The system needed replacing so we scheduled an 8AM start the next day for a complete new system installation. I was offered space heaters for my home, which was a very nice gesture. Because of the age of my system, I already had an idea of the replacement cost. Lambert's quote was well within the ballpark. No matter who you are, writing a big check can be stressful. Lambert's allowed me to purchase the heating component on the day of install and wait until spring to proceed with replacing and paying for the central air component. The technicians arrived on-time and were both professional and personable. The job's director, Sal, is a credit to the profession and the owner, Scott Lambert, came mid-day to address any questions or concerns I had, of which there were none. Everyone took great care with my home as if it were a million dollar property! Included in the job was a hardwired with battery backup carbon monoxide detector installed by the unit. I really like the new digital thermostat provided and large box of air filters...every little bit counts! If you are like me and do not have time to call 3 different vendors and price shop over what may amount to be a few hundred dollars difference between them, have comfort in calling Lambert's Plumbing and Heating 1st. The only benefit I am receiving from writing this review is knowing that my truthful experience might be realized by another future customer and they too will pass the recommendation on. I've had my ups & downs with plumbers over the years, and was feeling relatively secure I had…read moresomeone to call on as necessary but now my former plumber won't drive the 40 miles from his house to mine any more without a signficant surcharge (really? it's only 40 miles) and a wait of more than a few days to arrive. Without a super-solid review I could latch on to, I was hesitant to work with someone new, but I needed to fix a couple of leaky toilets. I called Mayflower Plumbing at 9:00am, explained the problem to Donny, and said I had only a small window of opportunity to get the work done, so he suggested that he come by and look things over the same day -shocker #1! And he was exactly on time, accurately updating me with his ETA as the appointment time drew close, and arriving exactly on time as promised- shocker #2! These guys are great! Polite,calm and courteous, Donny arrived and introduced himself, looked things over and immediately made me feel significantly less stressed . He explained how he was going to figure things out and introduced his brother Paul, equally courteous and professional. They got to work, organized and explaining things to me along the way. They began to diagnose the problems with two toilets, and as Donny said "we won't fix what isn't broken" so I felt that the leak would be fixed and realtively confident that I wouldn't be paying for work that wasn't necessary. Turned out to be a very minor problem (woo hoo) easily (and less expensively) fixed without a major overhaul. Turned out they left my toilets fixed as well as cleaner than when they arrived! They worked neatly, and in less than 90 minutes had fixed everything, picked up every last bit of trash, installed new toilet seats, dropped the trash in my garage as I asked them to, and even replaced the little zen garden I keep on the tank of one toilet that I had removed before they arrived. Plus - they came in well under $200 (shocker #3) for the whole deal which made me very, very happy. They back up their work, they're professional and experienced and didn't 'fix anything that wasn't broken" as Donny promised! Now that I found a new plumber, I'm already planning the next project without stress!

He even seemed like he was going to come to the house until he asked my address. If he wasn't already unprofessional in that he called back some young girl and ignored his prior scheduled visit, I never expected him to start chastising me and MOCKING my mother's request for service! His response to my telling him my address was "Do you know how insulting it is that you need me to come work on the unit but have had other guys service it since I've been there last. But you need help now?" He then started mimicking the conversation he had with my mother. Professional. I told him that he was unavailable for our last two requests over the past two years and that he couldn't expect us to sit and shiver until his schedule freed up. His response: he works for a living. My advice: We all "work for a living" and given this guys ridiculous behavior, our money is better spent anywhere else. The man had no intention of coming to the house, but left my mother hanging all day expecting him to show to the house. His actions left us without heat for the night.
