If I could give 0 stars I would. This business has gone down quickly over the past couple years, to the point of going out of business at this rate. Management (or OWNER Michel) is all but non existent. Rarely anyone answers phones, messages are never acknowledged, I've left several messages to the OWNER Michel, he claims on FB messenger he will call (or claims he's left a message on my phone but clearly does not). The place is basically a ghost store front that runs on its own. I've had my own in home wig business for over 15 years, have used the (what use to be- amazing Wig Ventilation ladies) for my custom human hair wigs when needed, and now that apparently no longer exists. They claim they can not get custom hair shipped for ventilating by their supplier-(?) so how about looking into another supplier? I order very high end European, Virgin and Remy hair wigs with no problem. If anyone can refer me to a Wig Ventilator please let me know. I don't feel comfortable leaving any wigs with this once trusted business since I feel at this rate they will have an "Out of Business" sign on their door soon. read more

I am so glad I got out of work early and rushed here before it closed for the night! I was looking for a good wig place nearby and saw on Yelp that Wilshire Wigs had a large selection for a cheap price -- they were so right!! And the service was outstanding as well. There is ample parking in the parking lot outside by the way. When you first go in, you'll have to go into the Show Room to browse the wigs and get help. I'm not sure if they have some kind of doctor's office or hair therapy clinic to the right, but if you're waiting for someone to appear at that desk, it's not going to happen. Unless you're specifically waiting for a cilinc visit (or whatever it is they do on that half of the building) I suggest just going straight into the Show Room. Wilshire has wigs upon wigs on every wall, has supplies like different types of caps and combs and extensions, and even private wig dressing rooms!!! Ruby was an outstanding employee: she had a bubbly attitude and was willing to help me try on any wig I fancied. She was quick to recommend better looking ones, and searched for the most cost-effective options for me. I didn't think I would find anything in the end that looked both realistic enough and was a good price, but Ruby showed me a gorgeous long wig for only $50!!!! While I made my purchase Ruby also made sure I knew all the right ways to care for and store the wig (I definitely learned some new things)! Lastly, what really made me give this place 5 stars all around, is that the staff made it clear they would never cut corners (literally) to sacrifice quality. The lady who usually specialized in cutting lace front wigs wasn't working that day. When I purchased other lace fronts elsewhere, the person behind the counter just haphazardly cut the lace with regular scissors and sent me on my way, which later caused the wig to fray. At Wilshire, the staff said they didn't want to chance cutting it incorrectly and offered to cut it for me tomorrow morning if I wanted. However, at the last moment, someone else in the store who was an experienced lace wig cutter came by and helped me out! I got to go home with a great fresh-cut wig. I would come here a thousand more times. Great experience!! read more

Went into Wilshire wigs to get a wig for my mom who's going through chemo. We knew nothing about wigs, having never needed one before. I went up to a woman behind the counter to ask some questions, the woman was very rude and dismissive, and we almost left. We asked another question to a different sales person Ruth. She was amazing and helped us pick out the perfect wig for my mother. She was very knowledgeable was willing to do the extra research to help us find exactly what we needed. She special ordered a wig for my mom and told us we could make an appointment to have it styled there. She even informed us sometimes medical insurance will cover wigs for cancer patients. Today is 09/27/18 I am still waiting for my credit on my account. They never responded to my call or messages was left for them. I am very disappointed the way this company is serving their customers I would never recommend to anyone to buy anything from them. Bunch of thieves are working there, trained to still your money and be ignorant. But I will get my money eventually even if have to take them to small claim court!!!! read more

