This is review is based on my one and only recent visit to Windows on the Lake. Surprisingly, I've not been invited to a wedding or any other occasional event at this venue. From what I heard is that it is also newly renovated. It was a nice, open and airy catering hall. We waited on line for a short period of time before being seated for the Disney Princess Brunch we previously purchased tickets for. Part of our ticket included one brunch item of their menu. On the Brunch menu there was a panini, a salad, Eggs Benedict and Chicken and Waffles. I chose the panini which was grilled chicken with honey mustard. Children under 3 were free and all children were to eat from the buffet which included chicken fingers, waffles, and French fries. All the food was tasty and was of decent quality. While the fed the children quickly, which is much appreciated, our food came out at the very end of the program. I needed to leave early because the baby needed a nap asap. All in all I was pleasantly surprised with how good the food was and how nice the place was as well. I wouldn't mind coming back here for a special occasion. read more

This restaurant also operates as a wedding and event venue, which makes the experience even more disappointing. The space itself looks nice at first glance, with an elegant setup that gives the impression of a well-run, upscale place. Unfortunately, that impression falls apart pretty quickly once you actually sit down. The menu was not very appealing and felt shockingly uninspired for a venue that hosts weddings and formal events. Nothing stood out, and the options felt lazy rather than thoughtfully curated. The food itself was subpar at best--bland, forgettable, and nowhere near the quality you'd expect from a place trusted to cater important life events. The guest WiFi system didn't work at all, which is embarrassing for an event venue that likely hosts long gatherings, meetings, and celebrations. If you're going to advertise WiFi, the bare minimum is making sure it actually functions. The cappuccino situation was the final straw. The machine wasn't turned on because a worker forgot. That's not a complicated issue--it's basic competence. For a place trying to pass itself off as polished and professional, this kind of oversight is unacceptable. Overall, despite the nice appearance, the experience just wasn't pleasant. The unappealing menu, mediocre food, broken guest WiFi, and careless service made it clear that this venue prioritizes looks over execution. If this is how they handle regular service, I'd seriously question trusting them with a wedding or special event. I personally wouldn't recommend. Took a while to make this post but if I can save a couple from booking this venue, here I am. Typical salesmen behavior. Attitude completely switched when we made the deposit. The staff that was supposed to be helping us was never in sight but harassed us when it was time to tip. We gave a $100 to each person that was supposed to be dedicated to be by us but was not. I had to run around to make sure everything was in place and they approached us about tipping more, which was comical because I asked where was everyone that was supposed to be our side. He was apologetic but too late for that. If you haven't seen the post by a former employee, please take a look. I can 100% confirm how condescending these people are and made questionable remarks as I'm Chinese and my wife is Dominican. Save yourself the headache and disappoint. I just spent NYE at this establishment and it was beyond horrible. Waste of money and time. Simply Disorganized. It took over 1 hour to get a drink. They ran out of ice. Never announced when dinner buffet or dessert was served. Food was cold and had no taste. I'll go back to Lombardi's at least they know how to handle large crowds. My daughter had her wedding on 10/24/25 we could not ask for a better experience from start to finish. The food was fantastic and the service was excellent. Danielle took great care of us with all the details getting us ready for the day, and on the actual day from the Matre'd to the bridal attendant everything was handled with expertise. Everyone keeps telling us how wonderful everything was from the dj to the food. After leaving my position at Windows on the Lake a few years ago, I now feel ready to share my experience as a female employee. For the sake of privacy, I am choosing to use a pseudonym. During my time at the company, I witnessed behavior from the owners that was not only blatantly sexist but also reflected a very narrow, outdated mindset--what some might refer to as a stereotypical "old white man" way of thinking. To the public, they project an image of inclusivity, marketing the venue as welcoming to all weddings and couples, regardless of background or orientation. However, behind the scenes, their personal beliefs could not be more opposed to this image. The owners are primarily motivated by profit, and their actions demonstrate that they are far more interested in financial gain than in creating a genuinely inclusive or supportive environment for their employees or clients. I'm sharing this information because I believe it's important for others to know the reality behind the facade. Came here for a wedding and it was great. The space is beautiful and the garden/patio is nice. Awesome staff and they move you in and out efficiently. I was just there for Mother's Day brunch left early The food stations where messy. Food was not that great customers handled the food instead of server. They sat us by the door entrance where the traffic of people going back and fourth made it stressful. To top it off my daughter asked for water and the guy gave us dirty glasses off someone else's table. My daughter stated to the guy are you kidding me. Then he goes and pulls dirty glasses from a pile of glasses that where going back into the kitchen. The waitress came over and tried to salvage the day. We left early we only stayed 30 minutes. Completely dishonest snakes in the grass salesmen. Big employee turnover as well in just the 8 months i dealt with these cons. First salesman promises extra bennies while talking in circle and distracting chats so you dont focus on planning. Also claims their website is "outdated" so guest minimum's no longer 50-100..its 100. I negotiated to 85. Other salesman verbally agreed to lower guest minimum, but venue later told me he didnt stipulate it on revised contract. Shell game. Guy tried selling us a limo service when we never asked for one - will sell ya sand in the Mohave. So wedding day comes and the captain doesnt understand english and confused putting out churros for guest upon EXIT, he instead included them in cocktail hour!! The food staff- you ready for this?? - takes food from kitchen and places it out on a patio in buffet style trays, THEN transfers into individual plates to be served inside reception!! Filthy method and NOT disclosed to us during planning. Another shell game. Windows are filthy in reception. Dessert liquor bar (as contracted) UNATTENDED, dessert plates provided for each table (as contracted) very lacking- 2 cannolis for 12 guests. Overall disappointment. Price per plate is good, Danielle pretty much runs the place and is very helpful. Salesmen and staff on wedding day can def improve. Owner useless to me- laughing "its only money" when i plead with him to negotiate headcount. Rant over. Reported to Health Dept, BBB and various social media. Good luck. read more

