I've been coming to Dr. Sosinski of IMG since 1983 when I moved to Lawrence. He's served me so well over this time. As a family practitioner he strikes me as an exceptionally intelligent physician that listens well, has few words, but is compassionate and caring for his patients. About ten years ago they moved to a new facility and it's state of the art and includes its own pharmacy plus offices for several other physicians that are part of the group. Most of them have also been with the firm well over 20 years. I haven't always had great experiences with the medical community, but this physician and this organization are an exception.

He tried to opt out of seeing me from the moment he laid eyes on me because supposedly I was out of town. When do doctors not want to see patients simply because they do not live in their city but 20 miles away and this was only one of many excuses. He neglected to give me any meds for an ear infection he diagnosed after comparing both my ears. He did not ask to see my diabetic feet even though I told him about a sore on my toe. He did not want to look at the problems with my back, legs, or neck. And I was diagnosed from the hospital with decaying of the 6th vertebra of which he was informed. Is there anything this doctor does want to treat? I will do him a huge favor and look for a better doctor who will be happy to have my business.

Some staff clearly were not trained how to move (or not move) someone with an untreated broken hip. My bed-bound mom went 4 days before they brought her a toothbrush and water. My Dad went 3 days without an opportunity to bath. The staff are probably good people but they are in an impossible situation. Senior management of Five Star needs to get a handle on what is going on in the South Building nursing center.

Then I found out that DeSoto had an Urgent Care of Kansas clinic that opened in my hometown of De Soto, and I decided to give it a chance, though I was still incredibly anxious and skeptical. From the moment I met Dr. Saboor Rashid, the experience was different. He didn't just listen to my long list of symptoms; he really listened. He was attentive and took the time to examine me. He confidently diagnosed my issue and assured me, "I know what that is, we're going to fix it." When I left the office, still filled with doubt, I returned to ask him to confirm my diagnosis. His compassionate response, "Let's not worry about the diagnosis--take the medicine and come back to your next appointment. I do believe you," was exactly what I needed to hear. Just as he predicted, I started getting better. He has since put me on a path to healing, and my chronic conditions are improving. The severe rash that tormented me for so long is finally gone. My arthritis is under control. I'm looking into different ways to lose weight. I have also been able to get off medications like Xanax, pain pills, and Suboxone. It isn't just Dr. Rashid who makes this place special, although he could be, is that amazing. Tony, who man's the front desk,( I do need to set an appointment) answers phone calls, provides technical support with the tablets and is right on with his ability to handle insurance and patient questions all while keeping everything else in order to not once has shown if he was frustrated or makes me feel like I'm annoying if I ask questions. He is amazing. In all my visits to both the De Soto and Gardner offices, I have yet to encounter a single person who is rude or condescending. The entire staff is knowledgeable, truly wants to help, and will help. I've never trusted a doctor more and can't recommend this clinic enough. When my kids need urgent care, who are 4 and 5 years old; one of them has a brain injury, they come here too. I can't give this place enough stars and I'm not exaggerating if you're looking for a new primary care doctor or you just need to get urgwn, this is the place to be you won't find a better team!
