I generally do not like eating red meat, though I will occasionally enjoy a hamburger. We also go to Parkside Grill because my husband loves their Sunday Pot Roast. In the past, I have ordered their pimento cheeseburger. I've also tried several chicken dishes, but every once in a while I want a hamburger. Over the couple of years we've been going to Parkside Grill, I've ordered the pimento cheeseburger three times, including today. Only one of those times did I not send it back. I prefer my red meat cooked completely well done no red at all. Not medium well, but fully well done. This is an almost $18 dish. The second time I ordered it, I sent it back and requested a new burger because I do not like knowing that the same burger was simply sent back to be cooked longer with all the pimento cheese and toppings already on it. Today, I reluctantly ordered it again because I was really craving a burger. I made it very clear to our waiter, Michael, that the cooks could "hockey puck" it as long as there was absolutely no red. Unfortunately, once again it came out medium well. My husband and I informed the waiter, and he offered to send it back to be fixed. He also apologized. He also said it it busy and there have been a few things that have gone wrong already. However, the last time that happened, my husband had already finished his meal by the time my food returned. At that point, I asked for a box so I could take it home and cook it myself. I ended up only eating the fries and bacon. That was my $18 meal. I boxed up the burger, left it on the table untouched, and thought to myself that I will not be returning again. read more

We went here for a belated Valentine's Day dinner. We got the spinach and artichoke dip for an appetizer, crème brule for dessert and I got fish and chips without the fries sub with cheddar mashed potatoes and green beans. I loved the side dishes with the meal but wasn't too impressed with the fish portion. It was a crumbly fish stick? I'm used to battered ones so I'll always compare to that and these just didn't do it justice. Solid southern cuisine restaurant in Knoxville. Its been here for years. They make an outstanding bread. The staff greeted and led us directly to a table, where we looked over the menu and reviewed many upscaled southern dishes. plenty of options and several are standouts on Yelp. I had the meatloaf stack. The savory gravy is a nice upgrade for this comfort food. I believe they added pecans to the butter for the baked sweet potato side. Ample serving size had many taking part of the their meal togo. The decor and seating are dated to the Boomer generation but that doesn't keep you from enjoying a nice meal. read more

On a trip to TN to see a friend sing. The hotel concierge recommended Parkside Grill for dinner. Place is super cute and has a nice patio. I'm not sure if there is seating inside other than the bar area. Tori was our server and she was incredibly awesome. Kind, great smile and very honest about me I suggestions! Just to start, I rarely give a 5 star review unless it is a fine dining restaurant and they checked every box. From the time I walked in to the time I left the service was outstanding here. I couldn't decide between a few dishes and my server recommended the spicy shrimp and chicken pasta. After I ordered she recommended the bread and I agreed. Wow, this bread is delicious. The middle is an airy pillow and they give you a delicious whipped butter.... it was heavenly. The bread has a nice crust but not too much to be hard, just enough to be chewy and delicious. This bread will forever be on my list to compare other bread service to. The pasta arrived quickly and I think I may have actually moaned at how delicious the sauce on this pasta was. Everything in this dish was perfectly balanced, cooked perfectly with just the right amount of spice. When we first entered we noticed how nice it looked. The fireplace was awesome (can't wait to go when it's cold out) & was greeted quickly. The ambiance of the restaurant gave off a nice place for family and friends to meet up. Even a good place for a date night. When I walk into a restaurant I look at what people have ordered to see what I might like. I noticed everything looked tasty. Our server was Adam, he was Amazing! Friendly & outgoing. We told him that it was our first time here & what would he recommend. He stated everything was good here , after a quick review of what I was considering he recommended Cilantro Chicken. I'm so happy I went with his recommendation. It was delicious. My mom had the soup of the day, Baked Potato and a house salad. The soup was delicious she said. Didn't feel like going far on my last night so stopped by the Parkside Grill as it was walking distance from my hotel. At 6 PM on a Wednesday night, it was completely packed with no seats at the bar. Had a large booth all to myself and while I came to eat a salad, I couldn't resist the meatloaf stack with two sides. I chose the cheddar mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. I also enjoyed the nice side of complimentary bread with a very large glass of pinot grigio. The food came out incredibly fast where I couldn't fill up on the bread and fluffy butter. It was a very large dish (which I guess is typical for the South!) and everything tasted really great. The meatloaf had this lovely gravy and fried onion strings. The mashed potatoes were excellent and the broccoli was a bit over cooked for my taste, but still really good. My server was very attentive and checked in to see how I was doing a couple of times. I've eaten here in the past and am happy to say it's still an excellent place to eat. I have a food allergy and they were glad to modify my meal to accommodate me. To start, the environment inside the restaurant is excellent. We were seated immediately and it wasn't loud or overwhelming like some restaurants can be on a Saturday night. When our waitress came to see us, we were pretty quickly ready with our entire order. The food was absolutely delicious but also seemed like they were attempting to maximize profit by finding the balance between how much people will pay for how little they will get. The cheddar mashed potatoes sound amazing but disappointed heavily. The fish was amazing. It's swai btw. The appetizer of potato skins is only 4. I'd like to give Parkside a shoutout for being able to accommodate 7 people on a Friday night for dinner with no sort of reservation. I wouldn't recommend doing that, as it was quite busy when I came by, but shoutout them for that. I ordered the teriyaki skewers, which were good! I picked green beans and broccoli as a side, which were fortunately not bland like I am often accustomed to when ordering veggies. They have quite a few selections for drinks too, so don't forget about that. My only gripe with Parkside would be the price - it was quite expensive and is definitely not a spot that most people can frequent. read more

We had not been here in some time. I found the food to be pretty good, although nothing inspiring or especially different. Server brought out a cold baked potato to one in our party, gave me the wrong veggie (but I tasted the green beans and they were so good, I didn't say anything and enjoyed them), and then mixed up our orders on the two tabs (two couples). No big issue but it factors in to overall rating, of course. There are many restaurants in this same category but I think they are very solid and would never hesitate to go here for a good meal at fairly decent prices. read more

We had a great dinner here last friday. No reservation. Table of seven. Seated immediately. Everyone enjoyed their food. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with no mayo which was good and didn't feel too unhealthy. Which made me feel ok about pairing it with the delicious onion rings.
