This is such a fun place in Maryville, with good food and good service. The restaurant itself is very open with a family seating area in the front and a bar in the back, with the walls covered in. Chicago based signs and decorations. My husband and I came here for lunch on a Thursday and had our baby with us. Walking in we were warmly greeted by the hostess and brought to our table. She asked us if we wanted a low table or a high table and if we needed a sling or a high chair. Our server immediately came over and got our drink order and let us look over the menu. Their menu has a lot of really good options from sandwiches to pizza and hamburgers. I decided on the Italian beef sandwich and my husband got the Halas Burger. The food came out extremely fast and was hot and fresh. My sandwich was a roast beef sandwich with onions, peppers and cheese dipped in au jus and severed with a side of au jus and Giardiniera. It tasted great. The flavors all went really well together and the giardiniera added a great crunch and slight heat to the sandwich. I got onion rings as my side, which were hot and crunchy. The Halas burger was a burger patty topped with an onion ring, mozzarella and boom boom sauce. The patty was well cooked and fresh. With the onion ring and everything else it was a great burger. The fries that came with it were hot and had good flavor. Windy City is a great lace to come and get some good food. I can definitely see it being a great place to watch a game and have a drink or two with friends or coming and just grabbing some food and hanging out with friends or family. Being from Chicago we expected the Chicago dog to be the "Chicago dog." If you're going to brand it then you should have authentic ingredients. The bread although it had poppy seeds was wrong. It was too big and not steamed. The onions were way to big as was the pickle. The relish was wrong and it was not a Vienna dog. Where was the celery salt? So that is a hard pass. The atmosphere was great. Lots of Chicago decor - both north and south side. So yay for that. The service was good. The server could have been a little friendlier. But her attention to our table made up for that. They have been there for a while and that's awesome. But we will not be back. The Chicago style hotdog was the easiest to replicate. My husband and I came in here last night for wings and beers and to watch the Cardinals play football since we are from out of town. Atmosphere is fine, food needs a lot of work. I ordered the Chicago Dogs today, no way. These aren't even close to Chicago Dogs. These are grilled Dogs not even Vienna Beef. They do not have the nuclear green Vienna Relish, just some cheap stuff. I also did not care for the French Fries. My wife had the Italian Beef, again, nowhere near a Chicago Italian Beef. We had Fried Mushrooms for an appetizer, they were very good. Being from Chicago, this was my first visit here, and my last. We got seat within 30 seconds of arriving into this restaurant. Overall service was good. Our waitress, Tater C, was good and kind. She even went to the back to ask the manager about eggs being in certain dishes. I had the Reuben Sandwich. It was a little more burnt than I would have liked and gave a unique taste. I asked for it without mayo due to an egg allergy. The chef was very careful with my food and I had no allergy. I had a baked potato as my side, and could have been cooked more thoroughly, as the top was slightly undercooked but the bottom was burnt. Honestly, I didn't realize until I got home that I meant to order the Ribeye sandwich instead of the Reuben sandwich, which probably accounted for the unique taste that I wasn't expecting, as I don't care for Swiss cheese or sauerkraut. My aunt had a baked potato. She said that her potato was undercooked. My husband had the burger "34". Crispy bacon. BBQ sauce was fantastic. His thin patty was well cooked but could have used slightly more meat to the burger; because it seemed like 1/4 pound burger instead of the 3/4 pound burger that he was promised. Overall, the restaurant was nice inside and clean. Each table top had its own local businesses that it featured. A very unique approach. Overall, we would never come back for our specific orders again; but for the service, we might try something different next time, as our server was very kind. read more

Sports oriented bar and grill is the best way to describe this place with a self proclaimed "Chicago" flair. Being from California I'm not sure what a "Chicago" style eatery is but he who cares if the drinks and food are good. Moving to Tennessee, I've heard my new friends rave over the "Italian Beef" sandwiches form Chicago. Not having any true comparison of a "Chicago Italian Beef" I chose to try it as listed as one of the favorite dishes. I found it to a great sandwich with plenty of gooey cheese, carnalized onions, peppers, and au jus. Something else surprising was the side of "Giardiniera" slightly pickled vegetables made in to a relish. I liked the whole combination and was impressed with the sandwich. They had a good selection of beers both bottle and tap and plenty of cocktails. I loved the tributes to the military and seeing all the police and fire patches on the wall. God Bless America. Monday .75 wing night was great! Every 5 wings you could get a different sauce. We tried the garlic parmesan and medium buffalo. The wings were very crispy and delicious. The garlic parmesan were a little greasy. The buffalo were great and not spicy at all!! We also had a party melt with chips and queso. The chips are homemade and great!! The queso is little confused and trying to decide if it is beer cheese or queso. Unique flavor and worth trying. Will be back to try more wing flavors!! read more

I'm not sure how to rate this post. I think their bartenders and wait staff are incredible and knowledgeable regarding their work, but the menu has become so expensive that I'm not sure I'll go back. I'm not sure of the reason for the sudden nickel and diming, but it's too much now. I understand that businesses can't give everything away, but when you've been going there regularly for years and this happens suddenly, you've gotta wonder what's happening. We're not bad customers, we tip generously, enjoy talking with the employees, and the food is good. I just think $90 for two sandwiches and four domestic beers is insane. read more

