For the first time since the pandemic, there are more occupied than empty storefronts in the Wilton Mall. There's a new place in the food court (Salty Dogs) and a second looks about to open up. Dick's, Healthy Living, JC Penney and Homework seem to be doing good business. And--important--the mall is clean and well maintained. There are even live plants in the public spaces. Still, the glory days of the mall (and malls in general) seem to be over. Bon Ton, the movie theater and Sears are gone for good. But Wilton Mall seems to be holding on. Maybe it's not a bad idea to turn the former Bon Ton area into an apartment complex, a controversial proposal. We could be like underground Montreal, living our lives out in the harsh winter without ever venturing outside. I come here to get my steps in when the weather keeps me from walking outside. Two circuits will do you nicely, and just one will give you some healthful exercise. Just watch out for the ubiquitous skinny guy on the posters who reminds us that mall going used to be a madcap social experience. I've always loved this mall. Coming here as a kid. Riding the merry go round with my sibling. To becoming a teenager shopping at hot topic. Then became an older teen:young adult. working at sears. To needing a place to study for my G.E.D. Now being a parent coming here with my husband and children!! I wish the food court had more options. I remember when Pizza Hut and McDonald's were in that mall!! I remember the arcade that was where spencers is. I've heard it has new owners!! Hopefully they can make it somewhat of what it once was. It's a mall but it's not what I'm all used to be because no malls seem to be. It was always relatively easy to access and it was set up well. A lot of the stores that were there when I was a kid are gone. I haven't been there in a long time until today and they do have a good mix of traditional and non-traditional stores and businesses. I do wish they had a few more eateries in their food court but they do have a few I like. I kind of wish they had a gallery seven kind of a setup. They have a few eateries I would like to try but haven't yet.. I have read that they're going to be putting in a apartment building where Bon-Ton used to be so I'm hoping that will put more even more life back into it. The only thing that annoyed me today but also made me happy is that I thought an eatery that I had gone to and liked had closed all because the mall website is not updated. The website offers a list of all the stores with more details and a map location. However doesn't have all the stores and the details are sparse or non-existent. It is really unfair to the tenants and the shoppers. The website is really bad and it doesn't take that much effort to keep a website up to date. The mall was clean and it was bright. I did not have to use the restroom so I can't give any reviews on the bathroom the best bathroom was always in The Bon-Ton that is not open anymore. Just an FYI as until what makes the bathroom great it had doors with walls and ceilings and Floors for the thing called privacy. I do wish everyone had bathrooms like that. All the stores I went to the staff were really friendly and nice and helpful. read more

I use to bring my son down here to play and shop 4 to 5 years ago. I have been here but not ventured out completely. I entered the mall and seem empty. I am 5 minutes away from one of the best malls in the country so let it be known I am spoiled by malls. I have also gone to the best malls in the country. This mall was at least something to do and people working in the stores were very nice. If I lived here I guess I'd be more used to this lol. What do I like best about this mall? It's not overwhelming. It's fairly small compared to other malls in NYS or other areas...but it's great to have it in 'Toga when outdoor activities just aren't in the cards. There are plenty of clothing stores and several "big box" stores are connected: Sears, JC Penney, Dick's and Bon Ton. Other attached stores are Healthy Living and Planet Fitness. There's a movie theater on one end near the food court...maybe one day I'll go to the movies there. The food court? Kinda lame...not much to choose from. There are a few places to take the kids that are like playgrounds and some seating areas for tired spouses. Overall, the mall is clean and I'm happy that it's nearby. read more

Really not even a mall anymore as everything is closed down. There's nobody anywhere. It's like a ghost town. I remember going here years ago as a kid and it being busy. Now it's still the same big box stores and everything new or exciting that tried to shine, got closed down. read more

