I put my 50% deposit on August 8th 2019 for 2 full windows and 1 half bathroom. They stated the windows would be installed late November. Never happened, it took until today December 18th to get them installed. So it took them over 4 months to get 2.5 windows installed. Was called twice the day before to confirm my windows would be the first customer of the day to be installed and to look for them between 8-12. No one called me and I had to call at 11 in order confirm someone was actually coming. The installer finally came at 11:15am and immediately told me he had to go to Home Depot. He returned at 11:50. So their first literal customer of the day had their installation start at 11:50am! They informed me he didn't come until that time because of weather. Even though the day showed the weather was actually better in the morning than afternoon. Again these are 2.5 windows being installed today. It is 4pm and they are still here! It is taking them over 4 hours to 5 hours to complete a 2.5 window install! On Window World's website it states it takes an average of 30 minutes per window. They are on pace for 3 times that time. At 3:30pm the installer just started working on the outside trim. I still cannot let my dogs out because all the trash in the backyard has yet to be picked up. By far the worse Window Company I've ever worked with. These people could have called and informed me they were going to wait until 11 to come, saving me 3 hours of my day. Did they even do that? Nope. 2.5 windows should never take over 4 hours and counting to install! It is now 5pm.... they still haven't finished. Over 5 hours to install 2.5 windows. read more

So I will say I LOVE my windows. They are so easy to wash and they look great. I've had them for a few years. The problem is the customer service if you have any issues. During a tremendous downpour I experienced A LOT of water coming in. This was the first time in 3 years I experienced any issues. I did not know if the water coming in was due to caulking or an issue with the window. I called to have a service person come out. The earliest I could get an appointment was 3 weeks. I was not happy because I wasn't sure what the issue was and were my windows even safe. At 5:00 the night before my appointment they called to say they couldn't make it and the earliest appointment was in TWO WEEKS. I was very unhappy and I was told "I'm sorry you don't understand how our system works." I don't understand your system but I do understand customer service. The technician they sent was just delightful and explained the issues were due to caulking. I paid the fee for him coming to check. You need responsive attention when you are unsure and uncomfortable with damage to windows. This was unresponsive and insensitive. You have a good product but you need customer service read more

Wish I would have read reviews on Yelp. My experience has been very similar to Robert W. Delay after delay after delay. Double billed my credit card. Took 3 calls to reverse 2nd charge. Finally got installed but was missing trim on one window. Many calls later, finally got done. Windows are really no upgrade at all to my 36-year-old windows they took out. Installers destroyed flowers and broke numerous branches off shrubs. I mean, it looked like an elephant came through. On a recent windy day it was noticeably colder in a room with new slider. I noticed the curtain was blowing and the wind was literally blowing directly into the room between the two sliders. I called for service and was told service tech would contact me right away. July 2022: They said they told me that window coverings had to be removed prior to and maybe they did but the yellow estimate form said that they would do it for me. I believed what was in black and white vs what I couldn't really remember from a 2-min phone call. They ended up taking off window coverings and bent or lost about half of the metal mounts so I couldn't rehang them. They "vacuumed" but for some reason I found numerous screws in my carpet afterwards and having three kids under 4 made this a huge concern. There were dirty hand prints all over the windows and when I asked the install crew if that was their responsibility, and he said no, that's something the homeowner is responsible for. Never heard of an install crew for anything that doesn't include cleaning up after yourself. The area installation manager tried to bribe me with a $100-150 discount to cover the bent brackets and cleaning I had to do provided I "didn't leave a bad review". He stood fast in his opinion that I should have taken down the blinds myself and when I pointed out the black and white contradiction on their estimate sheet he said that was only a service provided to those that need it. That policy is fine but that little bit of info would have been greatly appreciated prior to this horrific experience. It's 2022 and they can't send an confirmation email with important info on it? They rely on a phone call? How hard is it to do both? It should be automated and take zero man hours to send an email. Last but not least they scheduled this on a Friday (I'm not without blame there), and they dragged their feet long enough and started late so that when the job was done I couldn't get ahold of anything more than a receptionist to pass along my concern. This company is probably the cheapest you'll find but you'll need to stay on top of the install crew like a North Korean prison camp to make sure they don't take advantage of you. We were told the workers would not have to enter our home- Being a contractor we questioned this but were assured they would not enter.. how they would put windows in without coming in was a mystery and proven false.. they did enter the home- shoes on and all- did not clean up after themselves, left a bloody fingerprint on one of the highest windows that still has not been addressed and 2 windows were broken. Several months later, they came back to install the other 2 windows and when they were done- left our gate open and our dogs escaped. I called to Complain and was told by Scott "he was sorry.. but shouldn't I have checked to Make sure the gate was closed- inferring it was my fault. I called him a jerk and then he hung up on me.. now no one will return my calls. Fortunately the happy ending is twofold- our dog was returned because of his chip and I will never have to deal with this company ever again. Spent over 10K for windows in my whole house in September of 2012. Service and installation were great at that time. Now in Early January of 2022, I have a broken window. Waited until late April to get it replaced and find it's the wrong window. Now I'm being told it will be 8 more weeks to get this window replaced. That means I'm waiting 6 months to get a broken window replaced. This amount of time to get a window replaced is unacceptable. It would have been helpful to have this information when I was buying the windows. read more

