Scheduled an estimate/measurement for a few days later, ordered my glass and a week later their tech Nick knocked out the job in an hour flat. Nick was swift but delicate throughout the process & his caulking was very clean. His removal and install were impressive, never forced anything & clearly mechanically inclined. Final all in price was $251.32! I called 2 competitors for estimates and they were 1) not as friendly and 2) 30-50% more expensive. In 2020 I had gilpin glass replace 3 windows in my house and a sliding back door when I first bought it. I have had them come out twice since then to look at the windows they replaced because they always have water coming in, condensation, or in the winter they even freeze inside. Both times they told me nothing was wrong with the windows. The most recent time was Monday and the guy that came told me old aluminum windows just "do that", I asked what windows are better and he told me that all windows do that. Then he said the issue was that my house was to humid and that I should buy dehumidifiers. The windows they replaced are worse than the untouched original windows in the rest of the house. If the issue is that only the glass was replaced on half of each of these windows and the window will always have issues then why not state that as a professional business instead of taking money, replacing some glass, then pretending like all windows leak. With only a few months left of their "warranty" I'm deciding to just get a different window company to replace the entire unit and be done with the issues. read more

Rating Gilpin Glass Service FIVE STARS. I had them replace 2 insulated glass panes in a 25" X 25" vinyl sash that had gotten broken out. I took the sash to them. I had been quoted $200 and ten days by their competitors. I did not mention this to Gilpin. They did the repair/replacement of the 2 panes for $120.00 including tax and they did it in the exact 7 business days that was quoted. The staff was very friendly and efficient. Very impressed with their service. We needed a pane of glass replaced in a 100-year-old window in a short period of time. They were able to take measurements one day and replace it the next. Both appointments were scheduled for a half-hour time frame and both times the repairmen showed up within the given time. I don't know much about window repair/replacement, but you can't even tell the pane of glass has been replaced so they seem to have done quality work. Our landlords are the cheapest of cheapskates, so I can only imagine the service was highly affordable. I needed a glass to my sliding door replaced. It was totally cloudy and I could barely see through it. I got three other estimates and Gilpin was the lowest and they were very friendly and efficient about getting back with me, so I went with them. They were excellent! Very good about getting back with me, called before they came, Dave was very good, and clean. Prepped the area very well and worked quickly. I've never seen a business in my life who takes doing business according to personal family matters. I called Gilpin Glass to my place of business to repair one of our entry way glass doors. The owner refused business because he didn't like the facility manager who is dating one of his daughters. At first the job was okay and placed on the roster for first thing Monday morning. After the owner found out about it he ordered it stopped without even a courtesy call so that the customer would have time to call another glass company to come out that day. The customer was left without being able to lock the doors overnight. Be aware of this company. read more

If there was a way to rate this company negitive stars I would be. Do yourself a favor and call someone else. We were referred to Gilpin Glass by a realtor. We had to have our window balances fixed (the windows won't stay up on their own, common problem) before we put our house on the market. We called them and they came out the next day to give us a quote on the job. We agreed on the price and ordered the fix. After 2 weeks nobody called us, so we called them. They seemed to be lost and had no clue what we were talking about at first. They then said they would call me back. 2 days go by, no call. I call back. Now I'm being told they ordered the parts but don't have them, they were "backordered" by the manufacturer. Another week goes by no call. Our house is not listed on the market and the windows we knew needed fixed are not fixed. So I call them back again and the guy on the phone seems clueless again and does not have any idea when he will get the parts, says he will check on them and call me back, 3 days goes by no call... At this point we are 3 almost 4 weeks into the process. This continued to go on and on. We are not at week #8. Our house is now SOLD, the inspector is coming TOMORROW and the windows are still not fixed. You'd think giving a company 2 MONTHS to fix a common problem would be enough time. So the entire process to get to this point to avoid a home inspector finding anything wrong with our house is now worthless... Sherry has been "apologetic" , but at the end of the day we didn't want apologies, we wanted to pay to get our windows fixed BEFORE our home was going to be inspected prior to selling it... I have no faith in their company and I do not believe a word that comes out of their mouths, they do not communicate and there is nothing but excuses and failed promises.
