My third time here, as perfect as always. Beautiful inn in a gorgeous setting. My boyfriend and I came up for his birthday. The in has lovely rooms to chose from, lots of delight and surprises, like chicanes and a note on your bed during turn down, tea cookies with afternoon tea, cheese board in the afternoon, beautiful mikes of hiking on the property with a river and waterfall, snowshoes to use, bathrobes and slippers in the room and fireplaces or gas stoves in each room. The inn has lovely places to spend time in. We lived the Tree house room, cute red squirrel visited us outside our room on the tree overlooking gorgeous mountains. A gem

    Amazing views

I loved this quaint inn tucked away in the hills of Vermont. The grounds are spectacular, with peaceful gardens and lovely views you could just watch for hours. The interior is beautiful... every sitting room, dining room, and lounge is perfectly decorated and welcoming. I enjoyed the little touches of tea/coffee and cookies served 3-5 and the complimentary cheeses served during happy hour. The restaurant was amazing! We had dinner and breakfast there and every course of each meal was quite amazing. We stayed in Kate's room which was clean and simple. I think the pool and deck could use a few enhancements and the spa could use more services and available times for the price you are paying. Otherwise an amazing property.

Very bad experience. Women in the reception are very arrogant and unprofessional. Won't stay there again.

It was much more money. I figured I'd get a better rate because my husband was a disabled. I went to the actual website for the hotel itself in Springfield and the people that answer the phone and I don't remember her name right now, but she was amazing so helpful. Help me get straightened out help me to rebook the reservation, but then now is fast forward to yesterday. I came into the hotel. I was greeted very nicely by this beautiful smell in the hallway Like a pine tree Christmas tree good thing which I didn't know was an air freshener I thought at first was the Christmas tree in the hallway.. The girl at the front desk, Emily she was just filling in for her mother, which I didn't know that at first, but she was very professional very outgoing greet you. Good evening welcome when you come in the door explain who I was what I needed she ends up being able to give me a room like two doors from the actual entrance at the back at the handicap entrance. So my John didn't have to walk too far since you don't been sitting for almost 3 hours in the car to get here. It was tough so then we got the wrong. I got settled came down and asked her several questions she had no problem the girl that was doing the cleanup she her name was Donna. She was working and it was her birthday like hello don't even take your birthday off wow I then talk with her for a bit to explain some things about the hotel. Everything is fresh clean bright it's beautiful. I'm sure it looks just as good when it's not decorated for Christmas as it does today it's all decorated people, Christmas, decorations and trees and bows and this fake present under the tree. Everything was just amazing so far so now I'm having breakfast and I got to sleep late for the first time, I can't say how long but breakfast has it starts off with a waffle station then it has four different kinds of fresh juice then it has a cooler that has chocolate milk in it. It has fresh yogurt, cottage cheese, boiled eggs, regular sticks of cheese then they have cold cereal. They have hot cereal. They have fresh yogurt that you can make buffets with they have things and stuff they have three kinds of fresh fruit. They have a bread station that has bagels and English muffins and toast in it with peanut butter and jelly butter Have a microwave for heating. Then their hot station has bacon and sausage, and it also has cheese omelettes and scrambled eggs this morning if two kinds of fresh coffee, hot water for coconut tea. I mean, if you can't find something for breakfast here to eat then you have a problem I had a fresh buttermilk waffle with bacon. Everything looks delicious. Looks amazing fresh I mean this has been absolutely my number one experience in hotel and the best Western of all the times I've stayed I really enjoyed this one if they were all cookie cutter, I would be doing great. I think at one time we did stay at one of the one in Pennsylvania, and that was fantastic as well, but it's nice. You can go more than one and more than one state and it's just the same. I will definitely be back here again up here for a friendly family party tonight, but we're staying till tomorrow so we can have a real short brief vacation and get some sleep without eating anyways and being bothered and stuff. it's also literally a stone stove from the highway exit you cannot go wrong by coming off and using this as a rest stop is definitely something you should come to check out is not till 12 so I mean you have no excuse not to lay in bed. Take your time get some breakfast go back and relax and everything is just top-notch here. Also forgot to put up top all the employees address so professional in the beautiful royal blue best western shirts, nice pair of black pants and sneakers also into a swimming pool, which I'm sure we won't get time to use this time as we're getting super late last night and my husband was very tired and pain and today we have the party, but I will definitely come back and try the pool next time