DO NOT ORDER ONLINE! Wilshire Wigs will gladly take your money, gladly confirm your order via email, but that's it. In April 2018 I ordered 2 items and paid in full for them, but they were never shipped. I sent multiple emails with no response. I called multiple times but you NEVER get a human being when you call them. I left multiple messages. I never received a shipping confirmation, or any other correspondence. A few weeks later, ONE of the TWO items I ordered showed up at my door. Still no shipping confirmation, no correspondence of any kind. The second item never showed up. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau who followed up and tried many times to contact Wilshire Wigs, also to no avail. Finally in January of 2019, Wilshire Wigs responded to the BBB to say they had shipped my order back in April 2018! 10 months later, they say they shipped it. I have yet to receive the second half of my order, or any kind of message or refund or apology or ANYTHING from them. They are a horrible company and if there were negative stars to give, I would do so. There are PLENTY of good places online to buy wigs and hairpieces. I have, since that April 2018 order, spent probably $2,000 happily with these other places. Wilshire missed out on a frequent customer and many sales. I've been waiting weeks for a refund that they said would take 3 to 4 business days. I've made many calls and if I was lucky enough to talk with someone (happened once only), they said they would call me back that day. Never happened and since then, I have been unable to reach a live person by phone. It does no good to leave a message because they don't return calls. After more than 10 years I am still trying to figure out which works best... Telegraph, Pony Express, or Smoke Signals? In over 10 years I have had a human answer the phone one time. ONCE in all that time. I learned quickly when I lived very close to Wilshire Wigs that the only way to schedule an appointment was to walk into the business. But, even doing that employees just walked by without acknowledging my presence 2-3 feet from them. No one ever asked, "Can I help you?" in passing. The 'stylist' there is GREAT! She is the only reason I continue to go there, but scheduling an appointment by phone is next to impossible! No one answers the phone. My messages go unanswered! No requested return calls! The worst customer service I have been trying to reach someone, but no matter what time of the day I call I keep getting your voice mail. On April 11th I placed Order #103195292 online. I received part of that order, ANGIE by Envy - ENVY WIGS - Lighter Red on April 22nd, but to date I have not received GO ALL OUT 10" (S Shades) by Raquel Welch HAIR U WEAR - RL29/33SS for which I was charged $232.90. I have called every day at different hours of the day and all I get is voice mail. My messages and my email are ignored. It is almost a month now and they have not fulfilled their responsibilities for an item I paid for. It is hard to believe that they would have such an incompetent and irresponsible staff who would jeopardize the integrity of the company. Woooooorst customer service ever and first business I run out and drive off as fast as possible. Came here to get a simple consultation regarding clip ins and the staff was completely clueless and overwhelmed. They attended the phones 4 times whilst I was standing at the register instead of quickly asking how to help me. I stood there for 20 minutes like an idiot before some girl with no sense of hair color tried to help out. I have brown hair and she keeps showing me light blonde pieces. I say, the color isn't right, her answer, you can work with it. WTF?! When she attended the phone for the fifth time after only having spent 1 minute with me, I just left the business. Is it possible to give negative stars? Customer service is atrocious! I ordered a few items for a 70's themed party. One of the items was not correct. I called (can never get anyone on the phone when calling BTW, I've always had to leave a message and wait). Finally got a call back about 4 hours later. Informed the associate that I received the incorrect item, to which she argued saying, "We sent you the sideburns you ordered." After about 5 more minutes of discussion, she finally offered to send a replacement (which to her credit I got the next day - today - Friday). The unfortunate news... I received the same incorrect item -- a second time! I called back, left another message, waited yet another 4 hours for a call back, and was once again argued with that what I received was in fact what I ordered. I finally had to point out the price for the item I ordered on my invoice ($19.50) vs the price of what I received ($22.00)... In my eyes, it's pretty easy to see that I was sent the wrong item! Not once... but twice. I understand that mistakes happen, but seriously! Bottom line... Wilshire Wigs... YOU SUCK!!! read more

I took my mom to this wig store as her first store after chemo. This place has a massive selection of synthetic and natural hair wigs. This place had private rooms to try on the wigs, which is a nice touch for someone going through cancer. The place is very clean and organized. I was surprised to see how busy the place was, so at times it became difficult to find help. The sales ladies seemed a bit stressed/overworked. That's where I hope they improve just a bit in the customer service arena. We felt a bit rushed when trying to ask questions about wig care since there were people waiting to be helped. read more

I like the place, but admittedly I've been wearing wigs and hairpieces for 20 years so I know what I am doing. The shop may be daunting for people who are new to wearing these things. The fun part is you can just walk in and pull wigs off their stands and go into private fitting rooms and try them on. It may not be the color you want (these are samples) but you can see if you like how the style looks. When you find what you want take it up to the front and ask to see a color ring. This is where it gets tricky because the staff can be rushed and/or rude. They can also be nice and helpful, but you never know what you'll get on any given day. Stand your ground and wait and you'll be served. Chances are they won't have the color you want in stock - they might - but it's not a guarantee. That means they'll order for you and ship it to your house. You'll pay shipping but that's how it goes. Ground shipping on one wig runs around $8. I've also ordered from wilshirewigs.com and never had any issues but again, I only order things I've worn before in colors I'm familiar with. For anything else I drive to the shop. When I want a new style I usually start at the website and take notes on the brand and then the name of the wig. The wig heads in the shop are marked with this information so I can then try on my choices...along with a bunch of other styles I see because like I said, everything is out. If you're new to all this go with a friend to help you because the staff pretty much assumes you know what to do when you walk in. It helps to have another set of hands to help you try things on and another set of eyes to give you thoughts on how you look in a given style. I give Wilshire Wigs 4 stars instead of 5 ONLY because the staff is not always the greatest in terms of helpfulness and kindness. read more

I had no communication on the status of the order so 3 weeks later, after leaving multiple voice messages, I spoke with a person who stated they would look into the wig order. This was on Feb 21. On Feb 22nd they called to say they were unable to obtain the Ellen Wille wig and would refund my money. It is now March 22nd and the money has not been refunded. I have left voice message for the last 4 days requesting an update on the refund and no one has called back. beware if you place an online order. Customer service is extremely poor! Be very wary when ordering from Wilshire Wigs. Their return policy is NOT as stated and whether you like the product or not, you will be stuck with it. They now have $112.00 dollars of mine PLUS the returned pieces which were sent back pristine and in accordance with the return policy. I was told verbally upon ordering that I could return them should none of these pieces match my natural hair color and if I had to return the items there would be a 20% re-stocking fee, if the return was within 10 days. I returned these items 2nd day UPS with a letter stating that none of the pieces matched my hair color and accepting the 20% re-stocking fee without complaint. Even with the verbal promise, I was denied any portion of the refund owed. This is not a company I would advise doing business with and my best advice is "BUYER BEWARE." read more