I ordered 9 windows in August and they were installed mid January. The windows are not the best quality nor were they the best price. However the crew that installed them were the absolute best. They were personable, and professional. They cleaned up after themselves and all-in-all did an excellent job. I can recommend them without hesitation. I had them install my windows & garage doors & all went very smoothly. Ordered 2 new doors (a small job according to rep) back in February 2021 with the understanding that they needed done by May because I was selling my house. Paid 1/2 down & hav been pestering the rep for updates on the time of delivery. Threatened to cancel the order & was told it would definitely be May 20th. Sold my house on May 13th awaiting closing. Received call late this afternoon May 19th that they now need to reschedule to June 8th. They hav my order just no installers to do it! I'm beyond frustrated! read more

In October we ordered a very large front window consisting of three separate windows. My first gripe is our credit card was charged for the full price not the half down the contract and the sales person clearing stated you are required to pay. Secondly we were quoted six weeks to install. Two weeks later we were informed our window was in and the scheduled install date would be Jan 16th. 2017 That's not six weeks that is 14 wks. I have fully paid for a window I don't have. I would never do that with any contractor I would ever hirer or have hired to do work on my home. Not sure why the reviews are so bad for them. What I liked: They (Andrew?) came after typical work hours to give me an estimate, no one else would and he was nice. The price was right, (10) 30"x80" windows for $3,030 (including labor). The windows look really nice and slide like butter. I also like the fact that I can slide the top down or the bottom up. The bottom can also tilt in for cleaning but I don't really care so much about that, haven't needed to mess with it yet. When they were finally done they installed them in about 30 seconds. Measured everything perfectly (because the windows fit perfectly). What I didn't like: It took quite awhile for the windows to actually be ready, though that timed well with me actually being ready for them, if I was living in my house or had broken windows that needed replacement I'm not sure I could wait 6 weeks for them to be ready. The guy that installed the windows sounded like he came from Duck Dynasty, I have no idea what he was trying to say. He seemed nice though. I'll be using them again on 2 more houses I'm fixing up and will probably continue to use them. They were the one contractor that did everything right and didn't make me want to leave a bag of flaming poop on anyone's porch. read more

