First time here. I really enjoyed my visit. The interior inside was like an actual retro diner. It made the atmosphere super enjoyable. I ordered the Florentine Benedict. These were the best poached eggs I have ever had. Everything was fresh and delightful . We spent around $30 for 2 people. The portion and serving size was great. We stopped in as a pit stop on our drive out to Toronto and I had to see what this place was all about. I like the decor of the place and would like to try their breakfast menu items next time. Unbeknownst to me this Wimpy's burger is like a double patty but they are connected the long way so that they stick out on both sides of the bun. It was delicious but a bit messy to eat on the road. It was good that we were parked as I ate it in the car and had to go back inside to wash my hands. I think it was a fair price and the staff was pretty nice. read more

"Peameal" is one of the specialities here --- it's like the stuff I learned as "Canadian bacon", but a little sour and tangy from the brining. Many of the dishes here feature peameal, or can upgrade one of the sides to peameal for an upcharge. Both food and experience were pretty standard diner; a nice change from OnRoute fast food, but maybe not destination restaurant. Great food and ambiance. It was my first time traveling to Canada with relatives from Germany. They had to try Poutine and loved it.

Just ok. We ate here twice on a recent road trip because it's right near the Tesla charging station. Food is pretty good, ambience is interesting (if not bordering on overwhelming), staff is friendly. I wouldn't eat here if I wasn't charging my car though. read more

Classic diner. Feels kind of like a Denny's, and they have 24-hour breakfast. Place is decorated in tons of 50's diner memorabilia. Making a quick overnight trip to Canada. Had to have some poutine. This Wimpy's is located across the street from the Costco parking lot near Roxborough on Wellington just south of the 401. It's been a while since I've been to Wimpy's. I decided to get a bacon cheeseburger (bacon and cheese are add ones to a regular burger) and I made it a combo with a Coke and fries. I was considering getting onion rings as well but our server basically said it would be too much because the serving was huge. I knew the burger is big but I forgot how much fries you actually get. The burgers at Wimpy's are oblong. They're so big they don't fit on the bun they're served on so historically I've always just folded them in half making the burger essentially a "double" burger. I can't imagine asking for a double burger which would be the equivalent to a 4 patty burger after folding occurs. The burgers with the works (no additional charge) come with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, mustard, etc. It makes for a bigger dressed and potentially messier burger. Folding the patty makes it a pretty thick burger and may be difficult to eat because well, the burger could be hard to bite into. read more

I'll gladly pay you tuesday for a hamburger today! I first heard of this place as a teenager. But since we don't have any out west I had to try it when I was in London Ont. Inside, it is very 50's, with metallic blue and red vinyl seats, checkerboard tiles and 50's auto and soft drink memoribilia. I guess King Features syndicate would be all over them if they had any images of Popeye's friend Wimpy... too bad they didn't build the Popeyes Chicken next door rather than down the street, that would be too cute. Service was pretty good, I was seated quickly. The menu has breakfast, lunch and dinner items and they all look quite good. I went with the basic hamburger and fries... OH MY it's huge... I don't think I can eat all that... I will have to take it to my hotel after. OK, after biting into this beast, I was surprised at how delicious the patty is. It tastes a lot like ground steak and it was very tender and cooked perfectly. A very good burger indeed. The fries (what few of them I had room for,) were like my mom cooked them and they were delish! If you are feeling nostalgic and hungry this is so the place for sure. read more

We were in st thomas visiting and decided to give wimpys a try. It was great. Service was quick and friendly. They didn't seem to mind my 3 and a half year old being louder then the average patron. But hey. That's what kids do I had the spicy burger. It was amazing and huge. I brought half my meal home and my wife enjoyed the left overs Dad had bacon and eggs lol. His friend had a western and they both enjoyed them My daughter got grilled cheese and fries and she seemed to like them. But wanted to steal my gravy! The people here are awesome. The cook nailed it and served was very attentive and even offered water when we were done!! Keep it up guys!! read more

Terrible food and EXPENSIVE! A waste of time and money. It's a good thing we were starving.

I've been to the Wimpy's on the north end for breakfast, but unfortunately, I don't live in London anymore, so for this trip here to this one in the south end, I was driving back to Windsor from Guelph, and we stopped for lunch. It wasn't busy and we were seated right away, despite the copious amount of cars outside, perhaps the Costco overflow parked here. I had ordered the Chicken Souvlaki wrap, and cole slaw, which I don't really like, so I didn't eat that. The meal didn't take long at all to come out, it was pretty decent, except for the fact my wrap was majority lettuce. I finished it because I was hungry, and ate all of it, it was really good despite it being a lot of lettuce. Wimpy's has a 50's style diner, which was pretty unique to most diner's. The staff and our server were great, very helpful and patient. The washrooms were clean and the prices weren't that bad. Might stop in again if I am in the area, perhaps for breakfast. read more

