Walking in the front door- you don't find anyone at the front desk. I breezed in, started wandering around the facility, and nobody was around- the halls were empty of people working there. That seems to be the general feeling of the place- grossly understaffed. My grandmother has been complaining about the fact that she hits the button that calls the nurses, and nobody shows up for five hours. Five Hours. They haven't been able to deliver her prescribed pain medications, because the facility has been out for days. Days. How does a medical facility run out of medicine?! My surgery had been scheduled for 2 weeks after this event, so my family was very concerned that I have someone with me for at least 2-3 days after my discharge. A friend of my daughters gave her a great review of HOME HELPERS-HOME CARE. She talked to the owner, Rachel Fisher, who covered our city in Tx. We made the decision to have them come and help me for 2-3 days. They were very compassionate and efficient. After being here for 2 days and nights, I felt like we were old friends. They gave me the confidence and encouragement to make my surgery a great success. Not only did they attend to my personal needs, there was companionship, my house was kept tidy, helped with meals, washed all the dishes, and did the laundry. They took care of things they did not want me to worry about. As my strength increased we went out for short trips. I even bought a new mattress and finally got my hair cut. They created a safe transion from Hospital to home. They assured me that I could call even after my complete recovery if I needed their help. My daughter and I are thankful we found this wonderful company, Home Helpers Home Care. I hope this business keeps growing and growing. Rachel and James absolutely provide a much needed service.
