I'm sharing my experience so other homeowners can make an informed decision. I signed a contract in August with Window World of Delmarva for a multi-part project that included windows, doors, roofing, and siding. While the roof portion was completed in September, the remainder of the project stalled for months with little progress and ongoing communication issues. A dumpster was placed on my property in September and, aside from being swapped once, has remained there through January with no additional work taking place. This became an ongoing concern for both me and my neighbors. Despite repeated requests, the situation remained unresolved. In October, siding material was delivered that did not match what I had ordered. When I raised the issue, I was told the originally selected product was unavailable in my chosen color and that the delivered product was similar. However, I was not notified of this issue in advance or given the opportunity to approve or decline a substitution. No one was able to clearly explain who authorized the change or why the homeowner was not consulted. I requested to speak with the owner and later asked for a construction manager to meet with me to review the siding work in detail. An on-site appointment was scheduled without confirming my availability. I rearranged my schedule to be home, but the individual did not show up and did not call. There was no follow-up communication afterward. Over time, these issues eroded my confidence in the company's communication and project management. I ultimately requested to disengage from the remaining work because I no longer felt comfortable proceeding. This review is not about pricing or the completed roof itself, but about communication, coordination, and trust. As of January, no work beyond the roof installation in September has moved forward, despite windows and doors having been in the company's possession for months. Based on my experience, I would strongly encourage homeowners to ask detailed questions, get everything in writing, and confirm materials and scheduling expectations very clearly before signing a contract. read more

We just had our windows put in, and in 7 out of 9 windows there were flies in between the new windows. The rep Tom came by and totally blew us off, saying " It's not how it was sealed. It's not us" even suggested we were getting flies because of water nearby. Friends said if the windows were put in right flies wouldn't have gotten in. This particular franchise is taking significant advantage of all the retirees moving to the DE area. Scamming senior citizens is horrible. We have used Window World in the past in numerous other locations with great satisfaction. Other more expensive metro areas. Window World as a whole charges $400 per window installed. The Delmarva window world charges $1000 per window installed. For the same window. Riddle me that, batman. And they are beyond condescending. It is sad seeing all the reviews of people saying how great this franchise is. Ok, here we go. Last year me and my wife purchased an old house in Denton MD. This house has an incredible historical significance as it was the main bank of the many small towns in the choptank area. The house its self was not in bad shape, but as you can picture, needed some TLC. I knew this before I purchased it, and would take on the task of restoration of this property for my family and the preservation of history. However the older windows were in bad shape, and our heating bills often exceeded, 700.00 a month. (oil heat) The house has these wonderful large windows in the front that MUST be preserved, however the smaller ones in the rear and nothing special and worn out. We needed them replaced with more energy efficient windows. This is where window world comes in, they sent me a rep, we worked together in a flawless partnership to get what our house needed. The financing was completed, the price for windows was more affordable than I ever thought. They helped me to work with the historical society to get approval of double hung vinyl windows and meet the needs of the town. The order was a bit slow, as the manufacture was backed up. But after about 90 days the windows were ready. The contractor just left, and I am more than pleased. This contractor was courteous, kind and very careful. We enjoyed each other's company, as the install was done in about 4 hours. He answered all my questions, and I even gave him a tour of the property and explained the significance of the house to the area. I highly recommend that window world continues to use this contractor P-Art construction. The fit of the windows was fantastic, like a glove into the old walls. The difference was felt right away and I am looking forwards to lower oil bills. I had seen some customers unhappy with window world and the contactors on this yelp page, but (maybe I got lucky) I did not have any issues, and will invite them back in a heartbeat in the future for future projects. I have buyer's remorse about doing business with this company. I see their commercials on tv and I fear for the uninitiated who might fall for their schtick. My experience was that the sales pitch was glitchy and the contract had to be reworked, resulting in a higher cost to me. It has been more than 20 weeks since the windows were measured and I still do not have them. The contract says delivery should occur within 12-14 weeks and the salesman said it would likely be sooner than that.. When I call for an update, no one can provide me with definitive information about a delivery date. In fact, even though Covid happened in 2020, the business blamed the delay on the disruption caused by Covid. There is no proactive customer contact about the excessive delay. If I want an update, I have to initiate the inquiry myself. Since June 28th, when I first asked about a delivery status update, I have been told that I should be getting close to delivery. I have never felt so much regret about choosing a company. Don't let their commercial fool you. Their advertisement has not been my experience and I so wish I had gone with a different company. You get what you pay for. Went with Window World because they had the lowest quote. However, was never told that they only have window grids that are 1/2 inch wide. The window grids in my house are all 1 inch wide. After the instillation of a window with 1/2 inch grids, I complained but was told by the salesperson "I'm not sure what else I can do." In addition, the window caulking was bad. Window World acknowledged the bad work and said they will take care of the issue "ASAP." After a month I had to remind the salesperson to fix the caulking mess. They came but the rework was still subpar. I then get a form letter from the company's President "We hope you will enjoy your doors for many years to come." I conclude that Window World is not into the details of a job nor that they "Get Things Done Right." I will not use Window World again. read more