We planned to have them come out in the Spring. However, due to our own schedules, pushed the time back to the summer. When it was time to schedule, the office made an appointment with us for early August only to call the day before install to reschedule the appointment. They knocked $100 off for our inconvenience. By this time, we had removed all the casing around the four windows we were replacing, per the salesperson's instructions. When the installers came out around 1:00 PM for the rescheduled appointment the following week, they discovered the salesperson marked the wrong windows for install. The salesperson also measured the windows incorrectly and we learned we were not to remove the casing around the exterior of the window because then the installers had nothing to wrap. I had to work from home while the installers came out. After being at our house for a few hours, they were able to place the windows in temporarily but said they had to come back to finish the job. This did not make sense because the windows were now nearly complete. My husband purchased 2x4's for the installers for the exterior of the windows so they could wrap the windows upon completion. The installers said they only needed about three 2x4's and ended up tripling that amount when they came back. Because of the measuring errors, Window World agreed to take off another $200. The office promised us the installers would be out earlier for the second trip, around 8:00 AM. I worked from home again for the second trip. For the second trip, the installers called around 1:00 PM and said the office scheduled other jobs ahead of ours. The installers did not show up until after 2:00 PM. When they came back, the two installers brought a third person and still did not finish the job. The head installer told me they would come back on Tuesday to wrap the windows. Tuesday came and went with no phone call and no projected completion. We gave it one more day. The installers again did not come out. I called the office on Thursday. The woman who answered the phone let me know an office manager would call me back. I received no such phone call. Instead, the installer called and told me the office had booked him so much that he was unable to get back out. The installer asked me to have patience with him and to speak directly with him. He said he would try to come out by Saturday. Saturday came and went and no installer. My husband called the office on Monday and was promised a return phone call. He received no call, so he called again later. The woman at the office said the installer would definitely be out today to complete the job. My husband also called the installer directly to speak to him about the issue. I was decently satisfied with the communication I received with the installer, even though there were frustrating gaps with him, as well. The job was finished yesterday and the windows look good. My frustration now is that caulk is slapped on some of our siding and the windows are smudged (not a huge deal), though I believe these both should have been removed in the cleaning process. The installer understood our frustration and gave me a survey, which I filled out as objectively as possible. We do not intend to use Window World again, even though we are promised a lifetime warranty on the windows. Overall, my experience with Window World was negative. I felt frustrated with the entire process as it appeared a big box company did not show the care and concern for its customers. That type of customer service tends to lack these days. Have been trying to get Window World of Indianapolis to honor their warranty of replacing a broken window pane. They had to order a replacement from the factory which has a 2-3 week lead time. They "forgot to place the order" two times now, so I've had a hole in my window for nearly 2 months. They blamed it on someone they fired, which is not a good excuse. They then tried to blame me for not supplying them with a window number that they never asked me for. Bad move. Anyway, I would not recommend them. It was my fault that I did not check each and every window in my house after the installer had left. When I did attempt to confirm that all windows locked I was on my way out of the country and thought that I would deal with it when I came back. I was told that I needed to go to a website and look up how to fix it myself I thought my windows came with a lifetime warranty I was told the locking mechanism of the window is not part of the lifetime warranty therefore I'm giving them a one-star because they refused to send someone out to fix this issue. I was calling them for two reasons one that have given me an estimate on doing siding for my house at which this point I will look for another company to do this service for me. read more

I called window world to come give me a quote for four windows. One double hung, one square with a grid and two glass replacements. When the salesman came, I showed him all four windows and told them the new windows would have to identically match what's currently installed. The salesman ensured me they would and proceeded to give me the quote. I live in a condo complex, meaning I have to adhere to the HOA requirements on the outside of my home. The windows have to match or else the HOA can require me to redo them. I called window world once again to confirm the windows being installed would match the existing windows and was promised they would or I could refuse them. On installation day, I noticed the glass replacement window was not actually a glass replacement but a framed window. I lost 3 inches of window on each side due to the white framing around the window. I spoke with my HOA and they agreed it wouldn't be best to keep them. After much back and forth, with much frustration, window world finally realized they were in the wrong and agreed to not charge me for the incorrect windows. Not only did the salesman lie to me about the windows being installed, the workers installing the window left garbage outside and got glue/grey adhesive on my carpet. I will never recommend window world and I hope anyone who lives in an HOA wouldn't either. I wouldn't trust the salesman when they say what you currently have will be a match. read more

The Window World company is exactly what I was looking for after purchasing my home. The home was still equipped with the original 1950 wood frame windows and they leaked terribly in hot and cold months. The general look of the original windows is dull and boring as well. After having my windows installed by the crew at Window World, it has given my house a new "shine" if you will. The rooms appear larger because of the extra light that these windows let in, without sacrificing the heat transfer from the UV rays. We had windows replaced in our home recently. We are very happy with the results. I can't give them 5 stars ,though, because the salesman misled us, we found out later. After we paid for half of the bill , the salesman developed an attitude with us. Scott, the office manager or owner, was very sorry about the salesman. Scott couldn't have been more accommodating. We had our windows installed on New Year's Eve, 2012! The guys were awesome! They put 13 windows in and took away the old ones. It only took about a few hours. They did have to come back to finish the cladding outside and caulk outside. They came back in about a week as I recall. About a year later, we had a seal on one upper sash fail, and they replaced it, no charge at all! That's one reason we chose window world, their warranty can't be beat!! Last year, 2015, we had them put new siding on our house. Their price again was unbeatable. We love the look, and the crew, led by Joe, was awesome. We had a couple of issues later and they came back and took care of our concerns. So Windows, Siding, Gutters, Soffits, Facia, everything! They've been pretty easy to work with! I will never do business with them again. We bought 33 windows and they left with EVERY window needing "touch up " they were suppose to be wood grain and it's only a laminate. Almost every window had a place where the pieces of the window weren't flush. They manufacturer came to our house and was arrogant telling me they were top of the line. The outcome? They colored in the white that wasn't covered with laminate with a marker and nothing done about the window corners not being flush. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!! read more