There's just something about diners with all day breakfast that makes me happy. Even if I don't think I want breakfast, I usually end up ordering from that side of the menu. I've now been to Wimpy's twice. First visit was a double cheese omelet and strawberry milkshake. The strawberry syrup they use in milkshake is that cloying fake tasting stuff which was a disappointment. I missed that descriptor on the menu. The omelet was pretty tasty, 3 eggs big with some nice melty stringy cheese. Home fries = potato "silver dollars" but still nice. Second visit I totally thought I'd go for something not breakfast-y but the 4 egg supreme western sandwich was egging me on. I got a side of fries which actually comes separately on a side plate, so you get a fair amount. The sandwich hit the spot and fries were crispy. The big surprise was my friend's flashback breakfast that included these GINORMOUS pancakes! They wowed even the table beside us! His last visit was steak & eggs and they do a decent steak. I may need to try a burger next time because the menu pictures has the patty twice the size of the bun and that just makes me wonder why. Passing through on our way to the Falls, and it's a Wimpy's Diner! For real! How can one not stop at Wimpy's Diner?!? So we had dinner here, and what a fun place! Loved how this place was decorated!! Had to try the poutine, because...Canada...it was good, but not really my thing, won't hold that against the restaurant. Burgers were great, and huge! I got the smallest one and it was plenty. My son got the biggest one and couldn't finish it. Reason for 4 stars and not 5 - milkshakes were just ok and the service was a little slow. We had to wait a little bit before we were seated even though the restaurant was nearly empty. The table was sticky, like it hadn't been wiped down. read more

Did not start off promising. It took a long time to sit us once we entered, followed by a long time waiting for our server to take our order. Then the drink order when delivered was wrong, but quickly fixed. Things turned around. Once we submitted our order, the food came relatively quick, was hot, and was very good. I had the Eggs Benedict with Peameal and Home Fries. My wife had a Wrap, I'm don't remember if she had a side or not. Both were very good. Lots of menu choices. I had a hard time deciding what to order. We were given the bill quickly when we were ready to leave. It was only $26, not bad for what we had. We didn't have to wait around to pay. The food was great they give you large portions made exactly how you ask them to. Cannot complain about the price either . The waitresses on the other hand are rude . This could have been 5 starts but I'll never forget the attitude and the carelessness of our waiter. she was miserable and every time she came back to our table she made us feel unwelcome. I am not saying her name because she may of had an off day but if I go back and she's the same I will rewrite about it. Loved the atmosphere, waitress was super, servings were huge, but the food lacked something. A Tex-mex hamburger and a chicken ciabatta sandwich were ordered. Tex-mex could have been better. The spiciness didn't come out that great in it. The chicken on the chicken ciabatta sandwich ended in an awful after taste. Perhaps it is because cheese and a chicken breast don't go together? I was about to hop on the 401 and felt I should eat before hitting the road. I had passed my more usual spots and figured why not try Wimpy's. I have to say, pleasantly surprised. Had the 2 haddock with a side salad. It was good! Prices were nice too :) What made the experience was my server. She was very friendly and did a great job. Didn't hurt that she complimented my eyes but that was after I paid and was already pleased with the place so hopefully that alleviates my bias. This is a fun little spot as its like stepping back in time. Take it for what it is and you'll enjoy it! The shakes looked amazing and most people were having one. It's a diner...actually a chain trying to be a diner. Let's see clean? Yes. Good service? Check. Tasty food? Yeppers. Good value? Absolutely. My husband daughter and I stopped here while road tripping and had breakfast. Peameal bacon, eggs, french toast, bacon and sausage and pancakes. Basted eggs were done correctly (which is apparently a challenge) coffee was drinkable (and I'm a bit of a coffee snob). For a diner it hit all the marks so yeah, 5 stars. Honestly the only complaint is the sausage was too fatty for my taste, but not enough to knock it down a star. Two meals feed three people with some leftover so know the portions are on the large side. read more

The restaurant was clean and well laid out. Service staff were friendly and attentive; breakfast arrived within 8 minutes of ordering. Price was reasonable... lots of options on the menu. The reason my rating isn't a 5 is the portions... and this may come as a surprise. The portion was quite large... and requesting a little less of something was possible but the price would remain the same. Both of us left large amounts of food on our plate - it felt like such a horrible waste. We will definitely order one breakfast and share it next time. We will return. read more

Third strike and you're out. Visiting the Wimpy's at Oxford and Wonderland three times and all had a very negative element. Most recently on our third and final visit discovered a piece of plastic stuck to the bacon. Brought it to the attention of the server who said she would talk to the owner and nothing was done. Asked if I could substitute eggs for bacon on a breakfast order and offered to pay more if necessary and was told that they wouldn't do that. So I asked about a side order of bacon and it came with plastic attached to the bacon. Ordered a garden salad and they brought a Caesar and acted disgusted when we asked for the Garden Salad that we had ordered. Recommendation: Don't go there. read more

Dropped in on way home and ordered take out. Long story short when I saw my order waiting I mentioned to a server that I believed that was mine. I was rudely told that they have other tables and had to finish what they were doing. Ok fair but no need for rudeness. There was another employee standing watching this and doing nothing. When my server passed me my order I asked who the man standing doing nothing was, the manager. Horrible customer service. But wait my burger looked like a football field hanging off a bun and it tasted as horrible as it looked. Never visit this wimpys!!!!!