This was a LARGE job: enclosing a patio (18 windows) and replacing 2 high windows at the apex of a cathedral ceiling. The windows look nice and thus far seemed to have been installed properly. The interior wood trim is particularly nice. The project was estimated at 3 days, but took five; since I thought their time estimate was unlikely, I don't care too much. However, I do have issues with their finishing the job. First: it would have been nice if the new windows had been cleaned; it kinda sucks to have something new that then needs work to look presentable. The main problem is that to install the 2 high windows, the crew had to remove exterior siding which they replaced but will not paint to match the building. I live in a condo and am not permitted to change the building exterior - which WW was aware of. WW insists that they will not paint; they suggested that I arrange with the project foreman for the work: he agreed to paint the siding for $150, but now is not answering my calls. I don't have the ability or equipment to get on the roof to paint it myself; I will likely have more expense to hire an exterior painter. WW's price proposal was on par with others I solicited. read more

Responded to a recent ad and coupon from Window World for 10 Double hung windows starting around $6,684 through a little over $7K for windows no larger than 4' by 6'. My windows are 4' by 4'. Their Quote was for over $16k because "no one makes a Double Hung window that large" according to Joe the sale person , so the charge was based on twice the number of windows to fit for nearly three times the cost of the offer. He then Offered slider windows, less costly, more difficult to clean and routinely subject to fogging up for 10K. Not what is advertised getting less quality for more money. Knowing in my mind that this was a bait and switch or simply misleading advertising on their coupon I said I would agree to it with a $200 dollar military discount as they say they endorse Vets but they responded by saying that they had already included a $200 discount although it wasn't reflected on the appraisal. I was expected to assume one was included or to believe the sales rep. I just can't endorse these tactics and would strongly suggest if Window World distributes these coupons to be darn sure to list exclusions and insure they can deliver what they advertised without mentioning to the customer that as a sales person they "hate" these ads. I would never recommend this company to anyone. My 6 windows in my sunroom took 9 months to complete using 4 different crews each one worse than the previous. These crews were so inept and inefficient I couldn't believe it. The office seems to be in disarray also. I finally got the last window fixed by a troubleshooter from the manufacturer. read more

Pathetic. Charged over $500 for a storm door on a double wide. First ,we didn't get the door we ordered. Paid full price and they put a cheaper model and told the sales office it wasn't the same door and she shrugged it off. They gave us a bottom line cheap model with only one pneumatic door closer and no chain. Installers put a small scrap of plywood as a shim for the closing latch. I have had to adjust and repair twice. It still won't close on it's own and on a rainy day must be slammed shut. Overpriced, pathetic quality. You have been warned. On March 24th, 2021 a Window world consultant named Dan arrived to give me a quote for replacing all 14 of the windows of my home in Seaford DE. I agreed with the price, signed the contract and I paid in full that day. On March 30th, 2021 Window world cashed my check for the amount of $6563.75. I was quoted 12 weeks from the date of measure for delivery. The measurement appointment was scheduled for April 14th, 2021 so my approximate date of delivery would be July 7th, 2021. A couple of days after the window tech came out to measure, I was informed by Dan he had "missed counted" the windows, and did not quote me appropriately for our large bathroom window. Dan then attempted to add an addendum for an additional $600. After several calls, the GM Chris agreed to honor the original contract. We ended up waiting until September 17th for the original install date which was 22 weeks from the date of measure. When the crew arrived they installed all of the windows well. However, our large bathroom window was broken and needed to be re-ordered. We had to wait an additional 5 weeks for the new window. On 10/20/21 the crew arrives and the window is 4 inches too short. Again we were told we would have to wait for a new window. After an additional 5 weeks, install was scheduled for 11/26/21. The crew arrives and after removing my old window the installer reports to me the frame of the window is broken and I will AGAIN need a new window. This will be the 4th window. I am outraged and the management continues to blame everyone else. I have been the one to initiate contact each time and the company does not seem to be worried about me. Especially since they have my money already. I have not once asked for financial compensation or been offered any sort of remedy. At this point, we have been waiting 33 weeks for our job to be complete. I just want to be done with this entire process. read more

