Beautiful indoor venue with its rustic barn interior and decor! My friend wasn't going to risk having a rainy day during her wedding, so the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception were all held inside the barn. The ceremony and cocktail hour were held on the first floor and the reception was upstairs (and yes, there are elevators). The only caveat is that there are only bathrooms on the first floor, so we all made multiple up-and-down trips throughout the night. There is also an outdoor terrace on the second floor (unfortunately, the view is... the parking lot) but it was a nice area to chat with other wedding guests on a breezy, late May evening. The dance floor area was a bit small for the amount of guests, but it ended up working out. The dinner was buffet style, and the food was quite good! The strawberry salad was tasty, but maybe a bit too much dressing. The mashed potatoes were very garlicky with the perfect texture (not too smooth, but not too chunky). The steamed vegetables (broccoli and carrots) were seasoned enough to be enjoyable on its own and with the protein. There were three protein options: chicken, salmon, and steak. The chicken had a creamy sauce with a red pepper topping that I didn't love. The salmon was seasoned generously, but it was a bit overcooked. The steak was seared quite nicely, cooked medium, and it was my favorite of all three proteins. Overall, the food was good for a wedding venue. This was a great venue to have a wedding! Customers should call and check ahead as the space is on the smaller side and it can be booked for an event and won't be open to public. read more

Our daughter got married here and everyone loved this venue. The only tiny complaint was no bathrooms upstairs except in the brides room but that was it. The wedding and reception were gorgeous and the staff was incredible. We had a medical emergency during the cocktail hour and the wedding planner Katie and all the staff handled it like pros! We HIGHLY recommend them. It was supposed to be an outdoor wedding but it rained so our backup plan worked out perfectly. The reception area upstairs is gorgeous. Book it you won't regret it!!! Beautiful venue. Perfect pick for the beautiful couple. Kind of small. Made for a more intimate gathering. The outside space is very cozy. They had outdoor games set up and I loved the fire pits on the deck. Created a romantic cozy vibe. The pictures I'm going to shared doesn't do this place any justice. 2 floors... and a spacious outdoor space. Attending a friend's wedding here on a Sunday afternoon, Sweeney Barn was a great venue. It's just off the highway, making it an easy drive from D.C. There's spacious parking. Sweeney Barn is a beautiful venue. This place is ALWAYS booked and you have to plan well in advance to ensure they have your dates. The staff has incredible assistants, whom which are very friendly and quick to help with anything that my wife and I needed. All of our guests enjoyed the venue and had plenty of parking for them and we had a total or 150+ in attendance. SB comes with a bridal suite, and half kitchen, and a large bathroom for men and women to utilize. The venue is split into two levels and you can stage them both however you like to make your special day yours. This place was modified from an old barn that was out of use and created into a beautiful venue. The grounds are well kept and its amazing that more people don't know about this place, but it is located in a somewhat random place. I highly recommend the use of this facility for your wedding plans if you're in the Northern VA area! read more

Backstory: We originally learned about Sweeney Barn (SB) while it was under construction. The renderings that they had posted were beautiful but at that time, the construction completion date did not work out with our timeline as we needed to coordinate venue/location specific details with our vendors. Just three months before our wedding date, our originally contracted venue (in Maryland) closed down. At that point, the construction of Sweeney Barn had been completed and the venue was open for events. We contacted them to see if by chance they still had our date available and we were so lucky they did. Today's Story: Love this place! Andrea, the General Manager, is so wonderful - she is professional, helpful, and just a pleasure to work with! She helped us from the beginning to make sure Sweeney Barn was everything we dreamed for our wedding. I was so concerned that we would be upset on our wedding day that our original venue didn't work out but honestly as time went on throughout the process with SB, all of the memories of our original venue faded and everything at SB was so clear and made so much sense. It is the white barn I dreamed of. It is modern yet relates to its history. It has character. The space is clean and well taken care of. And by the way, the space is accurate to the original renderings but even more beautiful in person! All of our guests thought the venue was absolutely stunning. Some benefits of Sweeney Barn: their staff (yes, it is a big deal); their style (the barn can be transformed for many different looks); things to do nearby (Farm Brew Live - in case your guests are early); close to hotels; the ability to do an indoor or outdoor ceremony (or use all of the spaces); some decor and game rentals (included); catering kitchen; floor plans (also helpful for coordinator and caterer use); elevator; projector and screen (instead of paying a dj extra); air-conditioned barn. We could go on and on about how lucky we were to have Sweeney Barn as our venue. You can tell that Andrea and Kathy love what they do - it was such a pleasure to have them as a part of our very special day. read more

Recently attended a wedding and were concerned about how Covid compliance would be handled. There was a great system with wrist bands that made it easy for all guests to self identify comfort level with conversation, etc. Everyone wore masks. Seating for the service was in small family groups and the decor was simple and so elegant! It was a "balmy" fall day and a cocktail hour was set up outside. The trees in color provided a lovely backdrop. The dinner upstairs had plenty of room to space tables and keep the number per table to small numbers. The chandeliers are awesome. A covered outside space upstairs allowed even more space. The DJ reminded guests that wearing masks was essential on the dance floor. The backstory on the barn and it's current owners is something. Knowing about it makes an experience there even more memorable. read more

We just celebrated our daughter's marriage last month at this amazing venue! It was such a wonderful place! Our guests ranged from young children to family and friends in their eighties and everything in between. It's hard to find a place where everybody in that diverse a group can celebrate and have a good time. Sweeney Barn proved to be absolutely perfect for this and there was something for everyone. Our guests were able to spread out and mingle in 4 different areas so it never seemed tight for space despite our large crowd. The dance floor was hopping all night long with plenty of room and we were able to set up 3 bars so there were no lines for drinks. The Barn is truly gorgeous and immaculately clean with every detail one could ask for and plenty of lovely photo op places. I thoroughly enjoyed working with Andrea. Her obvious experience, responsiveness, professionalism and courtesy made the organization process actually pleasant. All in all Sweeney Barn was a fabulous place for our celebration and I'd give it 10 stars if I could! read more

Perfect Rustic and Elegant Wedding Venue in Manassas! We just recently partnered with Sweeney Barn to help coordinate weddings. I have to say that this venue has a rustic and yet very elegant feel to it. The venue has been carefully renovated and offers multiple spaces to host a beautiful wedding, a quinceanera or any other social or corporate event. I was impressed with the level of planning and the flexibility of Andrea, the venue manager. I love that there's a space for the bride to get ready as well as the possibility to leave decor the night before the event.
