Hurricane Deli is a Local east ender favorite - Not a touristy Yelp haven. In fact they wear any 1 or 2 star Yelp reviews as a badge of of honor - literally posting the best of the worst reviews proudly on their wall of fame. Haha. What that means is they are out east and people are lucky to have a good year round place with always fresh food, plenty of staff to keep the line moving. Five years ago my son a slave to Yelp reviews and always getting top reviews came out here for the first time. Couldn't believe the proud post ups of 1 star reviews. The Hamptons sometimes draws grouchy travelers that don't reflect the different pace or gratitude people have for a reliable deli. They do a good BEC SEC and coffee and lunch sandwiches. This is a great New York deli. Fast pace working, fresh food and a good location. My dad raves about this place and it is usually packed. They have a nice food display of premade stuff. My dad enjoys their muffins. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese. The wait wasn't too long. And the food was not very expensive either. Especially for the location. But the sandwich was good! This is the platonic ideal of a local deli. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The signage showed that the place has a sense of humor. There were a lot of customers who were on a first name basis with the staff, which is a very good sign. My wife and I split a turkey hero. It was enormous and excellent. The man who took order realized that we were splitting the sandwich and threw in an extra container of potato salad. I would be very happy to be a regular here. read more

I ordered a bacon, egg and cheese on an egg everything bagel and it was amazing! These guys did not disappoint. I told one of the guys at the register that I was going to grab an OJ, he then told me my bagel came with an OJ and even showed it to me from behind the register saving me a small walk. I thought that was really nice! As I was waiting for my bagel I started seeing some of the reviews they printed near the register (LOL) and I was really blown away by how some people out there really have the audacity to take advantage of technology by putting up their personal biased opinions that have absolutely nothing to do with the food or the business but more so personal attacks. A lot of you out there feel like your professional reviewers out there who are really "helping out" your community by voicing your opinion but really your just trying to get back at a small business owner by being nasty is what your being. The reality of the situation is you would never address these "issues" with the owner directly and you use these websites as an outlet for your anger but say your "helping" others but your not, your just a troll. I would love to take the time to correct misinformation I saw in the comments; 1-It's often considered acceptable for small businesses to close a few minutes early due to factors like a lack of customers, family emergencies, or the need to prepare for closing. Legally, a private business can close at any time as it is not against the law. While it may be frustrating, closing early is typically a financial decision to save costs and a last resort, not intended to be rude or misleading. However what I did see over and over again in the comments was the following, no matter how apparently "rude" these men were the food was amazing so with that being said, here are some tips and tricks to avoid this from happening to you again in the future: Plan Ahead: Try to visit businesses at a reasonable time before their closing time to avoid any issues. Show Compassion: Understand that for small businesses, closing early is often a difficult, last-resort decision. Keep an open mind: Another scenario may be if it is a family business and they have a family emergency, what else are they supposed to do? Wait until ____ can come and cover their shift? Get real. Private businesses are private businesses, just because they operate in a public sector, doesn't mean they have to appease every Tom, Dick, and Harry. They have to do what is right for them. 2- I kept seeing the lines "don't bring up politics." What does this have to do with anything? I came here to get my B.E.C and OJ...I mean really, we live on Long Island- this is such a vague statement to say. I wouldn't bring up politics anywhere because it can get really heated really quick - that and religion. 3- I kept seeing the lines "old men" and "rude." I don't know why people feel it's ok to attempt to try to insult these guys by attacking them by their age (?) but THAT is rude and bottom line is this WTF DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH THE BAGEL? WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH THE QUALITY OF THE BAGEL? Wasn't that the whole point of the FOOD review? If you're going to take the time out of your precious day to leave a review, leave one that actually CAN HELP PEOPLE WHERE IT COUNTS...*THE FOOD.* Let me break it down to you like this, here's what I care about when I'm looking for a B.E.C (bacon, egg and cheese); *clean establishment (this place was clean) *great quality food (this was great quality food) Let me tell you what I genuinely dont care about when looking for a B.E.C; *wether the guy making my bagel is a republican or a liberal *is he going to smile and tell me to have a nice day *his age I mean in a perfect world would I love the person who makes my bagel to maybe give me bestie vibes? Sure. But I don't need it. These guys weren't rude, they were working. Their establishment was clean. I was more than happy with the quality of the food. I used to love this place but it has seemed to go down hill. I find it's gotten dirtier and dirtier over the years. The staff is rude and yells at you to move up or get out of the way. The people are great there and give you a good Long Island deli experience hahaha.