Absolutely loved my lunch here. The waitress was the sweetest. Iona was so personable and quick. The caeser salad and wings were delicious. My husband liked the Italian combo sandwich. I drove 9 hours on a Sunday from IL to TN for a work trip. I Specifically left at 1:30 in the morning so I could get into town to watch the Chicago Bears game (they sucked like always). I saw the name Windy City and took a chance that it was a Chicago themed bar and maybe I would be able to watch the game. I felt like I hit the jackpot. I walked into what I can only describe as the perfect atmosphere to watch a game. Bears signs all over the bar, a ridiculous amount of TV's and staff was extremely friendly. Great selection of drinks, food was amazing and people were great! I had a great time. Back patio was great. I was also there on Nov 10th (Marine Corps Birthday) Some very nice people ended up picking up my tab! I HIGHLY recommend this bar if you are in the area. Not just Bears fans but anyone. read more

We visited Windy City today for an early lunch as our first meal of the day at 11:00 am....pretty hungry. We've been here at least a handful of times and have enjoyed the food. I always get the Italian Beef because it's that good and my my husband feels the same about the Patty Melt. The fries are great and I like the Cole Slaw. Today we decided to try the Burgers for the first time....which is the last time. We like our burgers Medium Rare. I asked the waitress if the medium rare were cooked pretty well and she said they were (Yes...I realize this is subjective when it comes to beef especially). We decided my husband would order his Medium and I would go Medium Rare to test their method of cooking for future. I'm posting a pictures of both. My Medium Rare was inedible. My husband's Medium was also raw but he ate it because it had an egg on it and he was being a sport. I took one bite and couldn't. When the waitress came to check on us I told her it was raw. She said "Ahhh" (..like "oh that's too bad") without asking what she could do to make it right. No, I did not ask her to take it back. When she came back a second time I pointed to the inside of the meat on both burgers and asked for a box for mine so I could cook it at home (I told her this) and still no offer made for a resolution. Not good and surprised that their staff isn't trained to resolve the issue early on. I'm not a rude person so didn't make a fuss but I am not anxious to go back, at least at this point. I recommend at least Medium Well but probably Well done do be in the safe side. This is hard though because who knows if their cooks are are the same page. read more

I really really want to love this place. I've tried. But honestly, it's so inconsistent that we avoid it unless we're more focused on having a beer than great food. We haven't had meat cooked to the right temperature in our last five visits. Not the hamburgers. Not the filet medallions (which are not even medallions). One visit they actually served me my lava cake cold. The wait staff aren't rude but they also aren't friendly. They all seem miserable to be there. The parking is horrible as well. The lot can be completely full but the restaurant will only be half full. They've graveled some area for more parking but my low car can't do gravel so I often just have to drive off without being able to go in. If you want a neighborhood sports bar and grill to stop at and have some beer and soft pretzels, this place will do just fine. But don't go expecting too much other wise. read more

First off, Im a recent Chicago transplant to Knoxville. I was told about this place by a few people, so I had to make the drive to try it. I obviously got the Italian beef sandwich, but was disappointed. It wasn't Portillo s, but I suppose that's to be expected. Cool atmosphere with Chicago theme and the service was great. It was about 30-45 min from me, so I probably won't be back soon, but may check out what else they have in the future. Maybe watch a bears game in the fall. read more

This place was average at best. Did not look at all like a Chicago eatery. I ordered a Caesar salad and cup of french onion soup. The dressing was good, had the anchovy flavor. The soup was ok but I have to be gluten free, (celiac) told our server and to eliminate all croutons for that reason. As I ate my cup of soup, found a big chunk of wet bread in the bottom. Love this place! It's right by my house and always a great visit. Some of my favorites here: Wings, sweet potato fries, their Mai Tai is my go to cocktail! Service is excellent too! Started going here because the staff really made my wife and I feel "at home". Cold beer. Good food. A little pricey but worth it. Lately though, management has raised beer prices and last time in there, they served it in a plastic cup. No more cold glasses. Little things make a difference, like one soap pump in the bathroom for people to share. The owners need to stop cheaping out, or some us will continue going elsewhere sometimes. Stop focusing on the profits. They'll come if you keep people happy. This was a "must-go" for my fam and our friends every Friday night. No so much, now. read more

We've tried this place twice. The Chicago sports bar atmosphere was fun. The first time, our party ordered several burgers, sandwiches, etc. The food was okay--nothing horrible, but nothing that wowed us, either. The second time (several months later), the food and service were horrible. Two of our entrees were cold and totally unappetizing. The server acted as though we were bothering them when asking for beverage refills, etc. We also noticed a distinct libtards-can-go-to-hell type of attitude from some staff, which did not help the dining experience. Between the server's demeanor and that other sentiment, so we didn't feel comfortable asking for replacements for the problem food. We will never go back. read more

The food is great and so is the server Lindsay. However, the girl with the dark hair that stands there like a statue when you walk in being useless is not so friendly. Her and the pregnant server Ashley D. have personalities of a handball. Let's go back to the pregnant server Ashley... she took our order and never came back again.