I`m not impressed with window world, they seem to be very disorganized. It started out normally, the first visit they measured the windows and accepted a deposit. The second visit to re-measure the windows went ok. Things didn`t go so good on their third visit to re-measure the windows. On the third visit they discovered something that they had missed the first 2 times and increased their original estimate by %13. This increase was added well after they had a signed contract and accepted a %50 deposit, which I later discovered seems to be a violation of Maryland law that allows a home improvement contractor to only accept a maximum of 1/3 of the total price as a deposit. so, after 3 visits and a %13 increase in the original estimate they finally order the windows. Two months later they send 1 guy out to install the windows.He installs 5 windows and after removing the 6th window he discovers that the final 4 windows have rotted sills. He leaves the hole, where the 6th window was,packs up and leaves. We spent 4 days getting the last 4 sills replaced.We then called window world to have the last 4 windows installed.We were told that it will be a minimum of at least 2 weeks until they can return and finish the job. With temperatures dipping into the 20`s at night we now have 4 large holes in our wall (where the old windows were) covered with plastic and at least another week until window world can come back and finish the job. It seems to me that window world should postpone a job that they haven't started yet in order to finish this job.another job that they haven`t started yet still has windows (old windows) while we have NO windows neither the old windows nor the new windows, just 4 holes covered in plastic. They seem to be very disorganized. 1) Three visits to re-measure the windows before even ordering the windows and a %13 increase in the price on the last visit. after already accepting a deposit for the original price. 2) An installation schedule which makes no allowance for unexpected installation problems. 3) No contingency plan for dealing with unexpected installation problems other than to pack up and leave and return at some distance future date. Window world isn`t horrible but they seem to need to put a little more effort towards details and organization. Horrible experience dealing with WW. I would not recommend this company. We hired WW to replace 3 basement windows and have had 5 problems so far. Problem #1: Had initial estimate from WW to replace 3 basement windows on Sept. 13.; yet, windows didn't come in until early Nov! Problem #2: When windows finally did come, one of the windows was the wrong size (keep in mind these windows are "custom" made)! Problem #3: Not only was the window the wrong size, but upon installation, we were told that we had to get our gas line re-routed. Now, this wouldn't have been a problem if it weren't for the fact that WW explicitly told us that we did have to do this when they measured our windows, telling us "they'd work around it; no need for rerouting". Problem #4: WW stuck a piece of plywood to cover up a hole leading to our basement...new window will not arrive for another month. Problem #5: Installation of the two windows, which happened to be the correct size, is horrible. Looks very unprofessional. In fact, after opening one of the windows I could not get it closed -- Had to have another WW rep come out to close the window. Apparently, the installer didn't fully screw in screws. Gaps between window and outside. Absolutely horrible installation. Our experience with this company could not have been worse. read more

Very unprofessional. The sales person talk to us like we were kids. The company did a very poor job. They did not trim off the excess puddy off the frame of window. They just left it on the panel around the window. They did not clean up after the job. We had to call them several time to look at the finish job. They found nothing wrong with the job. We used this business to replace 2 picture windows and 4 regular sized windows. The guys who came did a terrible job. It was evident that the windows did not fit properly and he never caulked the outside. It took 2 months of constant phone calls to get someone to come back and correct the poor job and to finish the job. During this time my husband tried reaching the owner of the company to no avail. The guy has the nerve to have a local television advertisement saying how standup a company they are, and cannot take the time to respond to a present customer. The guy who came to fix the bad job bitched about the other employee the whole time he was fixing the mess. What an unprofessional company. Too bad for them that they did not do a good job for us. We have 42 window in our house and we were just at the beginning of the replacement process. Had them come out to measure and provide an estimate back in May of this year to replace my patio sliding glass door; called them back on two separate occasions with questions on estimate and proposed new door; both calls resulted in a "will get back with you"; however, I never heard back from them!