We just had our windows installed yesterday. Andrew, likeable, young and knowledgeable, came and gave us an estimate. Yes, we had to wait 8 weeks to have the Windows made, and they told us that upfront. It was raining on the 1st scheduled day, so it had to be rescheduled to fit both our schedules. Ken came to install 6 Windows. It was drizzling off and on and the temperature was a bit chilly. He had the old ones out and new ones placed in in one hour and 5 minutes. He then came inside to caulk and said it would be dry in 24 hours, on the inside. He then went outside to finish placing and securing the Windows. He finished up everything by 6:00. He cleaned up everything well. We would recommend this company to others. Ken is professional and did a good job. read more

Window World has completely transformed my home! My salesman, Pat D., was excellent. I started with new windows in December 2018. The installers were in and out in one day and did a spectacular job (my utility bill dropped dramatically after getting the new windows). Since the window project went so well, I decided to hire Window World for exterior siding of the entire home. Wow...the home looks brand new! Joe and his siding crew were excellent as well. They really went above and beyond to make the home look beautiful, meticulous in detail, removing any old rotten siding before putting on the new. The worked with an expertise I have rarely seen and they thoroughly cleaned up after finishing. The sales rep was extremely knowledgeable and personable. Although we did have some delay on installation, we are very happy with the results. We replaced 2 patio doors and 12 windows in a 1960's built house which had aluminum windows and old wooden French doors. The windows fit well and look fantastic. (We did not purchase the $189.00 windows, however). The doors were a leaky disaster and somehow the installers made the new patio doors fit like a glove. Window World has helped us with any questions and came out and made an adjustment on one of the patio doors - no questions asked, no hassle. I would use Window World again. read more

The door they installed was great . . . it was just two months late. Originally scheduled for late November it was put of till the end of December then the end of January due to "weather." (My husband works outside and had not missed a day of work due to weather.) They also said that they couldn't come up and install it (in Lafayette) unless they had something else to install up here that same day. My question is, then what is the purpose of having a Lafayette location? That office couldn't even look up my installation estimate. When they postponed the installation in December, they didn't even give us 24 hours notice. I asked if we could get our deposit back since we needed a door ASAP and this was the second MONTH long postponement to which I was given a definitive "No." The manager never returned my husband's calls either. Although everyone we were able to speak to was very polite. On installation day, the installers were several hours later than I had been told, but were very nice and installed the door quickly and cleanly. They even took the time to show me some of the lock's quirks. Now it has been a week since the installation and they still have not processed our final payment. Maybe we'll get a discount for all this craziness, but I'm not holding my breath. No qualms with the installation crew or the door itself. But not impressed with the company's cancellation policy (three days only from day of deposit) or organization. UPDATE: Window World contacted me and explained that they only come up to process payments at my location once a week and apologized for the confusion. Again, everyone we spoke to was nice and they did offer us a discount after seeing my review. read more

In my other review of Window World everything been great. We have had 11 window put in and never had had an issue until now. We order 6 more windows and was schedule to put in 10-13 they called us and said they had an opening for Saturday10-8 we took the appointment because that way we did not have to take off work. We were going to miss a football game we were planning to go to but thought if they came early we could still make the game a little late but that was ok because I was getting my windows in. Guess what they did not come or call. If they at least of called we could of still made our plans. Our time is just as valuable as there. Really disappointing. read more

I ordered and put down half on 5 windows. When they came out the installer discovered 1 was mismeasured and it couldn't be installed. After he left I discovered the screens on two of the other windows that were installed did not stay up and would slam down hard when you raised them. I called to report this and this is when the service got bad. Instead of saying we will be out the fix the screens and remeasure the window they just acted like it was no big deal and they would get to both whenever they had time. I ended up having to take off work three more time to meet them at their convenience and didn't get the corrected window for another 2 months. Everything is always good when nothing goes wrong but how you respond when there are issues is what will define you. Although the field staff was very pleasant the response of the management to the issues was awful. read more

I ordered 11 new windows and outside shutters from Window World for my older home on the East Side of Indy. It took 5 weeks for the windows to come in, but when they installed them, they did all the windows in one day and things look pretty good. The problem is they have never hung the shutters. It's been 7 days of "We'll be there tomorrow" to hang the shutters and yet they still don't show up. Very disappointing customer service. they say they will call you back and do not. They put you on hold for 30 minutes and still don't have an answer. The shutters are still not hung and it's very frustrating. Because of this, I would not recommend them. I can only imagine what there service level would be if there are issues with the windows. I suggest you look elsewhere. read more
