Well, what a difference ... we were regular customers, then the pandemic hit, and like all other restaurants it's been difficult to recover, especially staffing! My husband and I went a couple weeks ago, and the side dining rooms were closed, but I am limited, and can't sit on the high top table, they were kind enough to allow us to sit at a regular table. We ordered an appetizer, their rattlesnake bites, they're delicious, a decent size of eight white breast chicken rolled with cheese and bacon, and sprinkled with Cajun seasoning, they're food is not your typical bar food. Went there today, and we noticed they renovated the dining areas, looks so nice! Lots of upcoming special events. Staff is friendly and accommodating! Food is delicious. I've come here at least a dozen times over the past few years and I really want to like this place but I give up. It's pretty decent and unique bar food but the quality is hit or miss and the last time we went the service was atrocious. Server came to our table 3-4 times tops throughout the meal and forgot a drink and all of "build your own" parts of the build your own burger my friend ordered. Had to go to the bar to get a new drink and the soda we ordered. We could see the server inside watching tv instead of actually checking in on us or any other tables, and was so distracted watching the soccer game that I had to walk up front and wave him down to try and pay. Went on a Sunday early evening. Service was super slow. I ordered their soup of the day, 20 min later I received a bowl of vegetables and chicken but no broth. I sent it back asking for some soup with my soup. 25 min later an extremely salty bowl of "soup" came out with random noodles sitting on top. (Basically a bouillon cube and hot water). Wow. I have not been here in a few years. I had a hankering for wings so thought I'd stop. The chicken itself was good, but I did not get the sauces I ordered. My friend had the chicken Sandwich and kettle chips. The chips were inedible- like cardboard. The server was slow to get back and then offered to take the wings back and get the correct sauces. I was afraid they would rinse them and serve them! I also felt it was weird to payfor sauces and rubs all carte. The entire restaurant could use a coat of paint and some repairs. We've been here a few times since Covid and this location is less busy compared to Naperville. The service we had is always pretty good and attentive. The wings taste the same as the ones in Naperville too. My favorite is the sweet chili garlic. I tried the Caribbean jerk and it was okay, not my fave. We do like the waffle fries though. We took some of our fam and they were a little confused with the menu and how to order, and to be honest, it is very overwhelming at first. They just have a lot of choice. Found this place the other day and gave it a try. I order a chicken burrito that was call a "Sucker punch" the waitress suggested that I have the sauce on the side. Glad I did because man it was hot. I've come here quite a bit over the years and I've always ordered 2 orders of wings on the Thursday they are half off. Today it was a problem and it offended me. Why have a special if you don't want to honor it? I ate as much as I could and wanted to take the rest home. My server was excellent. This post isn't against her. I'm sorry but I forgot her name...maybe Jayla or was it Jené. It's not like I'm not going to eat the wings I'm full. I ate 8 wings ( really 4 of hole wings when you put em together). I take Monjaro (however you spell it) for diabetes and it makes you get full fast. I'm single and didn't want to cook later if I eat again and I will have some for lunch. I don't see what the big deal is. Now if I came in and ordered 5 orders and I'm by myself then say something but don't threaten me with rules after the order is placed. Don't come on half price wing nights on Thursday. We came in with a larger group and 1/3 of our food had issues or was missing altogether. The grilled wings were burnt, naked wings were dry and we didn't get our sauces. Two people didn't get their fries. When we asked for things like water, we got eye rolls. On top of that, apparently large groups are charged a "service fee " of 4% on top of a mandatory 25% tip. So plan on an extra 30% vs the typical 20%. I've always heard about the hype and talk about this chain. Today was the day that I finally decided to check it out. Ironically, this was mainly due to luck. The wife and I were running some errands nearby. We stopped by Chilis a block north but this location has been closed since July. Weird...nothing shows up about it? We found this location near the back of the street. Parking could probably get a little busy but luckily we had no issues when we arrived. The hostess asked if we wanted to sit outside or