I normally love love love winco but their shift manager Bree tried to tell me my card was locked for fraud and suspicious activity (I pressed the wrong button on my side of the pinned and told her that) and qhe u said jo that's not right let me just pay and go and she spoke to me like I'm a child and was extremely inappropriately mansplained to me what her screen said like I cared and all I wanted was to pay and leave. Bree is rude and embarrassed me in your store at the register. She needs to be restrained on how to speak to customers. Genuinely worst experience of my life ever going shopping here, was shopping for a good 4 years since winco open because it's always open. Have paid every time not to mention. We got confused going through self checkout I guess forgot to scan milk black beans and quick bake cinnamon rolls. They pulled us aside obviously racially motivated watching us the whole time we paid for all of our groceries just for them to all melt because they called the police and held us in the room. We barely even knew what we did. Trespassed forever and genuinely a mistake. Not like we couldn't pay for any of the food aswell they were being mean not understanding asked for cash to pay for the stuff even though we paid for all our other groceries. It's just weird. Lost a pretty local usual customer. Genuine mistakes happen, there was no understanding horrible way to go. Hire better employees that don't just watch black people as soon as they enter a store. Absolutely terrible. Told me it was state law that I couldn't buy alcohol because my brother went to the store with me and he is under 21 and they sold alcohol to the lady in front of me who had her son in the cart. It's not state law or store policy. I was buying wine. read more

WinCo is - overall - SUPER! Lower prices than any other retail grocery store in the area and their selection of products is outstanding and possibly the BEST in the area! The first thing one is struck by, when one first enters the Bend WinCo, is how BIG the store is; it's HUGE (and I'm not trying to sound like Trump, when I use that adjective)!! Fresh Bakery products are delicious and very reasonably priced - especially the bread! Very competitive prices on carbonated soft drinks. Produce prices are super competitive with other vendors, but be careful; sometimes I've bought produce there that seems to have been very close to its pull date.‍ The Bulk Supplies section is fantastic! WARNING FOR HANDICAPPED/ADA CUSTOMERS (like myself): the one bitch that I have about the Bend WinCo, is that they have neither enough ADA Parking Spaces, close to the store NOR enough available, charged and running, ADA Carts for their ADA customers to use!! (If you're an ADA Customer, I recommend shopping there either VERY EARLY in the day - between 6:00 and 8:00 - or in the evening, after 7:00.) Now I see what the big deal is about WinCo, their prices range from good to amazing. 2 lbs of mandarins for 98 cents?! $2.98 for a pound of taro root is crazy good when compared to another store that sells it for almost $6! They are selling 25 lbs bags of jasmine brown rice for less than $20 which is pretty good.. I could go on and on and on. We have visited the store twice so far. First time was the day after they opened at 8:30am. It was not crowded yet so we got to shop leisurely. Went back again yesterday around 1030am. It was more crowded. In future, I'd go earlier because it does get pretty busy.. I like the layout of the store. The aisles are fairly wide so you don't really bump into people. The staff we encountered were all friendly and helpful. I forgot my $10 coupon both times I went and was told to bring it with my receipt and they will reimburse it for me. I absolutely love winco, however, it's almost like they train their self check out employees to be rude as possible. Always hovering over and judging you if something goes wrong. Today the lady came over and started pushing buttons entering my items for me, for absolutely no reason at all, then when I said I could do it myself and didn't her two inches from my face she got offended. entered some code so I could not add any more items, made me extremely uncomfortable. Large grocery store in the old Shopko location. WinCo is a NW chain, so many are already familiar with it. - spacious - good prices on many items - they have their own store brand - cash, check or debit. No credit cards. - open 24 hours a day I went the first week at about 6 AM (there's a $10 dollar coupon mailer good for the first ten days). Not many customers at all and the store employees do a good job keeping out of your way (you do have to give them some leeway there - the shelves need to be stocked sometime). ***REVIEW specifically for the pre-made sandwiches*** So I love visiting Bend and been here pretty often. Winco is pretty massive with their selection so that's a plus. This review isn't so much about Winco itself but the pre-made sandwiches I recently purchased. You have been warned! So one starving night and not in the mood for cooking, friends and I grabbed a pre-made chicken sandwich, pre-made roast beef sandwich and a pre-made Turkey wrap to split and share. Got home, threw on mayo/mustard on the chicken sandwich. Sliced in half to share and started eating. Few bites in, an odd stringy texture on my tongue. It's a string of black hair! YUK!! The other half of the sandwich my friend got was clear. I couldn't keep eating my half so tossed it and decided to start on the roast beef half. Unbelievably I bit into another black hair right away!! Holy cow!! The chances of this happening twice and one after the other...the universe said "No Sandwiches For You!". I'm still starving and very carefully opened up the Turkey wrap to check the inside. Layer after layer, I'm in the clear. I wasn't too excited to eat it since I wasn't sure what may not be visible and conditions this wrap was made in but visually it looked ok so I ate it. Hopefully management can let corporate know so they either have the vendors clean up their food making process or change vendors. There was a recent How It's Made showing workers making sandwiches with their bare hands (BARF) for companies en masse. All I know is, I'm never buying a pre-made sandwich from anyone. The first time WinCo opened, I called it Disneyland. It was such a happy place because prices were unbelievably low. I think that was just a special thing for their opening. Prices fluctuate or have increased since opening on 2/1/21. PROS: - bulk section is amazing and has so many options, like sushi rice and seasonings. - prices are the best in town - great variety of fruits and vegetables, and usually a good looking selection (as in not about to go bad). If anything I come here for these!! Cons: - Because of the super low prices, the store attracts certain kinds, like it anti-maskers, or homeless. - Not a lot of organic or healthy brands but that's ok. An employee owned, small chain, warehouse-esque store with Bend location near Bend River Mall that opened roughly first quarter 2021 just North of Macy's on highway 97 in the old Shopko building. If you are new to the Winco format you might think of what a store would look like if you shook Costco and Safeway together. I am a native Oregonian and lived in Bend for 18 years until moving to Boise 7 years ago and it was there that I first experienced Winco at 2 locations. This store seems better than either of those. While I am not a warehouse format shopper (if you know Bend you will get it when I say my shopping lane is Newport Avenue Market which is my fav all time grocery) there are 3'ish times a year when I will pop into Winco in Boise. Now living in Bend for a few weeks to care for my ill mom I have already hit that annual visit rate at this store. Not very crowded compared to others at any time of day. Light and bright. Wide aisles. Well stocked shelves and refrigerated cases and freezer cases. Good produce selection but not much organic. Extensive 'bulk bin' selections. I am not a shopper driven by low prices, I value service and quality goods hence my fandom for Newport Avenue Market, but if getting lowest prices on national brands is your shopping lane you will find a good fit here. And kudos to this store for stocking some local Bend brands too like luscious Bonta gelato at under $5 / pint which is a heckuva buy. No credit cards accepted, cash or debit only so plan accordingly. You bag your own - their bags cost a nickel each and if you take your own you get 6 cents credit for each up to 10 total. Friendly employees. Well managed store. Fully ADA compliant. And the very best thing about Winco stores is that there is no piped in music...hooray, I love shopping without it. First time at the NEW WINCO in BEND! Wow! Big, clean, friendly workers! Prices are the BEST in town! Spent $239 and walked out with 10 grocery bags. That is the smallest amount I've spent in years! Sushi is the best than any other grocery store! Fresh! Going back, when I run out of things in a month! Will tell them they have to order more HAAGEN DAAS GREEN TEA ICE CREAM, please! This store is the first place to buy anything. The rest of the grocery stores in town are a rip off. The produce is almost always 99% excellent and you cannot say that about any of the other large chain stores. The Winco brand products are in general equal to or superior to the name brand products at a fraction of the cost. I can get a whole shopping cart of nutritious groceries for a hundred bucks while I see little old ladies spend a hundred bucks for one bag at the other mega stores. I had never been to a WinCo until the one opened in Bend. It's a great place to do your grocery shopping. The store is huge and has an excellent selection of produce almost always cheaper than the other stores in Bend. They also have a massive section of self dispensed dry foodstuffs ranging from sea salt to candies. Very impressive. We are finding that we tend to go there more and more often as the months have gone by. Highly recommended! read more