My husband and I had our wedding here back on October and it was the most fun wedding I've been to. Granted, it was mine, but everyone was so helpful the day of that I didn't have to worry about anything that day. Before we had our wedding, everyone we have a spoken to was so fantastic and amazing to work with. From Frank, to Danielle and Michael. They all were so delightful and great to talk to. It never felt awkward when I went to pay or to drop off any item or paperwork for the wedding. The food was amazing, and I'm still having family and friends raving about the food and DJ. The grounds are so beautiful! Rory, my husband, and I got married outside and had cocktail hour inside. Frank had called me a day or two in advance and told me he was worried about the weather being a bit took cold to be staying out for a longer period of time. I was so glad that he made that call and we were able to make the decision that quick and that short notice. I had made signs for my wedding and was able to come a few weeks before my wedding day to place where I had wanted the signs to be. Went here in November 2023 to see a live show and athree course dinner. The portion of the dinner would not have been enough for a five year old. I decided to give this place another shot so we went there for New Year's December 31, 2023. The same toilet in ladies room that was out of order in November was still out of order in December. Tickets were advertised for $140 but ended up costing close to 180 because taxes and fees and surcharges and whatever else was tacked onto the tickets. The happy hour was mostly cheese and crackers and California roll, was really pathetic compared to other New Year's celebrations that we have been to. Not only was they are a tremendous line to get inside and everybody was outside freezing for a really, really long time. They couldn't figure out where to seat anyone and it was like a free for all. When it came to the champagne toast at midnight, champagne glasses were not even given out nor was champagne poured. I had to go to the bartender at 11:45 to obtain these items so that we would have a champagne toast after paying $180 a person for our group of four. The cocktail glasses were miniature, I asked for a larger glass and finally one bartender gave me a plastic cup so that at least I can have a mixed drink and be able to put some ice in it. The other glasses they provided were ridiculously small. I would never ever go back here again. Save your money go somewhere else. Our server, Mike, was amazing. He checked on us regularly and was very engaging. The food was pretty good, some definite hits and misses. Hits - the entire antipasto & cheeses tables, the pasta dishes, the chicken francaise, & the dessert! Misses - the turkey they had out first was really good, but the second one where they were carving from the entire bird was very dry. Same with the gravy - the first time was really good but the second one they brought out not good. Overall was beyond expectations. We had our sons wedding here on September 18. Being in the wedding industry ourselves we had some high expectations. Not only did they meet our expectations but far exceeded them. Anthony, Danielle, Ahbi, Vicky and the entire staff was absolutely amazing. We began with the ceremony outside on the lake. It was the perfect setting and the photos are breathtaking. Following the ceremony was the outdoor cocktail. The food was plentiful and delicious. We added the seafood boat which the guests thoroughly enjoyed! Once inside the grand ballroom we danced the night away. We opted for a buffet dinner with custom stations. The chef truly outdid himself!! To say the food was delicious would be an understatement. It was mouthwatering and left you wanting more which thankfully they had plenty! Next came the desert. The in house baker/decorator is so talented. She created the most beautiful wedding cake for my son and his bride. The pastries, parfaits, churros (to name a few) were absolutely superb. We booked a venue with Beach Club Estate for our intimate wedding and the place is beautiful. We took a tour with Uncle Frank (the three of us got along so well he asked us to call him uncle Frank). He's been working there for some time now and he knows the ins and out of the place. I recommend asking for him if you decide to take a tour of this place. We had a wedding at the Beach Club Estate Although the room was beautiful. We were very disappointed with the cocktail hour. There was no place to sit and the food was not very good... The main dinner would have been good but it seems the cook did not know how to cook steak and so many guests had raw steak!!!! Very embarrassing!!! They need a Real chef. I attended a wedding reception here. It started at 630 pm and every guest was amazed with the food during the cocktail hour. At exactly 730 pm, the maitre d asked everyone to go to the main ballroom to start the festivities. By 815 pm, they started serving the salad and started asking our choice for entree. You would think that it will take at least 30-45 mins for the entree to arrive. 9 pm came, nothing. 10 pm, so that 1 hr and 45 mins after they served the salad, as the MOH, I asked the Maître D what happened with the dinner, he said it will come out in 10 mins. I was checking my watch and the food started to come out from the kitcen at 10:45 pm! Unbeliavable, who eats dinner at 10:45 pm? Honestly, if you go out and eat, would you be happy if your food order arrive after 2+ hours? All the guests was starving especially the children! As in, it took them more than 2+ hours to serve the main course after the salad for everybody. Then it would have been forgivable if the food was amazing BUT the filet mignon was overcooked, the salmon was dry, the vegetable lasagna tasted like "baby's puke" said my friend who's a pediatrician. Then there was supposed to be a signature drink which we never saw. It didn't stop there. When they served the coffee/tea. We have to repeatedly ask for hot water because they only gave us the tea bag without hot water. The kitchen inefficiency ruined the night. I'm being generous with the 1 star. If you will have a party here, make sure to tell them that you will have pizza delivered if they can not bring food on time read more

