Working with this company has been an absolutely terrible experience! There have been a variety of…read moreproblems I've encountered. 1. OVERCHARGED! After all payments were made (except the $1500 final payment) they charged me more! The total contract amount was $57,240. We made a change to the size of the concrete decking on 9/29/21. The Owner/Contractor came out and measured the area on 10/1/21 and told me that the change order amount was $3,900 minus a $500 credit because I paid the sprinkler sub directly. This amount was due prior to any concrete being poured. I promptly paid that amount on 10/1/21 prior to any concrete being poured. The total contract value including change orders was $60,340. On 11/9/21 while plaster was being installed, the owner asked me if I could provide him with the amounts that I had paid him. I emailed him copies of the checks. He called me back saying we had a problem. The concrete cost more than what I was charged and he wanted another $6000. I refused to pay any more than what we had already agreed to. At this time he told me that he was out of money and he was not able to buy my equipment. I ended up purchasing the equipment myself but was not able to obtain the salt cell or cleaning robot. The Owner/Contractor is still not providing these items as he says he is out of money. 2. Work not completed... The Owner/Contractor has been to the house numerous times and says he will complete items, then doesn't. I have had to re-install my own fence, install drain covers on the patio, program my own pool equipment, do all the general clean up, speak with the inspectors, backfill trenches left open, and repair items that he broke on my property sump pump drain box, fence). The Owner/Contractor will say he has to leave to get parts and then not come back. On 12/16/21 I asked him again when I'd have the equipment and when he would finish the final items. He said he'd be happy to set up a meeting and asked for a punch list. I've walked him through each item on site, in person and texted him these items also. Now he wants a "meeting" to go over them or to buy more time. We have texted, spoke, or met on site at least twice a week for the last couple months. I'm not sure what a "meeting" will accomplish if he can't finish the job! 3. Length of Time... On 6/26/21 I signed a contract with Genesis Pools and Patio in Haslet Texas to build a pool at my house. The contract reads that the Contractor shall use its best efforts to achieve substantial completion of the work within 90 days. At the time of writing this it has been 178 days and the pool is still not complete. The contractor has not made a "best effort". Most of the time was spent saying that he was going to show up and then not showing up. He claims that my pool was one of the fastest ever completed and the only reason that was is because I am so persistent. He has told me that he has pools he has been working on for over a year! 4. Promises, promises... The Owner/Contractor has made promises throughout this process and then promptly broken those promises. 8/19/21 - Owner/Contractor told me he needed the check for gunite immediately because the gunite crew was on their way. I wrote him a check for $15,972. Gunite did not happen until 8/23/21. 10/1/21 - Owner/ Contractor needed a check for $17,872 (progress payment plus cost of concrete change order) because the concrete crew and plumber would be there in about an hour. I wrote him the check and no one showed up. Concrete was not poured until 10/15/21. 10/20/21 - Owner contractor told me plaster would be installed early the following week (10/25-10/27). On November 4th he said he was working too hard and had to take some time off. Plaster was finally installed on 11/19. 11/16/21 - Owner/Contractor said he would have equipment on site approximately the day after plaster. No equipment arrived after plaster and the Owner/Contractor said he was out of money. He brought over a temp pump that was made for above ground pools. It didn't work and he said he'd had his business partner come fix it. No one showed up so I fixed it myself 3 days later. On 12/3 the pool was getting dirtier so I went and bought the equipment myself so the new plaster would not be damaged. 5. Communication Style. The Owner/Contractor is terrible at speaking with women. He was demeaning and condescending to my wife to the point that she would not go outside if he was there. He seems to be the type of person that will hang up on you if he doesn't like the way a conversation is going. I took a very passive approach throughout this process in order to keep him working on my pool. He would get mad or hang up anytime I even hinted at sounding frustrated.

July of 2021 Buyer beware of Genesis Pools and Patio in…read moreHaslet Texas! We signed a contract with Genesis Pools and Patio August 28, 2020. We were told that the initial payment was to pull the permit and get started. To date there has never been a permit pulled for this pool. Mike Dennehey and Rick Campbell assured us that our pool would be completed by the end of November. We are now into July 2021 with missing equipment and more empty promises as to when the equipment will be here. Mike told us multiple times that he didn't have any money even though we have paid him in full per the contract agreement with the exception of a small completion retainer. What we have learned is that customer money does not follow their pool build. We've asked where our money went with no answer. One of the sub-contractors told us the reason they weren't coming out to do the plaster on our pool is that Mike has not paid them for the last 5 jobs and owes them thousands of dollars. When the crews do show up to work, they leave trash and debris everywhere. Mike doesn't show up to supervise them so my husband has had to leave our company projects to supervise Mikes crews and complete or redo their work. The quality of work is sub-par at best with different size coping around the pool, the pool floor is bumpy and uneven, the wall with stacked stone was installed incorrectly with large holes and exposed wire mesh backing, one of the sheer descent water features is uneven making a lopsided waterfall and the waterfall steps from the spa into the pool are uneven and different sizes. The whole pool build process has been one long nightmare with excuse after excuse regarding delays. *I have pictures and documentation to prove all above statements.

Short Story: THESE PEOPLE ARE CROOKS…read more They STOLE $4000 from us, knowing what they installed was not going to work and then pretended to try to fix the issue until they finally just ghosted us and blocked my number. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY Long Story: We asked for a Clearview cover for our backyard pergola to be able to use the patio/keep our dog dry when it rains. "No problem!!" they said. We were ADAMANTLY assured that it would be effective despite our concern there was little to no slope on the existing structure. The owner and his son both assured "There may be one to two drips here and there, but nothing we can't caulk to keep this patio dry" --Wonderful! Take my $4000! The first big rain came and there were indeed a few drips. I called and thankfully, they came and caulked the areas like they said they would. Unfortunately it never got better. Even with the smallest shower, our patio was completely soaked, along with my dog. My husband went up to see if there was something he could do and his words were "it looks like a kindergartner was let loose up there". I called after every big rain, begging for them to help us. They would claim to come as soon as it was dry for several days, yet no call back, no follow up, no answers, no nothing. In fact, I called again after having given up for a year (I had had a baby and our dog died) no one ever answered after several attempts. HOWEVER, I called on my husband's phone and they picked up almost immediately. They took $4000 from us, KNOWING that this cover wasn't going to work and then pretended to try and fix the issue until they blocked my number. This is THIEVERY and I will make sure that no one is stolen from them like this again!!! I have given them ample opportunities to fix the issue with no solution in sight. I was just going to give up until I saw an ad that they were still installing these.

I've been more than patient with Danny and Ash in trying to resolve this. They have been evasive and non-responsive through out this process. I have text messages and phone call records to support my statements. I've attempted to file a lawsuit against them. They have denied who they are. I will continue to document and sue this sham of a company. Call me at 214-641-3390 if you want more details. Think about it...It's been over a year and now I'm posting my criticism. Do not be scammed by them or their so call contractors.