inside, but we picked inside. We ordered the 3 corner pretzel. Wow! This was enough to feed 6-8 people because it was huge. Came with 3 rubs which were honey mustard, roasted garlic, and bacon cheddar. Then it came with 3 sauces, honey sriracha, jalapeno cheddar, and parm garlic. Overall, it was delicious, especially with the different combos between rubs and sauces. For my meal, I decided to try the grilled wings with the honey sriracha. For being the 2nd spiciness item...it was not spicy to me. However, I grew up eating sriracha so maybe that helped. Overall, the food was good. Prices were reasonable, but the food was delicious. I stopped there with my sister for a bite to eat. My sister ordered munch-skins: potatoe skins topped with carnitas, Carolina Q sauce,bacon, cheese, and onions served with sour cream. She loved her potatoe skins. I love Tomatoes so I ordered a BLT, What I got was bacon, a piece of lettuce and NO TOMATO on half my sandwich and the other half was just bacon, no lettuce at all and no tomatoes. It took almost 10 minutes before I saw someone to ask for our waitress. A guy who was in the bar came over instead. I explained the problem and he said something about bringing it on the side. I thought he was going to bring me a new sandwich, instead he brought me two slices of tomato and a couple of pieces of lettuce. By that time my sandwich was cold and I had pretty much lost my appetite. How can you forget to add TOMATO TO A BLT?? OR TOMATOES AND LETTUCE TO A BLT?? AND instead of getting me a fresh sandwich with the required Lettuce and tomatoes, they just gave me a few pieces of lettuce and 2 slices of tomato to fix my sandwich myself. If I wanted to make a BLT - I would have stayed home and made it. At least when the young man checked back with me and I told him it was cold, he said he would discount it. He did only charge half price but under the circumstances, I'm not feeling that was sufficient since I couldn't even enjoy half the sandwich. I'll never go there again. I've worked in the food service industry when I was younger and I was always taught that if there's a problem with a order, you bring them a fresh or order, you don't give them a plate and expect them to fit it themselves. WOWWWWWWWW. Just ordered the A$$ kicked breaded wings for delivery and they did NOT disappoint. I love crosstown's sucker punch sauce but it's a pinch too easy. I saw the A$$ kicked, which is habanero and devil sweat hot sauce so I thought it would be a step up. It was EASILY three steps up but tasty as all heck! My mouth and lips are still burning as I type this but in a reeeeaaaalllly good way if you like spicy stuff. Many many many years ago, as a young lad, my friends and I would challenge each other to hot contests at wing places like hooters and b dubs. If anyone ordered the hottest stuff, part of the challenge was to not drink ANYTHING until you were done with everything. If anyone knows, back in the day three mile island and blazing we're the hottest wings to beat at the aforementioned places. Regularly, we'd all be able to demolish the three mile island wings off because they were so tasty, but blazing was stupid hot for the sake of being hot; the flavor was certainly lacking. Fast forward to today when I ate these monsters. The initial flavor on the A$$ kicked was amazing: sweet and savory, maybe a little smoke; the flavor profile was so complex that I wanted more. I knew after the second one, though, that it was going to be an epic battle. Being hungry, I threw down the next three, enjoying that flavor profile, even being delivered, the wings were crunchy and well breaded. After that fourth wing, things started getting a little hairy. My mouth needed a break, but because I couldn't break certain covenants, I dunked into the blue cheese sauce. It's said that capsaicin can be calmed by dairy; what a lie. Over the next five wings, I was on the verge of hiccups but I was not about to let them them beat me. I had to finish these tasty wings! The last one, (a flap), looked up at me, laughing, knowing that it was going to beat me tonight, or even worse, tomorrow morning. I poured that last remnant of blue cheese on it and stuck it down, wondering why I would do anything so stupid. After I wiped the tears from my eyes and looked down at that styrofoam, I hearkened back to a much simpler time, before kids, before responsibilities. Crosstown has done it again, and if you like spicy, these wings are well worth it. If not for the amazing quality and flavor, but for the days of yore; the days before jobs, bills and taxes, and expectations. Check this place out. My wife and I used to be frequent customers but as time went the food quality and service was diminishing. In fact, we always wondered when it would close. We went Saturday night on a whim