no chips or peeling. If I was in the area again, I'd definitely go back in a heartbeat. read more

I had an awful experience here with Jen. I was 8 weeks post partum and let's just say, fragile. I called beforehand and told them I had a limited amount of time due to breast feeding, but I wanted a trim and single process color: a medium brown. We were having my daughter churched the next day so I wanted to look as nice as possible ( although I was still a bloated mess). They assured me it could be done in an hour and a half. She was over 20 minutes late getting me into the chair and neglected to at least tell me she was running late. She said some odd things about doing two different dyes, but I figured she knew what she was doing. The result: my roots were red the rest if my hair was near black. When I saw the result her answer was that it would gradually fade to become one color. I raced home to feed my little one ( putting off the feeding resulted in an infection btw). My husband was horrified and told me I looked like a punk with two toned hair. I went and looked at the back in our bathroom mirror (she never offered to show me) and there was a clear line of demarcation. My husband called to ask if they could fix it. They said if I arrived in the next 15 mins they could. Off I went again and she dyed my entire head almost black. Great. Thanks. Just what I wanted. I only give three stars because the salon owners were kind and professional and returned our money. read more

The staff is GREAT! The place has a great atmosphere, friendly staff and plenty of little perks (hot wrap for you neck, lemoned ice water, etc). I was unable to continue coming for my Shellac manicures because the procedure followed was not in accordance with the CND procedures. After a couple of months I developed sensitive red marks under my nails. When reading what is the process is, the base coat was is to be cured only 10 seconds, not the 90 seconds that was done. The acetone should have been left on the nails longer prior to removal of the old Shellac which was harsh and stripped layers of my nails. The Nail technician is great and I enjoyed my experiences with her, but given that the recommended procedure was so different that what I experienced, I do not feel she was trained properly. I do not want to list her name, she is a pleasure to do business with, but I think the Salon should provide her with the opportunity for proper training. read more

Top spa in the area. I moved to the area two years ago and was searching for good places to get my hair, nails, eye brows and massages. I found different places for the different services that were decent but not great. Willow Day Spa offers a full range of services all in one beautifully put together and CLEAN spa. Coffee, water or tea and a hot neck wrap are offered to customers when they walk in. For pedicures the sink is lined with plastic and the jet comes apart to be easily cleaned. The spa is always beautifully decorated for the seasons and the staff is extremely customer focused and friendly. Highly recommend. read more

First visit 4 weeks ago for one process color. Was told that the salon also puts a balancer on to even out tones. I was ok with that. By the end of the 4 weeks I thought my hair had grown so much because the roots were so much more noticeable and my crown was really showing and I was struggling to cover with root cover up. I am nearly 100% gray. On week 4 I returned for another root color and told the stylist my concern and she assured me it would be covered. My husband was with me and he joked that now my hair would be yellow? (Because that was the color of the permanent color). I told him no that once color processes it changes to the real color. She put it on along with the balancer. THe stylist also cut my hair this day. Everything looked ok when I left except that I thought I had staining on my scalp that looked light and thought it would go away once I can shampoo. The next day I put my hair up to go into my hot tub and my husband told me my hair was all yellow. I looked at it closely throughout and he was right my roots were yellow. I went back that next evening and my stylist was not there. I pressed them to explain their process because I had never come across a permanent color at any salon where they do a balancer without the customer requesting it and it costing extra. I also told her there was quite a bit of color on the back of my neck and showed her. She said that happens with color. I said but usually the stylist cleans you up. I was sold the balancer is semit permanent color and the root color was permanent. I asked why such a light color would be chosen as by hair is a dark brown? She evaded most of my questions and just said I can make a note for your stylist that she needs to got up a shade or two next time. I said I can't go 4 weeks with yellow hair. She said I can see it is important to you so we could put a darker semi permanent color tonight or tomorrow to get you to your next appointment. I asked why they couldn't do the permanent color? She said that they can't do that because they would be lifting the color done yesterday. That made no sense. If you put a darker color over a lighter color it covers it. There is no lifting involved. Again makes me question what their process is. I've been coloring for many years. At that point I just wanted the yellow to be gone so I said do the semi permanent tonight. She said one girl can put it on, a second could wash it out, but no one was available to dry it but i could use a hair dryer. You would think that I wouldn't be treated as an inconvenience and they would have bent over backwards to ensure my concerns were taken care of. The process time for the semi permanent color would take about 20 minutes. While things were being processed we noticed the flowering bushes to the right and left of the door were covered with bees and told an older woman that was there. She showed no concern. There had to be at least 100 bees on each bush. My husband is allergic and was with me. I dried the front and top of my hair and it appeared better. We will see how it lasts over the next 4 weeks. The color was still on the back of my neck when I left. I bought some color remover at another store to remove it myself. When we were leaving we asked for another exit due to the bees and was told that that was the only exit and had to quickly pass be the bees. I'm not sure what their process is. It seems like they are using a base permanent color and relying on the semi permanent to do the coverage. That didn't work for the amount of gray I guess. I can't say for sure because they would not explain it to me. If I had been smarter I would have asked for the color number and letter that went into my permanent color because it was not a shade or two too light, it was yellow in the bowl and yellow on my roots. My stylist was great, my cut was great and if she went elsewhere I would continue to go to her. This is why her name is not mentioned. I believe the way they say "Our process is" "Here we do a" confirms this is a salon process not the individual stylist choice. I've never been told not to wash my hair the next day following a permanent color so it has to be due to the semi permanent color. read more

