A bit pricey, but they have a good selection of plants. It was easy to find what I was looking for for my planter.

Had heard of this place from coworkers. Wanted to try my hand at planting a vegetable garden this year and was told Wilson's was the place to go. Very large greenhouse, it was my first time there, and honestly it was confusing. I had no sense of direction nor did I know where or how to find the vegetables. Finally after wondering around I found what I needed. It was a Saturday afternoon, so it was packed. It wasn't until I had wondered around and finally found the plants that I was asked if I needed help. I thought they were a bit pricy for what I got. Seems to be geared towards "bulk prices" more you buy, the larger the discount. In the end, I got what I needed. I would return, but perhaps on a less crowded day. read more

Beautiful garden center, but I don't know how they stay in business with shrub prices nearly double what I've seen at Oakland in New Albany. For example, $60 dollars for a fire chief arborvitae of the same size at Oakland is $35. Seems that they are trying to rip off the consumer. It's worth driving elsewhere to save money on a big order. In this area, check out Hope Timber Garden Center instead. It's run by a great family. Edited in response to owner's comment: I do understand many factors go into pricing and that your business is just trying to make it in a tough economy, but so is everyone else. I'm sorry my post hurts your feelings, but the point of yelp is to let others know the good & bad about area businesses so they can decide whether they want to proceed or go elsewhere. At a time when we ALL need to save money, it's fair to let others know when there are better prices available so we can continue to spend while still affording our mortgages. I will say my mom found a good price on a bird bath that she bought while we were there, but plants not so much. read more

I love shopping for plants and I had never been to this garden center. My friend and I decided to take a trip out to Newark! So glad we did! They have so many varieties and sizes of hard to find plants with pretty reasonable prices. Their succulents and cactus varieties very amazing! The staff there were so helpful and even showed us how to sign up for free giveaways and coupons. I bought 3 new plants today and I'm in love with them! It was a great visit and we spent about 2 hours looking around! We will be coming back! read more

I immediately figured out where to go, partially due to the fact that I asked an employee, partially due to the fact that from a quick glance, the obvious place for these plants was outside! Found exactly what I needed and even though they were busy on this Saturday afternoon, they were extremely helpful and friendly. They made sure to take the time to ask to ensure you got what you came there for and ask me so in a timely fashion! Was in and out in under 20 minutes. Thought the prices were reasonable, especially if you are purchasing some of the 4 packs! I would return any day of the week! read more

They have a good selection, but there are some problems. The paperwork they gave me for recommendations of native Ohio plants has a lot of contradicting and questionable information. The staff were not helpful, and I'm wondering if that's connected to their hyper-religious atmosphere. The weird Bible quotes all over the walls made me uncomfortable. Won't be returning. I can get my plants elsewhere without indoctrination. read more

For me the drive out to Wilson's is not worth the experience. I personally feel like they don't have the variety that Oakland does and their prices are eyebrow raising. I can understand how this nursery could be a home run for people who live in the area and don't want to drive into Columbus but where I live I have four or five other options that are closer, cheaper, more variety and honestly just more enjoyable to been in. Staff was friendly though. On another note I found this nursery confusing and frustrating to navigate, plus the landscape areas are unattractive and look unmaintained BUT also has some awesome potential if time and money were invested by the business to care for the this area of the property. read more

This place is gigantic! It's always fun to come here and brouse, even if you're not looking for anything in particular. They have yard decore, flowers, etc. The staff is helpful and the place is kept very nice! Always a treat coming here ! read more

I love Wilson's. It is my go to Garden Center in Central Ohio. I live in a suburb east of Columbus, but it is well worth the drive to go to Wilsons. They have the best selection anywhere in Central, Ohio. There are so many types of perennials including some that are hard to find. The sales associates are very helpful and knowledgeable. read more

Have been buying at wilsons since they opened years ago. The plants are healthy, the staff is knowledgeable, the displays are inspirational, and the popcorn is good too. I go back several times a year and will continue as long as my legs and car will take me. read more

Be very wary of this place. went in to buy a few birthday presents, 1 plant I picked up was sitting by itself on a shelf with a price on the shelf.went to check out I was told that the price on the shelf was wrong and it was $5 more. They only told me this after they rang my credit card up and I enquired why my bill was so high. read more

This place is great. The selection is incredible. For example I wanted to get some rosemary and they had 4-5 different varieties, all signed explaining characteristics. It is very organized and has fabulous selection at very reasonable prices. My husband spent quite some time in the tomato area reading the info on each and making his selections from at least 40 different varieties and all different sizes. The staff is helpful and friendly. Highly recommend the trip from cbus (about 20 mins from I-270 across from the big Longaberger basket HQ). We will be back! read more

I recently received an email informing me of some sales they were having. Sounded good to me, so I drove to Newark from Columbus and tried to buy a 5 foot Tangerine tree ($99) and a Coconut Palm tree sprout ($19.95) hoping to get 20 dollars off as the flier stated, as my total was over $100.00. Sale was for "all TREES, bushes shrubs". After driving from Columbus I was told, "that deal didn't apply to tropicals". The flier didn't say that. The trees I wished to purchase were not even in a section labeled tropicals. Plus it was 5 or 6 feet tall and tangerines grow on trees. I guess trees are not trees everywhere in the world, some are called tropicals at Wilson's Garden Center in Newark Ohio. They got me there by offering a special price, I wanted to buy, but they made up new rules after I drove all the way from Columbus to Newark. They told me they had too many plant types to list all of the exceptions in the sale. I thought you were supposed to disclose all conditions of a sale. They weren't interested in saving a regular customer. Told me sorry for the misunderstanding, but they wouldn't honor the offer, all for 20 dollars. If you get an email or a flier about a sale, I would advise you to call before you drive all the way to Newark. Review with them on the phone the list of exceptions they told me were too numerous to list on their flier. Fool me once etc, I won't go there again. Plenty of equally nice garden centers in Columbus. read more