We had the top accommodation ( nicknamed the penthouse ) all to ourselves and at first glance, we found it to be really nice. The building itself is quite old, but the space is overall well maintained and the rooms were large as well as nice. The space had more than enough room for all of us as well as a decently sized kitchen and a living room. The amount of room we were given was more than sufficient for 8, but we were without water for the entire stay. It was revealed after we checked out that a plumber had uncovered a leak in the pipes which was why the water was failing to get to our unit at the top, but overall, it left us feeling very discouraged as we couldn't shower, wash dishes, or even flush our toilets. We were compensated $100 at the end and were allowed to use another room's shower for the second night ( not the first though since they were fully booked ), but the first night definitely felt rough as we had skiied and snowboarded all day without the ability to shower. The food for breakfast was pretty decent - I enjoyed the complementary meal both days, the first day being a buffet style and the second day being more of an order whatever you'd like due to the smaller crowd. It was pretty standard with eggs, bacon / sausage, pancakes / French toast, and a variety of juices as well as coffee. I would only not recommend the French toast as it was just like bread dipped in egg rather than having the actual flavor of French toast. Overall, I wouldn't mind booking the space again as the staff were kind enough and doing their best, but probably not with the penthouse out of fear of not having water again.

Getting there proved a bit challenging when Google Maps routed us on State Route 121 which has some unpaved sections; luckily going back was easier using Route 35 to Route 11. Arriving at Grafton the first impression was of a classic New England Inn with a welcoming glow on a cold winter night. Entering through the B&B lobby had a great warm and comfortable feeling. The feeling of history is reflected in sign over the front desk showing the many prominent guests who have stayed over the years. The restaurant is classy, burgundy-colored walls with white trim and classic fixtures; a wonderful upscale dining room without being stuffy. They even had live music with a guitarist playing soft rock. Our server was very nice, professional and attentive. The menu combines classics and some interesting touches, I ordered the Bouillabaisse and my friend ordered the Caesar Salad and Chicken Wings. Our food came out quickly. The Caesar salad was huge, the wings were tasty and a generous portion. My Bouillabaisse was excellent a nice tomato and fennel broth loaded expertly prepared scallops, shrimp, mussels and a large fish fillet. The highlight were the large sweet perfectly seared scallops, but all of the seafood were delicious. For me this was a Pescetarian dream dish. We were persuaded to order dessert my friend got the Apple Pie and I got the Skillet Chocolate Chip Cookie topped with vanilla ice cream. Both desserts were sweet and satisfying, a great way to end a wonderful meal. I would strongly recommend having dinner at the Grafton Inn, the food, service and atmosphere are great, prices are reasonable for what you get. This was a perfect way to top off our ski trip with a superior culinary experience.

There are antiques everywhere in the hallways and the rooms carry that same vintage feel, which makes it really fun just to walk around and explore. There is also a library room with a pool table that feels like the cutest vintage lounge space. The pool area was amazing with a large hot tub, a nice pool, and a sauna. At night they have fire pits and complimentary s'mores packs so you can go outside and roast marshmallows. There are also games to borrow, a bar, river access, and so much more. This area of Vermont doesn't have much lodging choice except B&Bs and ski resort condos so for value, this one is worth it. Very convenient- on Rte 30 on the way to Stratton Mountain, Bromley Mountain, Magic Mountain, Manchester outlets, etc. My room and adjoining bathroom were small and quaint but clean and very comfortable. Breakfast is in their restaurant area- delicious food. We didn't try their dinner but it smelled great- apparently, they are a gourmet, multi-star restaurant. They also had afternoon wine & cheese. Owners and staff are really nice and go out of their way to make you feel welcome (it's a little jarring when you travel from city life- at first, you wonder why people are so nice!). An example was breakfast our first morning- we planned to leave for Stratton early without a sitdown breakfast and told the owners ahead of time not to expect us. In the morning, Ed had warm blueberry muffins that he ran out to us as we were packing our car...they were the best muffins I've ever tasted! Note to those who can't do without some modern conveniences- most rooms and their common rooms don't have televisions (yes, it's an old rustic inn in Vermont but if you're stuck inside without a book, it's nice to have the choice to use modern technology). The inn does have a couple of portable DVD players they will lend you if available. There's also spotty cell phone service in this area b/c of the mountains. The decor was nice without being overbearing. Plenty of room, good TV, a desk and couple of comfortable beds. The bathroom was fine with a good shower.
