They taught us how to make how selections visually appealing and guided us to the right flowers depending on where our pot will reside. My pot will be in my front porch which is shaded and also has some sun. I was able to pick out both shade and sun flowers. The flowers here were so bright and healthy. I was so happy seeing all these beautiful colors and really wanted a job here. It must be heaven to work with the most beautiful flowers every day! I picked out 2 different flowers of different sizes. One grew taller and the other was short. I also picked out the most vibrant pink Colleus plant. I have never seen one so rich pink. This will be my filler. I also got another plant with cool hardy leaves that will also have flowers if they get sunshine for my drooping over the side of my pot plant. I was very happy with my selection and the ladies who worked there were super helpful! My pot came out $10 more than the pre made one but I was able to choose my own selection. This was such a fun event. They also had cookies, meat,cheese and wine inside the main house. I bought a spicy jar of salsa to go.

It is scraggly but it is living. I am hoping warm weather will help. We call it Captain and went to Dill's hoping to find it a Tennille. Alas no chenille plants. Nor did I find any African Daisy's. Plenty of beautiful, ordinary, hanging baskets but if I want ordinary, then I'm heading to the Amish auction. It is a $$$ place which is bad for me. I usually kill plants, quickly. Still the place is full of plants with just about anything else you could want, except a chenille plant. One negative, not in their control, you must cross a VERY VERY BUSY 33. Like there are no openings and you have to gun it and cross the road in halves. Leaving, I refused to reverse myself and cross 33 so I just turned left on this small road and let the GPS do its thing. I think Dill's is worth a look if you are in the area. It is a little too pricey for black thumb me and I don't like crossing busy 33.

The owners are fantastic! They're knowledgeable about gardening. The husband, Jason, is a horticulturalist, and knows his stuff. I'm definitely that crazy plant lady and have been for quite a while. This shop is in downtown Lancaster just around the corner from Main St. It has giant windows in the front and street parking, which I found easily. I absolutely love their aesthetic and how they make the plants front and center. They have a ton of indoor plants and succulents and even rare plants that I can't find at a typical nursery. They also source a lot of beautiful pottery from all around Ohio. Some are even made close to my hometown of Zanesville. I love how they support other creatives. The shop manager was super informative and friendly and the owners are just as special. I'm excited to see them expanding into smaller communities and Lancaster is really lucky to have them. In two days the flowers were dead and i just wasn't happy with them especially for the amount i paid, so i called to to see what they can do about a refund and they gave me a 50% refund which is fine but i tried to tell them that that should probably take better care of their flowers and mid sentence the guy just hung up on me. Definitely better off just going to Kroger and buying $12 flowers than spending $70 at this place. But then i have a friend who owns the " flower pot" on sixth ave in Lancaster and he's hooked me up on a great deal with a variety of different flowers. "Flowers of the good earth" DO BETTER!!!
