The technicians that came over were friendly and professional - we just can't seem to get any decent customer service. We were told we needed a part for our water heater and were told it would take a couple of days. It was more like a week (with no hot water) and we heard nothing. I had to call a few times to finally get someone to answer why the long wait. A week later we finally got the water heater fixed. Next we needed an estimate for a new furnace, tank and updated water heater. You'd think they'd jump on that opportunity. No such luck. Again, the technician who came over was communicative and professional, and told us to expect an estimate in a day or two. Well - it is now going into the 2nd week. Again, I had to make multiple calls - only to hear we should get something by the end of the week...never happened. If they're this uncaring with a new potential customer how could we trust them with future work? It's so sad when a company with such historically high ratings suddenly goes downhill. read more

After a few days of choking on the smell of unburned oil, we called the first company back and their technician told us the "manifold" was cracked, and we needed a new furnace that they could install for almost $14,000! They also told us "the law" forced them to shut down our furnace (for fear of CO poisoning) over a cold weekend. Hired Wilson Brothers to install a new furnace and a new hot water heater. Their installation team was excellent and did great work. 5 stars for the installation. 1 star for post installation support on the hot water heater. The hot water heater did not make it past warranty. They replaced it with a much lower quality tank, which was disappointing to begin with. However, the new basic tank has weeping and corrosion at all the soldering points in less than 2 years. I called the office again and they said they would replace it, called to say they had the tank ready and that the install needed to be scheduled, then they went dark. After contacting them multiple times via email and phone call, a service manager basically told me they aren't going to do anything. This family-owned business has been bought out by a larger concern and it appears they no longer back their work. Now I need a new hot water system after 3 years. I've recommended lots of people in central MA and southern NH to Wilson Brother's. I can't do that in good faith anymore. read more

I used WBH&AC to do a system check and service a hot water boiler. They replaced a few key parts and then gave the system a clean bill of health. When I started using the system during the winter, it started leaking which it hadn't done before. WB sent 3 different techs over the next few months, none of which could figure out the cause of the leak. A 4th tech came out a few months later and when he opened the cover he discovered a massive corrosion issue and said that the whole system needed to be replaced ASAP to the tune of some $12,000. There's 2 possible scenarios that come to mind with this. Either WB didn't notice (or mention) the massive issue during their initial tuneup and charged me over $1000 for parts on a system that was about to fail imminently. Or WB negligence caused the leak and eventual corrosion costing me an entire new boil out of pocket. Neither of those scenarios give me confidence in the skill or credibility of this company. read more

My wife and I bought our house knowing that the old boiler would need to be replaced sometime soon. We thought we could make it through two winters, but we were naive, and it ended up dying in the middle of winter #2. Luckily it was able to limp along for a month or two until we could schedule an install date. We called Wilson Brothers, and they were very responsive and quick to help. They were able to come out to our house to quote us, and to set a time for installation, which was much sooner than other companies. They updated us every step of the way and were flexible with us when it came to the payment due dates (waiting for credit card statement periods). Wilson Brothers were not the cheapest, nor the most expensive, they were solidly below the average quoted price that we received. During the installation, the technicians were punctual, professional, and very helpful. I asked a lot of questions, and they were happy to explain things to me. The only issue we had was that the two installers could not remove the old boiler. It was far too heavy. I called the office and they were happy to take some off the bill to make up for this. I ended up having somebody come in to take it for scrap cast iron, and it took 5 guys to haul it up the basement steps. Overall it was a pleasant, painless experience, and I hope we can continue to do business with them in the future for our service, and oil needs. read more

Our HOA had our houses power washed. During the washing, the intake pipe to my tankless water heater took a dousing and the equipment shut down. (Sep 2021) Wilson Bros installed a pair of Mitsubishi heat pumps in the downstairs living space of our home. The installation went very well, except for the electrical work. As it turned out, Wilson Bros erroneously installed the Mitsubishi Kumo Cloud, which coordinates the heat pumps with the household oil furnace, so that it would regulate heat flow to the upstairs heating zones, i.e., the bedroom area of the house. The purpose of the Kumo Cloud system is to override the oil furnace when the heat pumps can provide heat with greater energy efficiency. Obviously, installing the system so that it would turn off heat in bedrooms that cannot benefit from the heat produced by the heat pumps was categorically a faulty installation on the part of Wilson Bros. In late October, our bedrooms remained unheated despite the oil furnace's ability to provide heat to the downstairs zones, including those that benefit from the heat provided by the heat pumps. We called for emergency service from the outfit that services the oil furnace because we believed the bedroom zones had no relationship with the heat pumps. We incurred a $150 service fee to learn that our frigid night was the product of Wilson Bros' faulty installation. Wilson Bros' response to our complaint and request for compensation was essentially ignored. Phone calls went unreturned. Our calls were passed from one service contact to another. The matter, we were told, needed to be discussed at the "board meeting". We paid $15,000 for the installation of 2 heat pumps with Wilson Bros. The oversight of wiring the Kumo Cloud system to the wrong heating zone was trivial. Wilson Bros failure to make good on their workmanship was not. read more

We have had good experiences with Wilson Bros. We replaced our heat and water heater adding central A/C about 20 years ago. A couple years later we had a service done by the local oil company and noticed a smell and visible smoke from our chimney. Wilson came out and corrected the issue. Then last summer on the hottest week of the year with visitors in town for our daughter's wedding out A/C quit. We called Wilson and they came out the same day and resolved the issue. I had "my" oil company (who I will not name) come out to service the furnace a couple months back and they told me that my oil tank was compromised, that I would need a new one in the not so distant future. So I asked for a quote from them to replace it. Plus I got 2 other estimates to do the replacement, as anyone doing this kind of job should do. "My" oil company that has been filling and servicing my home for years was over $1000 higher than Wilson Bros. I had a conversation with Tom Wilson, he sent his installation manager out that day. We agreed on a price - That was Tuesday, Today is Thursday, Old Tank gone and the new tank installed - They were here about 4-1/2 hours and bam.. All done! Asked to come out and look at a very slow dripping issue - they have come back four times over the last month each time saying its a different part needed to be replaced and a different technician saying the prior technician didn't understand the problem. Last visit the technician left and we now have a leak of about 2 gallons a day - service manager shows no urgency or recognition of the problem and said it would take over a week to fix. Had a 5 year old Goodman (GMSS96) furnace end up with a cracked Heat exchanger. The replacement exchanger would have taken 3 weeks to obtain (only available though Goodman). Decided to have Wilson Bros change out the entire furnace where we had a few issues in the past. No pressure from Wilson to go with a new furnace whatsoever. They thought it was a shame to replace a 5 year old repairable unit however we went with an American Standard (S9X1) which they sell. Basically an exact replacement (form, fit, function). It was an easy swap and roughly took a whole 2.5 hours to replace and was up and running. Great experience from initial tech analysis, sales, replacement estimator, installation estimator and final install team. Would highly recommend. read more

This BS company told me "aww too bad" its past your free warranty. They wanted to charge me a dispatch fee, hourly fee and gleefully stated that my parts would be covered.