and boy have they turned it around. The new focus on monthly food and drink specials is a big win. I had the Tijuana Hot Wings which were some of the best wings I have ever had and I eat them a lot. Be prepared as they seriously are hot which I can take. My wife had the Chicken Fajita Burrito and again it was great. Kudos also on having drink specials that include the weekends. Couple that with great entertainment on the patio and it was a fantastic night. The only reason for not 5 stars is the initial wait for staff was longer than should be expected and I never understand why a sports bar like Crosstown dosen't always have a game on the TVs. Wings: I can see why people would give this place a lower rating because of the extra charges on the wings. I read someone said they charge for celery, which I don't need to get but I know most places will include it. I didn't come to a restaurant to eat celery anyway lol If you want it, then pay extra. Most people don't even eat it and I can see it going to waste. And then there's an extra charge if you want a dry rub (+$1) or sauce (+2) but hey, their wings are really good! Big, variety of rubs/sauce flavors, quality wings, and you can either get them breaded, naked or grilled! They don't charge you for ranch or bleu cheese, and their cups are big. Most places would charge you. I love garlic and to see 3 flavors of garlic is heaven to me. They have Parmesan garlic, garlic buffalo and sweet chili garlic, which I ordered. Although, I do wish they would let you order a different flavor. You can only have all 10 wings one way. Rattlesnake bites: Reminds me of hush puppies but with chicken inside. Looking at them, I didn't think they looked good lol but once I took a bite, juicy chicken, crispy breaded on the outside and cajun flavor! I have been to this location at least 3 times. When I think of restaurants down in Batavia the only one that comes to mind is a little Mexican one near the river. So I was down that way recently I was pleased when a friend suggested we meet for lunch at this here. The place has four rooms, two bars and a nice vibe. Each room has its own character. The room on the southeast corner has the slot machines. The one on the northeast corner has the fireplace. The two on the west side of the building are probably where all the partying happens because the southwest corner has a cool bar, the northwest corner room looks like it would be an overflow room from the bar and both rooms look out onto the patio. When I arrived I found out it was Taco Tuesday! When in Rome... so I had one of each of the tacos. They were good. Each had its own character and were tasty as far as tacos go. I also ordered a soup. I think it might have been chicken tortilla..? Whatever it was, it was gooood. Perfectly seasoned to give my mouth some kick without deadening my tastebuds. Crosstown is a place I wish I had in my neighborhood because of how it feels inside. It's a place where you want to hang out. Especially the main bar. And I imagine the patio is also great in the summer. But what kicked my review up a star from the other 4-star hangouts I've reviewed like this was Eric, our server. He was helpful with food choices, fun, friendly, attentive but not overbearing, and made my visit that much more enjoyable. read more

This place is great! We are always treated well by Sami, the best bartender in the business. We never have to wait for drinks and she already knows everyone's regular orders! They're known for their wings but the burgers and Mexican food are highly underrated. We have made this place a weekly stop because of the top notch service. My daughter said we should try this place for lunch so we did. This place is pretty big. We previously visited this place before. It was a Mexican restaurant. It's looks exactly the same but they put sports memorabilia all over the place. We were greeted right away and ask if we wanted to sit indoor or outside. We choose inside. They have a very large selection of beer. The waitress was very nice and explained everything. Very professional. We tried the appetizer Cheeseheads and its was pretty good. We split an order of wings and did the breaded dry rubs. They were pretty good. I think we should have tried them non breaded wings. Breaded were a little messy. One thing I will say is that the wings are very large. I guess that's a plus. The fries with a side order of cheese was pretty good. Fries were just right and the cheese perfect. Overall this place was alright. I would have given them a better rating but for an appetizer, wings and some fries with one tea for $35.00. I think that's kinda pricey for not having any liquor. I found the Tacos to be very greasy and kinda flavorless, The soup also was very greasy and the broth not beefy at all - just thin onion broth.
