What is wrong with people these days? Say no and it's clear on both ends. Willy pushed me to pay him before they were done, got aggressive when I pointed out they'd trampled the garden 30 feet away from the tree, claimed there'd never been plants where their mangled remains lay, claimed he was giving some huge discount (5k for 1 tree) so I should just be grateful, and left debris and trash all over. Willy's Tree Service was excellent. The crew included 5 men and completed the entire task in 2 hours. The service included trimming a numerous trees, one of which very high in our back yard, thus allowing again wonderful views of the Bay and Golden Gate Bridge from both my house and back porch. He came out and gave me a quote that same day, and he had a team here less than a week later. The team did a great job, especially on the tree removal. I had Willie come out to give me a bid on pruning a tree that was on my neighbors property but was hanging over my roof. He said he would not do it without a permit. I explained to him that a permit was not required since it is on my property and I was only asking him to cut the Lim that was hanging over my roof. He got very abrasive and rude. I then asked him when he left my property to make sure that he close the fence so that my dog would not run out. He left the fence opened and of vourse my dog took off. read more

I highly recommend Willy's Tree Service!! I called for an estimate and he arrived within an hour. He was professional, efficient, and listened to all concerns. He was knowledgeable and honest in reference to the correct time to trim or in my case not to trim certain trees, due to the high risk of killing them. His quote for cutting down 3 trees, removing the stumps and cleaning up branches leaning over into my neighbors yards, way great compared to others I had received. If I could give Willy 10 stars, I would! We called him on a Saturday afternoon, he accommodated our earlier timing for a Sunday morning quote and he and his guys were out on Tuesday. Willy is easy to work with, a great listener - an expert in his field. We had a large, unhealthy sycamore taken down, and he was thoughtful to turn the trunk into a cute bench for our boys. We appreciate Willy and his respectful crew. We have a redwood that needed serious pruning and we'd spoken with several arborists about the condition of the tree and what would be best. Willy offered a substantially lower estimate, showed up in a timely fashion and brought a great crew to keep the project going. I asked if we could keep some of the wood (deadwood from the prune) and the crew cut and stacked a good amount for us. They cleared the yard of all debris, and left us with the mulch from our tree. Pretty awesome! One thing to note: I created extra support/cover for two established but smaller plants under the tree...and glad I did, they would've gotten hit had I not. Willy was able to come to our house and provide an estimate within a day of requesting service and we were able to set up a time for when he would come by. He was not able to come on the first day we scheduled because his team was busy, but we were able to set up another day. I thought it was awesome he could get this done within a week. We contacted Willy about removing a pile of tree cuttings we generated ourselves with a chainsaw believing they would treat a return client with respect. First they indicated they'd come on a Saturday so we waited all day for them to show. No show, no call. Finally they responded that they were too busy but would be back in alameda Wednesday. We were due to leave town so asked our tenant to move our car out of the drive in the morning to accommodate removal later that day. Again Willy did not post up only this time, he didn't call and now will not return calls. So I guess they don't give a rats balls about return customers and are too damn inconsiderate to call and reschedule. They may be cheap, but they are totally unreliable. read more

I never got to work with Willy sadly. He seems like a nice guy and I did get to meet him once when he came over to check out the trees and give me a quote. However, when I called back to try and schedule a time to actually get the job done, he was impossible to get a hold of. The times he picked up, he would say he needed to call me back and hang up, and never call back. Other times, I just left messages. Finally I got a text message in broken English about how he can't help and I'm guessing from the text that he was having truck issues. Didn't try to tell me when it would be done or try to schedule a future date. Never have I tried so hard to give money to someone! Again, he seems like a nice guy but really could use an upgrade in his operations. I ended up going with Alvarado Tree Service and couldn't be happier with them. read more

We received a notice from the Fire Department that we needed to trim our trees away from the house. I called several tree service companies recommended by friends and none of them could come in a timely manner, and a couple didn't call me back at all. I noticed a truck parked in my neighborhood with a crew doing some tree work so I called yesterday. Willy came by to see what needed to be done and gave us an estimate the same day for the work requested by the fire department, as well as some long overdue work on a large redwood in our backyard. My neighbors have a large tree that extends its branches to my 2nd story roof level that rats and squirrels were using to access my roof so I needed to get the tree cut back ASAP. I called Willy and he came out same day (within hours) to take a look and give a quote, then brought a crew of 8 with a bucket truck and a chipper to do the work the very next day. They worked very quickly and efficiently, were done in less then 2 hours. Got a great vibe from Willy and his whole crew. Only complaint is that the work came in a little over estimate. We added some branches removal on a couple of trees on the other side of the house and it was not made clear to me that would be an extra cost. Maybe my bad for not assuming it would be.