From waiting for hours, begging for water, raw chicken, double charging on the bill and no satisfaction from management... I can't imagine how this place stays in business. My husband and I got married here and was excited to comeback for dinner and live music. It was the first time we had been back in 26 years. What a disappointment. The waiters had no idea what was going on. We asked our waiter about drinks when we first sat down and he said I'll send someone over. We waited a little while and then figured we need to go to the bar. We also found out the was a little spread by the bar which we had no idea was there. We sat down at 6:30 and didn't get our salad until 7:30. Watching the waiters walk around with trays of food was a nightmare. They began serving by table but they had no idea where the tables were set up. We finally got our dinner at 8:30 which was cold and horrible. We asked numerous times for the water glasses to be refilled which never happened. We ended up leaving before desert and coffee/tea because we figured the valet was low staffed and we didn't want to wait hours for our car. I lived in Memphis when I was 19 and I was dating a girl from the area. (I used ask her to say CEMENT WALL over and over. Now its a catering hall?? It's a nice local place with a great view of Lake Ronkonkoma. Never swim in Lake Ronkonkoma. Legend has it.. My wife bought a Living Social deal for brunch. I wanted to go on a nice sunny day to see the same lake view I saw as a teenager. Nice grounds, nice patio, so far so good. We walk up the stairs and I see a shelf eye level that has, a big hunk of broken glass?? Like you can make a shiv out of this sucka if someone cuts you in the Omelet line?? We walk into the main dining hall and it looks like a cruise ship! Tablecloths with numbered tables. We are seated and the waiter takes our drink order. (More on him later) The buffet is a small but standard all you can eat Sunday brunch buffet. Carving ham, Omelet station, Waffle station, fruits, bagels with lox as well as breakfast meats in tins. Its not a bad buffet but the service? OMG, I had to tackle this dude for coffee. You get little cups and after two sips you're done. Dude, I need COFFEE on Sunday morning. And those drinks? Yeah, have one and see ya never again. The food was ok. My buddy had a big birthday and his wife catered his party here. Windows On the Lake is a nice local place where you can be comfortable and eat bacon with your fingers if you so desire. *I think I dumped that girl who ate with her fingers.... Enjoy! read more

I came here in June for a Sweet 16. I haven't been to too many halls but I thought the place was nice. I enjoyed the view of Lake Ronkonkoma across from the place. The staff here was attentive and very friendly. No complaints. We had a buffet style dinner and the food was pretty yummy. Everyone at my table raved about the meatball and one of the pastas offered. Words cannot express how much fun my daughter, her friends and our family had at her Quinceañera party!! The party coordinator, Dana was great answering any questions or concerns (we only had a month to plan this party). Our Maitre D' and Bridal Attendant were absolutely AMAZING!!! They were on top of things throughout the whole party. From beginning to end. The whole family loved our Bridal Attendant!! Thank you for being soooo attentive with my daughter and family!! Their DJ was from Fourth Generation DJ. Great duo DJ/MC!! They kept the party going all night. Our photo booth guy, Mike was outstanding with the teenagers. He made sure everyone had fun taking pics with the props. The serving staff and bartender did a great job also!! All our guests raved about the food (especially the Shrimp and seafood Alfredo). The ice cream and the towering candy was a big hit with the kids!! And last but not least....our photographer (zap photos) Amanda. I loved that she was able to capture as much as she could!! Everywhere I looked she was coming and going taking pics and making sure she took the best photos. I want to thank everyone for making my daughter feel special and making her day amazing!! read more

