A small shop that sells electronic components! When I was looking for "electronics stores" THIS is what I was looking for, not BestBuy. Upon walking in for my first time, the staff greeted me from behind the register. After looking at all the supplies, modules, and parts that were for sale, I felt like a kid in a candy shop! I've never seen a store quite like this and I was very excited. The shelves looked like my Amazon purchase history, although I had to restrain myself a bit to avoid upsetting the wife with my shopping spree. I was originally looking for multimeter fuse, sadly they didn't have the size I needed. The staff was extremely friendly and even gave me recommendations on where else I could go to find the fuse. The prices of everything else were extremely fair and would be comparable to being the same, or less than prices you would find online. Willy's Electronics has been around as long as I can remember. Loved it as a child and it hasn't changed much - still love it today!!!! And they have everything!!!! Wow! My wife and are traveling and I needed a hard-to-find plug to go into a CPAP machine. I did a quick Duck-Duck-Go search and found Willy's Electronic Supply... just 12 minutes away from our hotel. Walked in and was greeted by a very friendly person, who took a quick look at the machine and walked us straight to the plug. He asked if I needed a 6, or 12-foot. I opted for the six. He said that'll be $3.59 (or something ridiculously cheap). Looking around, they carry a LOT of great stuff. I'm sure that whatever you need, they'll have it... and at a great price too! Definitely the best and only electronic supply store in San Diego. It's not quite as good as the ones in Los Angeles but since I've moved on here, I am very fortunate to have found Willie's. Pretty much anything to sooth your inner geek! Components, heat shrink, higher end security cameras and all of those odd connectors that no one else has. A little sad the tweaker screwdrivers are now Asian copies, they work OK, but definitely not German steel. Flashlights that look like they could start a campfire they're so bright, great attentive staff. Apparently, housewives park there while dropping off the chilluns because they had to make a warning sign. If they served beer, I would never leave! read more

So I recently moved into National City from the navy barracks and was looking for an electronic store... I figured they would have wires for subwoofers since I saw what appeared to be subwoofer wires on their page... so I got out of work around 2pm and the first stop I made before heading home was this place, as soon as I back into a parking space... I had a worker assume that I was there to pick up a kid from school and was rudely told I had to leave. He then decided to ask the question, " Are you here to buy something or to pick up a kid?" I proceeded to tell him that I was going to look and he then told me I had to leave.. I'm 21 and my family is in Virginia, what business do I have parking at an electronic store to pick up a teenager that I don't have. Like one other review said, the store might be good but the workers are definitely not at all pleasing. I really wish you could give a negative review cause based off of a first impression, this place might take your money but that man right there just made me want to avoid this place. Wow! What a great electronics store, in the middle of what feels like a desert of such places here. As of this moment in time I may be somewhat of a moderate level enthusiast in electronics mods, design, and repairs but as far as my needs go but this place is vast and has a wide range of tools and products available choose from. It makes someone like me very happy when I walk through the door and find 100% of everything that I need, and I bought a lot. Oh, and I have to say, I have no idea how they can stay in business with such amazing prices! I did some comparison shopping online me I found that their prices were equal to or even better than the prices that I could get on Amazon or eBay for similar new products. Every electronics geek/wanna-be-McGuyver's best friend... Willy's is the kind of place you go to without even to call to check if they have a part in stock. The store always has what you need when you need it... if only you don't arrive when everyone's out to lunch haha Seriously though, for a place that reeks of solder and flux Willy's is your one stop shop for any or all of your electronic needs. They even post prices that rival DigiKey in some respects (when you factor in s&h from DK) and while their inventory may not be AS extensive, their more than helpful staff is always willing to help you 'get er done!' The best thing, if you don't want to make your way down to National City (It seems the 5 South gets more and more conjested day after day) they do take phone orders! read more

I think the first time I stepped into this place I got a electronic boner. This place is a chocolate factory to a rotund Swiss child. Its huge has anything that you would need for any electronic project and some. Knowledgeable staff that knows what you mean when ask about if they carry something instead of asking whats that used for or just point you to a general direction of were they think its at. just to dogpile on the accolades, been here a dozen times, never once left without pretty much all I came for. Decent parking, across from a school in a residential area location, but not far from the freeway. When I was doing car audio installs UFO was conveniently on the way to the 5 for carpet and vinyl. One of the few places in town with raw drivers (speakers) Any audio jack you can imagine, lots of batteries, tools too. Nothing negative to say about these guys. read more

Willy's may be a good store, but that doesn't mean all of its employees are. Some of them are positively lousy, slap-worthy, you might say. I just returned from a very unpleasant visit to their store. The man I talked to combined ignorance with indifference to an extent rarely seen. I had to constantly prod him for some useful information on two subjects: smart speakers and cassette players, but it didn't do any good., The most I could get out of him was that he didn't know or that his store didn't have anything like that. No,"You might try...," or "I think..", or "Maybe if you..," No, none of that. No attempt at all to be of any assistance, just "We don't carry anything like that." I did try, though. I kept asking him if he had ever heard of what I was asking about, etc. but that did no good. He just didn't give a damn. read more

Tom was awesome in helping us find a battery for our gate opener. Even though they were not going to make much money on the battery, Tom took apart the opener, determined which batteries were needed and looked everywhere to find the right part. If I need anything electronic in the future, this will be the place I shop. read more