The Wilton Mall is the shopping mecca for residents of Saratoga Springs. There has been a mall at this location since the 1970s, and the place was recently gutted and remodeled which brought it kicking and screaming into the architectural wonderland of the 1990s. That pretty much summarizes the Wilton Mall. You'll find it along Rte. 50, heading out of Saratoga Springs, and on the other side of the Northway. The mall is tucked behind a series of newer strip shopping malls, but once you discover where to turn in, you'll find plenty of parking. The big box "anchor stores" include Sears, J.C. Penney's, Dick's Sporting Goods, and the Bon-Ton. I wanted to pick up some things at Dick's Sporting Goods, and then locate the socks and undershirts on my Dad's shopping list over at the Bon-Ton. Since it was the middle of the day, the mall was mostly vacant except for some folks getting in their 10,000 steps, and the obligatory motorized wheelchair race between competing senior citizens. By the way, this "race" took place outside of the DMV office, which you'll also find inside of this mall. There is a food court within the mall, and an 8-screen movie theater, but mostly it's just a collection of conveniently-located retail shopping options under one roof. read more

This was my first time to the Wilton Mall in nearly two decades ... it falls into the category of your smaller sub-par/less than great Upstate NY indoor mall. It is located conveniently along route 50, on the outskirts of Saratoga Springs, and on the other side of the Northway. The mall is nestled behind a series of newer strip malls, but once you discover locate it, you will find ample amounts of parking because let's be honest... the mall is just not that busy because there is so many other "newer" strip malls that have popped up in the area. The real question is: how do old school indoor malls compete with giants like Wal-Mart and internet heavy hitters like Amazon/Ebay? These online stores can offer more diverse products at better prices and offer free shipping, so people like myself can shop from the comfort of our own homes - mall what....? (I feel like indoor malls are literally slowly, but surely getting more and more obsolete) But, yes, there are the big corporate "anchor stores" some of which include Sears, J.C. Penney's, Dick's Sporting Goods, the Bon-Ton, Planet Fitness, Home goods, a decent Movie Theater, and a Healthy Living. However, there were several vacant business spaces.... and the food court was rather lacking overall as well. Don't get me wrong... Wilton Mall is certainly not quite as lame and depressing as Aviation Mall, but there is nothing exceptional going on here... I believe this mall does better business because of its location in Saratoga. Overall, there is a somewhat decent selection of stores here, the mall is clean and well kept, but it is not on the same category as Colonie Center nor Crossgates in the Capital District. I would recommend it to anyone who might need to purchase something specific from the health food store or one of the bigger chain anchors, but there would be no reason for me to return to this Mall unless I was absolutely needed to come here for some reason or another. It was verrry slow on a Friday evening there was hardly anyone walking around the mall or in the shops/stores... and similar to Wilton Mall, in certain stores it appeared as though there were hardly any employees working in them, which is why I would rate this Mall as a mediocre two stars at best. read more

It's frequently quiet, but then, there isn't much else to it. A reasonable selection of shops, a small food court and a crummy little theater. *EDIT* - They've yanked out the carousel... No idea why. Oh! And I forgot to point out, there's a DMV in this mall, and unless there's a stupid old un-prepared lady hunching dangerously over the counter trying to transfer her N.C. license to NY without any of the required documents and being told that she can't transfer her license without the proper documents blaring "You mean I'm not going to get my drivers license today!?" in line in front of you it usually goes nice and quickly. read more

This is probably the most depressing mall I've seen in a LONG time, as of yesterday atleast 10% of the stores are closed & there's a bunch of people who have tables set up in the walkways selling random crap that nobody wants. Really, a great idea would be to turn this place into a senior community for people with Memory troubles, other countries have been doing this for years & with such an aging population... it would be a welcomed addition. read more

Oh the Wilton mall! I haven't been here in eight whole years! The mall is still the same as I remember, even though some stores have changed to others. The mall is relatively clean and includes a large variety of stores from individual small owned dollar stores to department stores and beyond! The food court is quite small. Orientaste is delicious and I would rather go there for the general tso than to the Cajun Asian place across. The bathrooms weren't the best, but then again they never were. The Wilton Mall is ok. It's actually pretty convenient when I visit family in the area. I've had pretty good luck, and I like the JC Penney's renovation. But I don't think any of the anchor stores in there are "flagship" quality. What really disappoints me is that the owners nixed the request for a 2-story Boscov's in the mall a few years ago. That would probably be enough to keep me going here more and the malls in Clifton Park or Albany less often. read more

