Instead of ignoring it, Zach took full ownership and replaced the trim on both skylights with upgraded foam-backed wood molding at his own expense to ensure everything was airtight and uniform. Apparently they are unfamiliar with the fact that they are on Groupon so I had to call back when someone from the company was in the office to get on the schedule. They had availability for two weeks later. I wasn't in a rush so I don't mind the wait. I wasn't scheduled for the 12-4 time window. On the day of I had a work commitment that came up last minute. They were very accommodating when I called so I was pushed further back on the timeslot till after 3 PM so I could be home for the service. The technician Isaiah arrived and informed me what he was going to do. Afterwards he sent me a detailed report with photographs of my gutter system. Thankfully, everything looked good and I did not require any additional services after the cleaning and tuneup.

For the first time I realize I had been hearing a fair amount of outside noise (which I'd apparently gotten used to), because these windows/doors are soundproof; now I don't hear anything at all from outside! And even better, the windows are easy to open, and my sliding glass doors actually slide well in the track, and are not shaking and drafty when it's windy outside -- major improvements from my old, builder-grade, 20+ year-old windows/sliding door. Further, the service crew was excellent -- careful, kind, professional, efficient, and they cleaned up everything afterwards. Roger, the foreman, has been doing this work for almost 30 years, and Jose, who single-handedly carried in/out the windows/doors, has been doing this work for 10+ years. I didn't get the name of the quiet third service person who was mostly outside and on the ladders, also very efficient. fyi, they did mention that working on the 4th floor of our condos from ladders was a bit more challenging as the original builder-grade windows had been made to fit by being packed/taped in place from the outside, which necessitated them having to actually break some of the glass to be able to pull the old windows out. But they did it - and did it well. Finally, Shaun, the project manager who gave me my estimate and oversaw the project from estimate, HOA approval process, to completion, was great. American Window undercut the estimates of the other two vendors by a substantial margin. We also really liked they only asked for a modest down payment. Jay was our sales contact at American Windows and he was absolutely great. He has an engaging personality, and kept all his commitments to us. We appreciated that when installation day came, he swung by to ensure all was going well. Oh, how did the installation go? It was fantastic. Not only did the windows and door come earlier than promised, the American Windows crew came on time and worked quickly and professionally. Custom Concepts Construction (CCC) did two major jobs for us in late 2025, mostly involving…read morereplacing wood with James Hardie fiber-cement materials, other carpentry work, and gutters. We are extremely pleased with their work. We chose CCC for three reasons: 1. They are Elite Preferred James Hardie installers who carefully follow the Hardie standards of installation. 2. The co-owners and lead carpenter are experienced with all aspects of residential carpentry, having built homes and additions in the past. 3. The co-owner in charge of sales, Michael Swank, gave authoritative, unpressured advice and presented a masterfully written, detailed proposal with a detailed description and all charges. The price of their proposal was similar to, or lower than, those we received from other exterior contractors. One of our jobs was to replace all wood siding and trim with Hardie siding, trim, and panels on two three-story towers. I expected some difficulties with scaffolding over a stairwell, but the lead carpenter Kerdy and his assistants did the job masterfully, resulting in carefully executed, beautiful results. The second job was to renovate our 100-year-old garage by not only replacing sheathing, siding, and trim but also installing new interior wood beams (rafter ties and collar ties) and additional studs recommended by an engineer to stabilize the sagging garage framing structure. They skillfully manipulated the framing to straighten out the rear garage wall and front central post, which were bowing outward, as well as to straighten out the sagging ridge. During this process they erected temporary support posts inside the garage. We were glad to have hired a team who knew what they were doing with framing as well as exteriors. They also installed a new Pella window and figured out how to do the problematic moving of our shed next to the garage. Their subcontractor competently replaced all of our gutters and downspouts with larger ones. The project manager Daniel Harper, a co-owner of the company, directed the carpenters, handled the logistics of the job, and ensured the high quality of the finished product. We found CCC to be a well-organized and responsive small firm that is easy to communicate with. It was a particular pleasure to interact with Kerdy, the lead carpenter, who always provided clear and polite explanations. Billing was expertly handled by Katherine, who took our credit card payments without charging a fee. In summary, we highly recommend this company for exterior work!

We started a search of area contractors to see who could replace our metal roof and rebuild the portico along with the main roof, to its original condition. I came across TEO Construction and had them come out to place a bid and see if they could do the repair, along with working with our insurance company. I met with Elias R. of TEO along with the insurance adjuster. After hearing what Elias said what it would take to replace the roof and portico, returning the roof/portico to better than original condition, I had a positive feeling that he was the right guy for the job. He explained in great detail what he would do, the process (timeline), and materials needed to complete the repair. My insurance adjustor too was impressed with Elias and was willing communicate directly, making the process a whole lot easier. My adjuster was confident that TEO's estimates were fair and reasonable. Elias was always in contact with me on an almost daily basis keeping, me apprised on what was going on along with the claims adjuster. Elias insisted on only using top grade materials (24 gauge stainless steel, oven bake coated, standing seam roofing panels; when 28 or 29 gauge would have been marginally adequate, but not for TEO & Elias). They even took the time to make custom fitted green end-caps and flashing, using the same material--for that perfect match--giving the roof that custom look. His crews started at 7am and didn't knock off until 830pm or later. The job site was always clean, the crews were friendly and professional. I cannot say enough about how good this company is. Elias and his crew are the face of the company and represent TEO well. This was a difficult job and a stressful situation for us, and TEO made thing right. TEO Construction hit it out of the park. They also took care of the little things like vacuuming the attic area, power washing to portico, and repainting the entire portico (which was not part of the claim, so that everything looked great). A point of emphasis must be made on how well TEO worked with our insurance company. Clear communications between the two made for a smooth claims process. Neither of these 2 contractors were prepared to give and estimate and presented no samples of the products they represented, and no color samples. I am still waiting for their estimates. It was a waste of my time. However, Avi, from American Custom Contractors was fully prepared with samples, recommendations and was able to give me my estimate in less than 30 minutes after we agreed on the products and colors. He had the software to input the data and presented an estimate that was within my budget with the first meeting. He was very professional, knowledgeable, timely, considerate and responsive to all my questions even after I signed the contract. In addition my research showed that this company is rated as A+ from the Better Business Bureau and 5 star rated from Google.
