Veggie tempura, eel and white tuna sushi, spicy tuna roll, spicy salmon roll, and regular salmon roll.

We thought to order light sushi takeout for dinner. Some of the dinner party does not like to eat shrimp, crab, or any shellfish. So why eat sushi you ask? Well, one, I can my kind of sushi next time; two, they still want their sushi cravings to be satisfied; and three, I was not that hungry, so I didn't mind not having my sushi galore moment. What did we order then? Eel sushi and white tuna sushi; spicy and original tuna and salmon rolls; wontons and vegetable tempuras (broccoli, yam, eggplant, mushrooms, and onion). The fish were fresh. The spicy rolls were tasty, of course, not as spicy as I would like, but it's doable. The rice portion is okay for the roll. The rice portion for the sushi pieces were a bit more than I usually get from other restaurants. I like the fish portion to be 3 to 4mm thick as supposed to 2mm. I know this sounds silly since the difference is only 1mm but when you see the difference, then you would be nitpicking it, too. The rice is just to balance the taste, lol, that's why I don't want it much. Yes, I know there is sashimi, of course, but I didn't order this time. Over all, I give this restaurant a four because I've been to worse restaurants but Wind is better than most sushi restaurants operating in smaller town/city outside of the GTA. Fresh fish, check. Rice is plump and soft, check. Creativity in preparation of the rolls, half-check. Way edible, check check. Would I go again if I'm in the area, yes and will be checked.

I was sceptical at first as I read reviews being not so good, but I must say when I went there the service was excellent and the food was very good for an all you can eat sushi restaurant. I definitely will go back atleast one more time to see if it is exactly as it was the first time!

Decent for being a sushi place in keswick. Service needs some attention as staff were not so friendly.

They made a mistake saying 2 adults 2 seniors but it was supposed to be 1 adult and 2 seniors but they fixed it even before we complained! And we couldn't finish and they said " don't worry about it have a happy new year" then talked about how they liked a certain dessert and those staff were so nice and was a great experience! Would definitely come back when in town!

Here's why: PROS: Location - off a main road, easy to find, parking is free Menu options - Good selection of items Taste & Presentation of food - Very good... food was tasty (with the exception of the Pad Thai in my opinion) and the seafood was fresh. Portions were good too. Service - Very attentive, quick and professional staff; conversation toward the end made them even better! Value - Price for all you can eat was very reasonable, worth it if you ask me! CONS: Ambiance - Floor was slippery (literally the entire floor surface, as though it had buildup of substance, it was odd.). Also the seating and general look of the place is quite old & outdated. IN SUMMARY: Overall ambiance is a factor in deciding on a restaurant, but is more important to me for a special occasion or on date night. When I dine out, taste, service and value are what mean the most to me. As for this restaurant, I would for sure go back! It's a great little local spot. As I upload the pics I'm also getting hungry again and that's always a good sign!!!

The service is incredible here, and the vibe is cool-chic. Just loving the atmosphere here…read more As for the food, don't expect it to be a "traditional Izakaya" here, but that's not a bad thing. They do the "traditional" dishes with a twist / fusion. For example, the black cod is usually feel heavy with the miso based sauce, but they added some acidity to the sauce and they made the black cod taste rich and light (not to mention the black cod was perfectly cooked); traditionally the Brussels Sprouts would be finished by tossing balsamic vinegar over it. Sometimes that would still feel heavy. Instead, they tossed it with strawberry vinaigrette. So the acidity is very light and not too sweet. We finished our meal with the Yokai Signature Maki. Yes, they SHOULD be proud of this Maki enough to put their name on it. They hit it on the nail with the taste profile. I have a zero tolerance with spiciness, so they put the spicy mayo on the side, and I encouraged my wife to dip the Maki with it. She confirmed my suspicion that the spicy mayo took the maki to another level. We definitely will come to try other dishes. Edit: they comped us a slice of Matcha Cheesecake. While it is still not my cup of tea, but I was very impressed with how good it taste. My "dislike" is with cheesecakes because they feel heavy. Though it is still on the heavy side for me, but as soon as I spoon in a bit of the strawberry sauce, it just lightened up the whole thing. They have successfully amazed me with how well they play with taste.

I felt I had to shout in order for my friend to hear me who was sitting right across from me. I ordered: - brussel sprouts ($12) - tasty but salty - shrimp risotto ($22) - rice uncooked & salty - corn croquette ($10) - this was good - skewers sampler ($34) - quite overpriced for 6 skewers - forgot what drink was call but it was $8-$10 and was also very bland Everything was just overly salty. The only items I would order again is the brussel sprouts and corn croquette. However, portion size was quite small and not worth it overall.

The order taking and service itself was quite longer than we would've thought it would be. We probably waited for our order for at least 15 min. We ordered the Chirashu Ramen, Tonkotsu Miso and Agedashi Tofu. However, Sapporo Miso Ramen was mistakenly served to us instead of the Tonkotsu Miso which was quite disappointing. The food were great. The broths were light and nicely balanced with flavour, not too salty. The shrimps in the Sapporo Miso Ramen were cooked perfectly but the pork in the Chirashu Ramen was a bit chewy. The soy sauce served with the Agedashi Tofu had a hint of sweetness which was quite refreshing to the palate. Overall, the food satisfied our cravings but the promptness and accuracy of the service could be improved.

Service was very attentive, with staff clearing bowls and refilling water frequently. It's quite a small restaurant with very little seating (we saw lots of people turned away during peak dinner hours), so a reservation is recommended on Fridays or weekends. Overall a nice spot and would visit again.
