There's just a few things holding me back…read more If you're looking to ride horses in the GP area, and are willing to shell out an extra car payment a month, then this is the place to go. They accept riders of all ages and ability. However, I do believe there is currently a wait list. The property is huge and very welcoming. I do suggest calling and setting up a tour, if possible. The schooling staff couldn't be more nice and helpful. If and when you or your littles do get into a class, there are indoor viewing lounges to watch the lessons and keep warm or cool, depending on the season. You can also observe from inside the arena as to be able to hear all that is going on. The lounges are quite cozy with plenty of comfortable seating and some playthings to keep any siblings entertained. But do make sure they are entertained as horseplay and loud noises are a big no-no around the 700lb+ animals that can get spooked and spill a rider. The students are expected to help get the horses ready (tacked) for each lesson. As well as getting the horses untacked afterwards. Depending on the age and ability of the student, the staff will help and teach along the way. But as you/they progress this responsibility falls to the student. Parents will have to assist or at least accompany the student for about a half hour prior and at the end. Now, for the "bad" bits... -Some of the other rooms and areas of the property need a lot of love. As I said, it is a huge property that obviously was a bit run down by previous ownership. There does seem to be constant upgrading and in due time it should all be quite nice. -The barn, in particular can be VERY dirty at times. Lots of cobwebs and poop and birds and bird droppings and dust. A lot of dust. This is no barn for a clean freak. I assume it comes with the territory. -The prices for lesson packages are astronomical. We're talking upwards of $100 per weekly lesson. With a little research, one could find the same type/style of lesson at half the cost elsewhere. But, as noted earlier, the facility itself and the ideal location (especially for Grosse Pointers with gobs of disposable income) justify some of the high pricing. Otherwise, you're traveling at least 25 minutes to next closest location. -The entire facility is also shared with Boarders. People who keep their horses stabled at the barn. The school horses only take up about 25% percent of the stalls. The boarders walk around as if they own the place (they kinda do) and some have no qualms about telling you how they think you should be acting at their "club". However, some are equally as pleasant and helpful. They do tend to occupy one side of the very large U shaped barn. The school is only on the other side. So, interaction is quite minimal. -One other minor issue is the fact that there is no "Western Style" riding focus. It's all Dressage and Jumping. All in all, if you've got the money to spend and a healthy stick-to-it-iveness attitude, this is the place for you.

My kid asked the employee sitting by the zip line on her phone to ride the bull and she said later. She was sitting there on her phone almost the entire time we were there. We ended up having to ask someone else before we left because my kid didn't want to ask her again. Everyone else was super nice and opened up any station we asked for.

The program is very reasonable IF you don't need extra hours (regular hours are only 10-4). After extra hours and add on extracurriculars for 2 kids, I end up spending about $2400 for 7 weeks. Meals are not provided. Kids are split into age appropriate groups. Sports and other activities are offered.

I would be cautious if booking a party…read more It's very hard to rate because the facility is a 5 star, I don't know about the gymnastics aspect, but for having a party, it's a 0! They are new, (open about 2 months) so they are still learning, and there is quite a bit that they need to learn. My first issue, pricing. $450 for a party of 10 kids. That does not include the adults. I was planning on feeding my adults. They wanted $60 extra for the additional seating/aka bigger room (which was fine) on top of that they wanted $9 per adult, AND then the cost of the additional food for the parents!!! So that's an extra $200 for only 10 parents. Once they found out, I was not paying for the adults. They refunded my $60 back threw me in a small room and had all my adult standing along the wall. Don't ask me why they just didn't keep the $60 and provide a bigger room with seating for my parents. It didn't make any sense. If you have adults in your party, they have to stand?! Secondly, they control the entire party, which is great if that's what you're looking for. 1:You're not allowed to bring a cake, they offer cupcakes and when they sang happy birthday, they didn't even put a candle in it. SMH 2: decoration, they have two options, sports or princess, if you don't pick one of their options, then they charge you additionally 3: I ordered a popcorn machine as an add-on. The popcorn is popped while the kids are playing and they place it in bags on the table which I felt it was just there, no one cared. It would be exciting for the kids if they said popcorn time and every kid stood in line with a bag and they scoop some in their bag. 4: they give you two hosts and you have to tip both of them which a party with 10 kids does not need two hosts. In my opinion, they need to step back and let the parents feel like they have control over their child's party. All of the parents that attended my daughter's party had the same views & opinions. I thought it was gonna be a great venue and everyone would wanna have their child's party there. All of my party guests said it was a waste and they were not impressed. On a sidenote, the manager in charge (I think her name was Lauren) chased down a mother in my party because I did not pay for her for open gym. She was watching some of the girls not participating, but she had her mom sign a waiver, (which is understandable)and then proceeded to charge her $20 for watching less than 40 minutes of open gym. With how much I paid and how bad it looks on your facility. A better approach would have been to tell the girl, she didn't have a waiver signed, and they don't allow anyone to watch so have her come out of the gym. Positive experiences hardly get recognized, unfortunately negative experiences stick.

I decided to check it out today with all 3 of my kids and I'm very glad i did. Checking in was easy and the staff is very friendly and helpful. There are several different stations and play areas set up in a large space but luckily you can see pretty much everything around you if your kids decide to head in different directions like mine did lol they really enjoyed the large bounce house, bubble machine, chalk area, swings, and reading area. There is also a climbing wall and computer area. They have a hair salon on site which is very cool and convenient but it was not open when we arrived. I have heard they do a great job with the kids though. It is $7 per child and $3 per adult for admission but you can get an unlimited membership for $45 a month which includes 1 haircut and a pizza dinner every month as well. Very good deal. Rosie's is probably the best park on the east side…read more They have a BMX dirt trail, including a halfpipe for bikes and skateboarders, a 1 mile paved walk/hike/bike trail, restrooms, and a skating rink that's inline in the summer, and ice in the winter. We used to take walks on the trail once or twice a week last summer. It's a great trail - the 30 acres or so are equal parts field and forest, and the trail goes through both. It's a nice place to get away without having to drive all the way out to Stony Creek park. The trail really is beautiful and so relaxing... Were I to get back into inline skating, I'd certainly come here. The trail, plus that halfpipe really makes it a great place for kids and adults alike to come and let loose on wheels. If you're at all sporty and looking for a place that's free and close to you, this would be Rosie's!