Once I understood Winco, it became my favorite go to store. Their prices are as good as COSTCO without having to buy a years supply. But, you do have to use your debit card, not a credit card, which I see as positive. No credit card bills on essential food items. The bin food is excellent pricing, although I am disappointed that they moved away from selling California olive oil. But nuts, bread flour, and spices are great to buy in bulk. I would skip Winco brand pasta, but other Winco brands are excellent quality and even better prices. You do have learn how everything is laid out. Every chain has its own unique layout, but once you learn where your Winco puts stuff, all Wincos try to do the same. read more

If you want to get Covid, this is the place to go. Went there Sunday morning and more than 25% (15-20 people) of the patrons DID NOT have a mask on. Who ever the lady manager is who answers the phone is very unprofessional and extremely rude. I was charged three times yesterday for my groceries which almost overdrew my account and I think that it is ridiculous that I have to go out of my way to go down there with a printout to prove that you charged me 3 times. This is your problem not mine. And the way she talked to me was not okay. I shop here regularly, so do all 6 of my roommates. Not anymore after how she treated me. I'm in utter disbelief with her attitude. I'm goi g to get ahold of corporate. I'm sure I'm not the only one who she has been rude too! You are not able to do self checkout if you have over 15 items. Their regular check out is rushed, and chaotic and the consumer not only unloads the cart but is expected to run to the other side and bag things and somehow pay all at the same time. Before you are done they start checking in someone else. I shop for my sister who is handicapped and like to sort as I bag. Sadly I was told I could not use self check out because I had to many groceries and I refuse to use their high pressured and frustrating long lines. This is a review about a problematic employee and no management available, not the food quality. A cart return employee with purple hair kicked trash at my car twice when I was parked in the Winco parking lot. I am appalled that employees do not care about their customer's cars or removing trash from the parking lot. I called the Winco store several times and my call was never answered. I do not feel safe leaving my car unattended in this parking lot, next time a rock may be kicked into my car causing damage. Additionally, I observed her jumping on the cart returns, which could result in more damage. read more

I like the store and prices. My one big issue is I feel like I'm in a pet store. Dogs everywhere! Barking dogs! I even saw a dog in the cart. Nasty. No employee's or manager does anything. It's not only dirty but against the law. I know people feel entitled and don't care about others so they bring Fido with them however this is a food store and enforcement should be required. Spacious store with lots of checkout capacity. Selection of organic products is minimal, and prices on those items appear to be no different than other stores with greater selection. Disappointing that a brand new store in 2021 would have outdated electronics at checkout. Payment card processors don't accept any mobile pay or contact-less debit cards. I had to pay cash. The prices are shockingly low, the store is clean, the staff is friendly, and the store is well stocked. However, the produce and the meat department were disorganized and would benefit greatly from a better layout and signage. The only other complaint and it's a minor one is that I wish they had a basic map available, as such a large store is a bit difficult to navigate especially the first time.
