Thank-you for your patience and sensitive care. We appreciate you! If you need pet care within your home, give Pet's Butler a call!

One of the biggest mistakes I ever made was trusting this man…read more I meet with the owner, explain everything that I need done and how to do it. I also leave hand written instructions as he requests. Then I leave for vacation and then find out it's not really him who shows up to watch your pet. He has people that work for him. So you have someone you have never met with keys to your house. The owner does not explain this when you sign up, he makes it appear as if he is the one visiting. He brags about all his experience and training, but what does that matter when it's not him taking care of your pet. He was never upfront about this, clearly tries to hide this fact, as you should know who is watching your pet and has access to your home. In my detailed written instructions as well as explained in person, how often I needed my automatic feeders set. I need about 15 feeders set to last 24 hours. Instead his worker just left one dish of food out total, just one. No feeders set at all. The owner said the man didn't know what to do. So why did I write down instructions and have a meeting with the owner in person? I found this out because on my first day away, I turn on my pet video cam and I notice my pet had zero feeders setup. I called the owner at around 10 PM. He didn't answer and then texted back complaining that he does not take calls this late. I explain my pet was not fed all day, he says he will have to come the next morning. He doesn't think a pet getting any food was any reason to rush over and do his job. He also complained that I was "spying on him" even though the camera is right next to the pet dishes, had they used them they would have seen it. It is not hidden, Plus it's my apartment he is working in. Had I not had this camera, he would have gotten away with total neglect of my pet for a full week and who knows if she would have survived. That night I had to have my landlord come over and feed my pet, so she wouldn't go a full day without food. My landlord calls to inform me the pet butler employee did not even lock my front door. I again call the owner to complain and he denies this and accuses my landlord of lying. Never once apologizing for this or any other mistake. My landlord has no reason to lie about such a thing. Yet, he has every reason to try to cover this up. He put all my belongings at risk, locking a door seems a pretty important step to miss when you trust someone with your home. After that call, the owner agreed to take over from this other employee. He says he will come every morning to feed my pet. The third day I check my camera and no visit by 2PM, once again all day and afternoon without my pet being fed. I call the owner and he tells me to calm down, he will be there soon. My pet was not fed all day, even though I explained to him directly my pet has health issues and needs to be fed at specific intervals. He did not care at all, he starts getting very annoyed and talking down to me. He treated me like I was in the wrong but I can't do anything about it as I am 10 hours away. Finally, My pet is not supposed to have treats due to health reasons. I explained to him that I still give her one a day, because it makes her so happy. But I keep them in a rubbermaid container with locking side clamps so she cannot access it. On the day I come home, I find the totally empty treat container, outside of the rubbermaid sitting on the countertop. He clearly had left out the whole treat container unlocked, my cat got to it, ate about 12 ounces worth of treats total. He didn't even bother to tell me what happened. He knew she had health problems and never even cared enough to inform me about the mistake. My vet told me monitor my cat for 48 hours, he knew what happened because the rubbermaid container was locked again, he just chose to not care. If you care about your pets at all, do NOT use this service. Avoid it like the plague. He never once was apologetic, or compassionate, just rude and sarcastic as soon as soon as he got the job. Avoid!

So anyway, since working with Ashleigh and Clark and the team, our dog's gone from "shoulda been a sled dog" leash-pulling to a pretty good walker. He's gone from "attack on sight" when on his leash to being a pretty cool dude when joggers or walkers pass by us in our neighborhood. And so on. Long story short, she's taking the former abused stray dog that we adopted a couple years ago, with all the problems that go along with that, and making him a better Citizen Canine. Kudos to Puppin'.

Some background: my dog has behavior issues. He is fear-aggressive and unpredictable, and can be very threatening/aggressive with people he doesn't know. I started working a 9 to 6 job, and needed to figure out something to get him some activity in the middle of the day. Ashleigh responded to my email inquiry immediately with options for a free consultation at my house to meet my dog. She is very easy to get ahold of, and flexible with scheduling. She came over, met Paisley, and was willing to work with him despite his growling at her and being distrustful. She spent 90 minutes with me, answering a ton of questions, explaining all kinds of things about dogs she has learned in her years of experience working with them, and familiarizing me with Puppin' Around's policies/procedures. She walked me through everything I would need to do to prepare Paisley for walks with her. She has put up with constant texts and calls from me, especially the first day she was going to my house to walk Paisley. Her fees are extremely affordable, especially considering the amount of time she puts into her clients. She has also been EXCELLENT with Paisley. She understands his nature and his behaviors, and I totally trust her with him. Get down with Puppin' Around!

This location is 24/7 which makes it very easy to come to in case of emergency. Now, with saying that, it has been a few hits and misses. The last time I came here was for an emergency with my Shihtzu Poodle, she was vomiting bile & had severe diarrhea for the past 24 hours. My boyfriend had called about an hour before we came for an emergency apt and they told us to bring her in. We did have our files transferred from our vet in London, but still had to give them our information. After that was all said and done, the vet tech was really nice, she took us into a room and we waited....and waited....and waited....for at least 45 minutes before the actual vet came in to see Chelsea. He was very nice. Dr. Laus, took her temperature, felt her stomach, told us her intestines were probably irritated from throwing up so much, told us what he would like to do and came back with an estimate, everything that he wanted to do would have cost us over $700, and she could possibly be alright with the bare minimum. If you don't have pet insurance (which we don't) it's ridiculous how much it is for a pet. Luckily, he saw the blood drain from our faces and went back with a cheaper estimate. Medicine, wet food, which was easy on the stomach, some fluids for hydration and the apt was the low low cost of $273 after tax. That was our cheaper option so we went with it, hoping our pupper would feel better after that. Which she is. When we were done our apt we went back into the reception which took at least another 15 minutes for us to be cashed out and given our medication for our dog. Overall the experience wasn't that bad, it was long, painfully long. My parents have been coming here for years and they always book an apt with Dr. Reiss. He's always been a fan favourite of theirs when they come, he is personable and knows their animals very well. We will continue to come here, but will ask to book an apt with Dr. Reiss.

I was actually a longtime client of this clinic years ago, before it was purchased by a large international veterinary corporation, and I returned because I had trusted the clinic in the past. Unfortunately, my recent experiences have been extremely disappointing and very different from the level of care and accountability I remembered. I moved my pets back to this clinic specifically because I was assured that my dog's specialized prescription food would be kept consistently in stock. Earlier this winter, the food was unavailable and I had to accept a larger substitute bag from another location, which did not agree with my dog. After that incident, I had a direct conversation with the clinic to make clear how important it was that this food be properly ordered and available moving forward. Despite that conversation, I recently arrived to pick up food again and once again it was not available -- leaving me without enough food for the weekend for a dog with dietary needs. What upset me even more than the mistake itself was how I was treated afterwards. Rather than acknowledging the issue or showing empathy, staff shifted blame onto me and implied that I was somehow irresponsible as a pet owner. The interaction felt dismissive, defensive, and unnecessarily shaming. I understand that supply issues can happen. What matters is how clients are treated when problems arise. In my experience, this clinic showed very little accountability or compassion in a stressful situation involving a pet's health and care. I have since resolved the immediate issue elsewhere, but after this experience I no longer feel confident relying on this clinic for ongoing care.