As malls go, it's less than mediocre. I don't care for mall shopping, but I've alway loved to walk and people-watch. It has such an odd layout, though, that it's really not convenient for doing either. The stores aren't anything special -- the usual over-priced anchors and a mishmash of fillers -- and are, in fact, quite depressing. I love smaller chains or local shops, I really do, but when it comes to a hair salon or stylist, I want a name I'm familiar with. Trade Secret. Regis. Get the idea? The odd hair places here give me the willies. Add to that the crazy random dollar store, the REALLY random "gift" store, and the sad state of the pet shop (ugh!), and it saddens me that there's not a better option for indoor entertainment in a place this COLD for a large part of the year. But, at least there's wifi, and a play area that my little guy can't get enough of (whatever happened to the carousel in the food court? those jump houses just are NOT cool!), even if the rules aren't enforced (at all) and some parents don't actually watch their jerk kids. And teenagers seem to think it's totally cool to hang out in there. This isn't the kind of mall that you go to without a specific goal in mind. Go in. Get out. Ew. I will say that at least the bathroom remodel they've done is good. But the only family restroom seems to be in the JC Penney, and their "associates" seem to think it's their own private potty/smoking lounge. read more

Sprint in Wilton Mall Review* Literally the worst customer service I've ever deal with. Let's start from the beginning. I decided to switch from Verizon, seeing how the company and customer service was the worst, until I switched to Sprint and got to see truly horrible customer service. I had to go back to the store 3 times because their computer system was down, so they couldn't activate new accounts. From there I had to deal with the 2 1/2 month process of having my contract from Verizon paid off. This is where all my deep hatred for Sprint comes from. The first time I went in to try and have my contract paid off, like advertised, and promised, the guy I dealt with took my Galaxy s8 and was supposed to send it in, after 3 weeks of not hearing from him or Sprint, which I would like to point out that he said he was going to call me when he was done with the paperwork, never called or emailed, it turns out he never sent it in. After that they finally sent it in, but decided even though I gave them my address, and recieve mail from sprint already, they were going to use a 12 year old address that I haven't lived at in 12 years. I made a point of making sure at least 8 times that the address is not right on my ID, and the right address was on the back (that's how DMV does an address change now), on top of that I gave them a post it note which they stuck to the top of the phone they were sending in. Well they ignored all of that and sent it to an old address. I had called to clear that up, and to change my address once again. That was ignored as well. After that Sprint sent my 3 different emails with 3 different dates, times and amount of arrival and balance for the payout. Fast forward another month and a half, which brings us up to a few days ago. They once again sent out the buy out to the old address. So I called them yesterday, and explained the situation. I was told the manager Sam wouldnt be in until the next day, but he would have him call me first thing when he comes in. After work today I decided to head over there, seeing how i had not received a phone call of any kind from Sprint. Sure enough Sam was there, and I explained the situation once again to him. He was never told I called, or about the situation. He started looking into it, and told me I didnt have to wait around, he would call me when it was handled "no more than a couple of hours" his exact words. I, again, never recieved a phone call from them. I reached out to Sprint, and customer service called me back. After they hung up on me twice, left me on hold for 20 minutes, and transferred me to a 3rd party card service, I finally found out that a new card had been ordered the day before and would take another 7-10 businesses days to get to my right address, assuming they actually do their job right. At this point I was already forced to pay of Verizon (2 months ago now) which cost me $330, the card they are sending is for $284. The absolute worst company for customer service. At least if you call Verizon they just hang up on you. Sprint just out right lies to you both over the phone and in person. I had several friends that were looking to switch to Sprint over the past few weeks, they went to AT&T after hearing out the blatant lies, horrible customer service and general lack of care from every single person I have had to deal with that works for Sprint. The worst company I have ever seen. They managed to make Verizon look good. If I could give them zero stars I would. Avoid at all cost. read more

