Planet Fitness, Carson on Lomita deserves a five star review…read more Been a member since before their opening and they have helped me reach my fitness goals and maintain an overall health at an affordable price. I upgraded to the black membership and enjoy the massage charge and tanning station/s. They are conveniently close to home and open 24/7 and modified hours during holidays (no big deal). They are always friendly, always cleaning always attentive and welcoming. They are busy but if you have a plan and work out regimen then you can get in a good workout. They have a lot of cardio machines and push machines as well as a few cable pull machines.

Planet Fitness - Carson Hate to say this but I'm calling it…read moreout. I'm officially downgrading my 5 stars to a generous 3, and that's only because the gym equipment doesn't talk back, unlike the staff. I walk in with positive energy, ready to crush a workout, and the vibe at the front desk hits me like a wet blanket. No greeting, no smile, not even a "Hey, welcome in." Just straight-up Debbie Downer Olympics. It's wild... this is supposed to be a Judgment Free Zone, yet the staff looks at you like you just interrupted their nap. The lack of professionalism and basic people skills is honestly impressive, like they trained for it. Love the gym, love working out... but the minute you walk in, the motivation dies at the door. A little friendliness goes a long way. Maybe add "acknowledge humans" to the training manual. What happen to customer service now a days???? Miguel C.

I hate this place. Don't join…read more Just joking... this is my "third place" where I get some time to hang out with people who have become friends and my biggest cheerleaders. This is a great community and the workouts are safe and fun! The trainers are knowledgeable and approachable. They are always watching and correcting form while giving you a little push to go heavier. Workouts are usually a circuit of stations using free weights, kettlebells, TRX, boss balls, etc. The ab finisher and sled pushes at the end top off the challenging hour. That being the basics you might ask about the gym, let me tell you about my results on the 8 week slim down challenge. I worked out 2-3 times at the gym per week and tried to do alternate activities on my off days. I ate a sensible meal plan, no crazy supplements or restrictions. I lost 14 pounds and am off 2 medications. My labs came back better and the panic I felt about my health is gone and I feel hope. So instead of experiencing of crazy starvation diet and bootcamp misery, I found a lifestyle reset. This is sustainable. I don't feel deprived or broken. Even in this horrid heatwave, I'm getting up for my 5am workouts. I may not exactly look forward to that 4:30 am alarm, but it is a new habit that is part of my morning routine.

Exercises ALWAYS challenging and there is variety so doesn't get boring . Also , personal attention…read more. Trainer knows who can do more and encourages them to do so . Attention to good form is also a plus . Keep it simple - sometimes I get a little lost in the order . Numbers on the floor help .

The trainer, Siena, has honestly changed my life. I've been training with her for a while now and…read morethe results speak for themselves! Not just physically, but in my strength, mobility, and flexibility too. Each phase of training has been intentional, and she has helped me get closer to my ideal physique step by step. If you are looking for a personal trainer who truly knows what they are doing and genuinely cares about your progress, I can not recommend Siena enough!! She is the best! This is also my favorite location in SoCal! Not the largest but it's nicely keep, super friendly staff all around and a community of people that workout here!

Walking into this location feels less like a gym and more like a guided tour…read more Exhibit A -- Cardio Hall. Here we observe machines at least three generations behind what's running at other Equinox clubs. Remarkably well preserved. Please do not touch. Exhibit B -- The Palette. Yellowed satin white with pale blue painted accents. The palette follows conventions of the historical period; artisans remain unidentified. Reads Bay Club, not Equinox. Exhibit C -- Storage. This is how early humans secured their belongings: you brought a lock from home. Those who arrived without one -- as I did -- left the door open and trusted in God. Other Equinox locations have at least advanced to the rotating dial. Fifteen years ago my hometown gym opened lockers with a fingertip. Three years ago, with a face. Now, seriously -- none of this is hard to fix, and all of it is below the standard the brand charges for: 1. Cardio. A refresh is one request to headquarters away. Ask. 2. Paint. Reset to a clean pure white. Swap the blue accent for acoustic wood slat panels -- vertical battens on a black backing. Low cost, immediate lift, and it's the current Equinox language. 3. Lockers. Change the locks. Bring-your-own-padlock isn't acceptable at this price point. Keypad or RFID at minimum. Credit where it's due: the staff were friendly and respectful throughout, and I was here only as a visitor. But as it stands, this isn't a club I'd want as my home gym. Hopefully they've made some changes by the next time I'm in the area.
