I have had a few different experiences here. I went when the owner and his wife had been working and also when some younger ladies were working. Completely different experiences, the owner and his wife were completely inviting while the younger team seem to not want to be bothered and just wanted to hang out. Examples I believe both of the ladies where outside smoking then they came in and talked. There was about 10 other people in the bar and they didnt check on anyone. After we left the bar we went to another bar and I ran into another gentleman from Wilson street and asked why he left. He said the bartender was to busy to get him drinks. read more

A +1, his friend, and his friend's wife all wanted to meet up here. Alex A. said it best: "lackluster." It was alright - sort of divey without being a TRUE dive, with some live music (a kid with a harmonica and guitar) and inconsistent service. We were there for hours, and during that time our server seemed to disappear and an owner (?) took over our table when he had time. I really enjoy the selection of beers that Wilson Street Tavern has. This is a less crowded and less expensive Coach House. Absolutely love the fact that I can get a Sierra Nevada Pale for $3.75 here as well as Dale's Pale Ale and Lagunitas brews. While I love the selection of beers that WST has I do have a few issues. Firstly, the idea that this place is the revamped Stoplight should not continue. If you were a regular of stoplight tavern, don't expect it to be the same just based on same location. If that's what you wanted you should have bought the place when it went on the market. The "regulars" of Batavia should go somewhere else because THEY are the ones that don't fit in with the bar, not the other way around. Maybe this is something that WST can't overcome, hopefully they can. I personally never went to The Stoplight because it wasn't inviting, Wilson Street to me is inviting. Secondly, one of the bartenders accused me of not paying for a drink when in fact I paid up front... I brought a $20 bill in to this bar and bought a $5 drink. I paid her cash as she brought me my beer, which to me is customary. Either you pay cash up front, or you give a credit card for them to keep on file, right? Well I paid with cash for my 1 drink and tipped her $1 (20%). Then went home. My friends later texted me saying she claimed I walked out without paying her. Very frustrating to me in the fact that I paid up front and she didn't remember or take a note, or close out my drink order. That's bartending 101 really. But no knock really on the establishment on that one, I just don't like the thought of going in next time and her saying that i owe money when in fact I paid. Thirdly, and I don't know how else this place can fix this issue, is the sound level. Sometimes when it is busy the sound gets amplified due to the enclosed space. Its not that the music is too loud, or the people are too loud, but its the reverberation of the sound off all the wood and flat surfaces. This place needs some sort of fabric or texture on the walls to absorb and deaden some of the bouncing sound waves. Easily enough you could make a picture frame and staple some patterned fabric around it or something to that nature to soften the sound. All in all I will keep coming back to this place as long as they have the beer selection and keep their pricing consistent. read more

I agree with the general Yelp! consensus. This place is sort of tiny, long and narrow. The bartender ran the whole floor and did a good job. The place doesn't have much personality..it's clean but sort of boring and like Jennifer P. mentioned, dive-y but too clean and updated to be an actual dive. I feel like all Batavia bars are kind of the same. Locals, laid back and no frills. I'd stop in for a drink again since the place is chill and the service was good but it's nothing spectacular. read more

Would gve this place five stars if it wasn't for the bartender tonight. Curly brunette bartender needs to get a personality and not have an attitude with people when they come in the bar. I'm generally the nicest and biggest tipper you're ever going to get for a patron in a little bar... but this chick didn't like me or my wife the minute we sat down. No effort, lazy, and an attitude. Hey Curly Sue,...you suck. Had you played your cards right, I would have tipped enough to get another bad tattoo. Will go back probably, but if she is behind the bar we will walk right back out. read more

A nice place for a drink. Not cheap but the ambiance and people are great. They have east side cafe pizzas.

My favorite hang out. The bartenders are friendly. Customer service is excellent. Good variety of IPAs . Great place for mixed drinks. Martinis are super. They can make whatever you like. My fav is mango tango Good wine selection. Also make own sangria and it is awesome. Great camaraderie read more

It is a breath of fresh air compared to other bars in Batavia. Owners are nice and staff is friendly. It is nice to order a pizza, sit back and watch sports. Or if you are anything like my friends, challenge each other a game of darts! We have also brought in a few board games too!! read more

Great place. They have a nice wine list and a variety of beers and ciders as well as cocktails. The owner was very nice. Friendly atmosphere. They sell some snacks and frozen pizza for food but allow food to be brought in from other places as well, due to their limited food offered. They also allow groups to reserve the back area of bar for meetings at no charge. Dart board in back. I will definitely go back again. read more

Wilson Street Tavern is an excellent establishment. They feature a great beer selection, the most reasonable and competitive prices in town and excellent pizza. Ask for the pizza when you go in, the taste and quality will blow you away. Wilson Street Tavern also has free Peanuts, which is always a plus when having a couple cocktails. This is located where "Stop Light Inn" used to be and is completely refurbished with even a wooden outdoor patio that extends several feet onto the sidewalk, where you can sit outside and view the hustle and bustle of the downtown Batavia district.