So a friend of mine got married here which brought me all the way out to Suffolk county to this location. I have to say that the lake portion is beautiful! Especially when the sun is setting! It was absolutely beautiful. That's a big plus. The whole setting around the lake with the little wedding chapel, white chairs, and green grass- made for a nice ceremony. The staff was very accommodating and very polite. Valet parking available as well of course. If I needed anything outside of the "realm" of the wedding- they provided it for me. The wedding wasn't that large so they had appropriate room sizes for that and the rooms were immaculate with cool sky paintings on the ceilings and very good lighting effects. The food was pretty good, cocktail hour had the better food but isn't it like that at every wedding? LoL My only complaint was the sound system in the cocktail hour room. It was pretty staticky sounds like they need to fix a speaker or two. Otherwise it's definitely a nice place for a wedding! read more

Can I give this less than one star? So if you look at my history, I have never posted a negative review but it would be a travesty if I didn't warn people about this unbelievably horrible venue. The evening started out wanting to go see a Billy Joel and Elton John cover band which they were OK. We were seated at 7:15 then ordered two appetizers, we received one of them which was a rubbery fried calamari. We also ordered the meatballs which never arrived. The server came by shortly after the calamari and we gave her our order which was about 745. We were listening to the band, we bought drinks and we waited for our main course, we did not receive our food and after waiting for two hours without receiving our food we walked out. Do yourself a favor cross this one off your list. Absolutely the worst. This is a wedding venue and on a Saturday night they can't even book a wedding in June! so that speaks for itself. read more

Emailed 3 times got no response back. Staff is horrible unfriendly etc. Members of the staff were completely unprofessional and rude to a majority of us. Had a server stand directly next to me and talk about members of my table using profanity. Servers/managers/security/ and bartenders pointed at us while whispering, coming over to people and rudely requesting to smell their drinks for alcohol after not politely requesting proper I.D. (Mind you we are all 30 and up) We all felt like we were criminals and felt completely uncomfortable. We were told no to having another drink when we paid extra for open bar because they couldn't let us "leave drunk". We were all from a company who know how liabilities and such work which is why we ARRANGED rides and paid for Uber's. We tried to talk with a person higher up at the end of our event but was told by an employee that worked there that this was "above her pay grade". Don't waste your time or money, so unorganized! We were 120 people. 120 people who will now be doing yelp reviews, 120 people who will never use this catering hall again, and 120 people who were so disappointed and dissatisfied. I went there for a Disco night i was told I had to reserve a spot on my credit card which I did for my wife and I. When I got there we were told that we had to pay cash to get when I told them about the credit card they said it wouldn't go through but it did. I called to have it reversed they gave me the run around and wouldn't do it. So the bottom line is I spent $160 there for bad food and watered down drinks, and they will never see another $1 from me. Too many wrong things went on wrong menu and not having what people ordered, serving dinner 11 pm which was one hour left for guest to leave, events running behind, what was paid for and promised did not happen such as use of the grounds paid for heaters and was advised upon arrival no outside events, the runner wasn't taped down and you had to search for them for help events and ceremonies ran late a very disastrous day. My fiancé and I had such a wonderful experience visiting Windows on the Lake today! I was impressed with how quickly the staff managed to fit us into their busy schedule during a Holiday weekend to meet with us. We met with Michael, a true professional and genuine person! You can tell from the start that he loves his job and will do all he can to make sure your event is everything you'd ever dream it to be. We truly enjoyed our time with him as he showed us around each room, answered our questions in detail, and worked with us to begin our wedding plans. We felt like our time was valued and did not feel rushed in any way. I have always said growing up that I wanted to get married here. It was surreal today to be there in person looking at it for my own wedding. The grounds are beautiful and makes you feel like you're on a tropical island. The inside of the venue is undergoing renovations and looks amazing so far. I can not wait to see what it looks like as time continues! Aside from the ideal location, both outside on the water and inside overlooking the lake, the venue has many perks. I loved the gazebo that guests can relax in before the ceremony. It was also great to find a place that has both an indoor and outdoor cocktail hour to accommodate guest preference and unwelcome weather. The space where the ceremony is held is right next to the lake with a perfect view of the sunset. I also loved that there was an area to have fireworks at the venue! In addition, Michael was super understanding and helpful when we explained that we would like the menu to reflect the dietary needs of ourselves and our guests. I also really appreciated that the packages offered were well priced. As a couple paying for our own wedding, we appreciated that there was so much included in the total price of the wedding. We also liked that there were different packages the pick and choose from to fit our needs and budget. I am so excited to continue working with Michael to plan our wedding!