I have never had my hair done there, I already have someone I work with who is very good. I went there twice for eyebrow/lip wax and I have to say I have been disappointed both times and I am looking elsewhere. I had someone I trusted and who was excellent for over 15 years, but they retired and since then finding someone who seems to know what they are doing is a problem. I have nice full eyebrows, most women want them. They require someone who knows how to shape an arch (they have an arch but it needs some enhancement) as well as the usual clean lines above and below the eyebrow, straight edge at the inner corner of the eye etc. Basic stuff but requires attention to detail. In all the years I have been having my brows done, scissors have never been used. There is a reason for that. Because it makes eyebrows look horrible and seems they are just cutting corners and taking the easy way out with no thought to the results. My eye brows looked like a scraggly mess and no one is ever doing that again, it took months for my nice full looking brows to fill in IN THE MIDDLE OF THE EYEBROW, I figured I would give them another shot and just tell them not to do that again. I go back, and had someone different (Kim) and she not only does not know how to apply the wax with out scraping the skin with the instrument, which hurt and left a scratch on my face, but she doesn't know to anchor the skin. She asks me to put my tongue under my top lip to make it taught, and she applies the wax (while scraping my skin) and then with my tongue under my lip does nothing to hold the area down and rips away. I was not pleased and told her she needs to anchor the skin. If she has an aversion to touching someones face, she should not be doing this work. Wash your hand afterwards hon, get over it. She did the bare minimum with my eye brows and did not shape them properly. I had almost no arch to speak of. People need to understand you create the shape by waxing the bottom of the brow, that allows for the line to go up and towards an arch, you will not get that by waxing the top of the brow-that is just to neaten it up. I will not go back, so far both times they seem amateurs who do not know what they are doing, have poor technique and no real knowledge of how to do the job. read more

By far the worst hair salon I have ever been to in my entire life. I booked an appointment over the phone because I wanted to go from a light brown (only dyed my hair once in the past year) to an all over platinum blonde. I have done this before with no problems at another salon. It just takes a little while. Well, I spoke with the receptionist who told me she booked and appointment for me on Saturday but also suggested I come in before for a consultation. I did and they did a test strip in my hair and it lifted just fine. So I went up to the front desk and the receptionist told me the she actually didn't book the appointment for saturday. So she booked me for a full foil on wednesday. I tried to explain that's not what I wanted. I want a full head of platinum. She reassured me that a full foil was how it should be booked. So I came in on Wednesday to dye my hair and the hair dresser tells me she cannot does not have enough time to do that because I had been booked for a full foil. Seriously did not even get my hair done here and it was the most difficult and frustrating experience I have ever had at a hair salon. If they want to improve their customer satisfaction they should probably hire a new receptionist. read more

I went to Willow Salon after a horrible haircut. It has taken some time and some creative work on part of my stylist, but my hair is growing in and actually looking great. My stylist even called me at home to make sure I was happy with the cut, which I was. She is so friendly and bubbly.
