It was interesting because I agreed to have the intern/student observe the exam as she attempted to accurately diagnose, and it was very disheartening to see Dr. Byrd exhibit this immature behavior in an educational setting. Dr. Byrd did not effectively diagnose, address the issue at hand, nor recognized concerns mentioned based on contradicting business practices. Unfortunately, after several decades of practical experience, Dr. Byrd has some soft skills to further develop, possibly patient/Dr. communication, interoffice communication, empathy, humility, emotional awareness, problem-solving, and demonstrating diplomacy when faced with conflicting medical assessments, etc... And possibly, just maybe - separate personal issues/unconscious bias from patient treatment/care. Her one 'bad day' left her with one less patient/customer. I'll gladly go back to any of the larger practices I've frequented based off of this horrible experience with Dr. Byrd. I hope the other Doctors at ABFP provide her with the tools she needs to grow as a healthcare provider.