The Wilton Mall was where you went in college when you were sick of the dorms but couldn't make it to the Crossgates Mall in Albany. There wasn't really anywhere to hang out, the people watching wasn't any good and its food court was really depressing. Its only feature was an H&M that was small and left you wishing they carried that shirt you wanted in your size. Why did I keep going back? When the snow piles are eight feet high in January, there's really nothing else to do. read more

Wilton Mall...My experience is quite different from the previous reviewers, as I manage one of the stores in the mall. I have been in my location for 8+ years and have been successful because of the loyalty of my customers. Sure it's easy to shop @ Colonie or Crossgates because Saratoga is the bedroom community for Albany these days.. I know we have everything a shopper could possibly want without driving (at $4.00 a gallon) to Crossgates, and frankly Crossgates is almost to the point of having armed guards posted at the entrances. Traditionally our mall is quiet, yes but also safe and stress free. There is no *gang* activity, you can park your car without taking your life in your hands, and if you really care about your hair cut, you can go to a more upscale salon...and PAY for it. I have enjoyed the privilege of having many of my customers for years, and they know the importance of shopping locally. Fun is where you find it, and I know you will at Wilton Mall. read more

Very little food court options, Most of the stores cater to women so if you are a man looking for something to buy then go elsewhere. In the years that I have lived in this area, The mall has hasn't changed at all. It's still the same look, Virtually all the same stores. There's no variety and it's just boring to go to. Living where I do, my two choices for malls is either Aviation in Queensbury or This mall, and I choose this mall million times over. The mall security are really nice, and the mall is clean. It is very empty with many closed down stores. I wish the would get a Hollister, because Crossgates is an hour drive for me. Awful experience in one of the stores in this mall. The old gift shops so called manager/cashier yelled at my three year old for playing with a toy( it's a toy store!) He then proceeded to call myself and my two small children retarded( my children are 3 and 5 yrs old). The mall office was closed so we called the after hours number for information on what to do next. A security met us and said there's nothing he can do but this is not the first time ye old gift shop has had complaints About similar experiences. Very frightening that the mall allows such terrible treatment to their customers. I am no longer a customer of the mall at all and will make sure to tell everyone I know about this horrific experience!! read more

4 stars for nostalgia. My mother worked at Saratoga Mall in the 70s ("Pyramid Mall" at the time) so it was only natural that she brought me back to that area to show me around...never a better place to trade Beanie Babies (nothing made my 9 year old self more happy than that). I actually liked the set up of that mall, but of course it was demolished in 1999 so we had no choice but to go next door (I think at that point Wilton Mall had already been open for 8 or 9 years). Anyway, I've been shopping at Wilton ever since and I actually dropped a decent amount of money there yesterday in the pursuit of clothes for my new job. I did find what I needed (at Express and Maurice's), but this isn't all that remarkable because I'm a smaller size. I don't think the mall does a good job of marketing to everyone. Where do Plus sized women shop in here? Big and Tall Men? Petites? Don't tell me The Bon-Ton, or we're going to have to have a chat (unless you're at the makeup counter of course). It's taken a while for Saratoga to build itself up, and thankfully we've had Banana Republic and Gap downtown for some years now. If Wilton Mall had to stand on it's own without the supplement of these stores and downtown boutiques, they'd be screwed. It's not yet built up enough to support the area, but with TJ Maxx, Panera, Target, and other stores nearby, they JUST barely make it. Overall, my biggest pet peeve is the movie theater in this place. Seriously even Clifton Park has a beautiful new theater and that mall was a straight up wreck before they fixed it up (I think I was the only one left who actually walked in there towards the end but really, who else remembers it being a ghost town with only Walden Books remaining?). But at the same time, I do love going to Planet Fitness, I'm excited for The Healthy Living Market to open up, and I did have positive experiences when I worked at the mall during my high school years. Plus, the Pixie Stix cafe is great, nice people, wonderful drinks. Yeah, yeah you've got me right where you want me Wilton Mall and you know I'm going to keep coming back... just stop IDing me to see your rated R movies during the Halloween season, I'm a graduate student now. read more
