I went the other day to get a case of beer and some whiskey. I went to checkout, and I heard the staff talking about some politics loud enough for all the customers to hear. They kept insisting on taking my case to the truck. I told them several times not to, but they kept pushing it. I paid for it, so let me have it. I went with my boyfriend the other day and it was a very uncomfortable experience. The Owner kept following me in the store pretending to look for stuff whilst glancing at me constantly. If someone said "I want you to make a business with the best possible service", that'd be this Wine Districts. I really can't think of a single way for them to make it better. When we walked in, we were greeted and offered a sample of a brewery's beer. While we were browsing the beer selection, three different employees stopped to ask us if we needed help. When we had picked out one six pack and were working on a second, an employee offered to talk the six pack off our hands and hold it at the front counter. The same thing happened again with a different staff member when we were looking for our 3rd. (Mind you, this was on a Saturday with lots of customers in the store. It was impressive!) When we went to check out, it was quick and easy, and imagine our surprise when the employee took the box of beers for us to walk it to our car for us. All around amazing service here (in addition to a great beer selection of local options!) (If you're larger in body size or need accessible walkways, though, this is not a great spot. The aisles are TINY and someone else passing next to you will lead to touching skin. Since browsing alcohol selections tends to mean standing and looking at a selection, this can feel overwhelming with constant "excuse me" requests pretty quickly.) read more

Very friendly place with a large selection of beers and liquors. Not so much a place to find the bottle of wine you like. The place is tight to walk around as they really have stuffed as much beer into the place as they can. Which is why it's a great idea that they have two or three members of staff walking the floor, helping you find what you need. They will also carry your purchases back to your car. Another great benefit as parking is quite the premium here. If my local is out of my favorite beer, I know that I can come here and pick up a case. But then I usually get a six pack of something new, so I get more and more :) You couldn't ask for better owners. They've set the bar high for other liquor stores to follow. read more

The service was great. I don't know anything about liquor and was just picking up a wine for my dad as a gift to my mom. He didn't give me much to go by but the staff were able to help me find a good bottle that my mom liked. I also felt very comfortable in the store as it had a nice welcoming ambiance. We were suppose to stop at Smothie King, but that didn't happen at all. Wine District is well worth the Money and we LOVE Great Amazing and Very Knowledgeble Customer Service. Also, we live in the high way robbery County of Montgomery, but not for long. Frederick County has the BEST prices ever!!! Thank you so very much for turning a one bottle sale to several. At least three conversations while standing on line to pay, including my own, involved people being corrected about a product they were unable to find, that they did have. There is a little bit of just about everything. The huge selection make the aisles a little narrow, but that only results in funny conversations with patrons about how much selection there is. Now that they've settled into their space, the display cases are organizing things and the boxes to the rafters are going away. Great prices, great help, the owners are open to suggestions. read more

I love coming to this store because, they always have the most robust and unique offerings of wines, beers, and spirits. Despite, it feels a little tight and crowded when you walk in; you'll quickly realize there are a lot of great gems and finds in this store. I have to give my hubby credit for finding this place because, he's very particular about where he patronize for his beers. He loves beers that are distinctive and hard to find, and he takes care in finding businesses that cater to beer enthusiasts and connoisseurs. Moreover, he always becomes a regular when they treat him as a valued customer. Hence, the reason why we both are frequent customers. I've never felt like I wasn't welcome. In fact, I've felt very welcomed, and the gentleman that's always behind the counter register ringing customers out always has a friendly comment or joke. The selections are always on point, and usually if they do not have something that I'm looking for, they are knowledgeable enough to recommend something that is comparable. I was looking for Caymus Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon, and the saleswoman recommended Red Schooner by Caymus. Although, it's not exactly what I wanted (it's a Malbec but it's goes through the same process as their Cab. Sav.), it is by the same vineyard, and I cannot wait to try it. The staff has practical knowledge of having tasted their various products, and can speak definitively to them. I always go in with something in mind, and always come out with what I went in for and something new to try! The customer service is excellent! They will help me carry my items to the car, if needed! This is definitely my favorite neighborhood store to purchase wine, beer, and spirits. I've gone to other stores, and nothing compares to the selection and customer service. Harassed because they wanted to carry my small order to my car against my wishes , would not give me my purchase, despite my multiple requests to hand me what I bought. Made me feel extremely uncomfortable. Most people like this feature but If you ask to carry your own stuff ( there are sensitive cases where people do not feel comfortable being followed to the car ) you are ignored. I felt extremely uncomfortable being patronized by the clerks after I requested several times to receive my purchase only to be ignored and the man persisted he will carry to my car. I made it very clear I was uncomfortable and would rather prefer to have purchase in my hands. The whole crew just stood there ,and my items were not handed to me, the " delivery " person followed me to the car where I got my items. I understand customer service but when a customer says that she would very much rather have her staff and the staff refuses, it is not acceptable. Best place in town. The service is great. The staff is friendly and proactive. They helped me pick out different drinks based on the occasion and the food we were planning to eat. They always gave great suggestions. I like to drink tequila and my favorite is Milagro. The same bottle at other liquor stores are 7-10$ more then at Wine District. They have the best prices and a vast selection of beer, wine, and liquor. Best place in town. read more

This place is not Wine Districts as far as I can tell. The person behind the counter said that was under former ownership, and the store sign says Westview Liquors! I want to give this place 3.5-4 stars for the beer selection - it is amazing - BUT like someone pointed out 6 months ago, nothing is priced (ok, to be fair, about 1 item every 3 feet of shelf has pricing.) Boxes floor to ceiling had an ok range of liquors, but the wine range at Safeway is better. I guess I drove 45 minutes thinking this was a place that specialized in wines, only to find that it is a completely different business, using Wine District's google listings, yelp page and web site. read more

Love, love, love it here! Their craft beer selection is seriously amazing and they always have a new suggestion to broaden your horizons. Their wine selection is excellent and the recommendations there are solid as well. My husband likes the big brewery beers(budweiser, etc) and their pricing cannot be beat. You can email, or social media, a request to them and they will get it in if it is sold in MD. And they will help you carry it to your car. You cannot do wrong going here! read more

Used to be Westview Liquors. Honestly this was the most stressful liquor store I have ever been in, the boxes were stacked to the ceiling and the aisles were so jammed packed. The prices arent that great and they do have a decent selection of wine, beer and liquor but seriously the place gave me so much anxiety I am not joking when I say there were boxes 10 rows deep and all the way to the ceiling, so stressful. read more

So I stopped in today based on recent reviews saying the place was under new management. I agree that the place has massively improved. The store was stocked very well. The staff is awesome. They have a great selection of bourbon now. I like trying local stuff and they carry moonshine from Frederick's very own Dragon Distillery. I grabbed a bottle and so far so good. read more

A bunch of thieves. Scenario: I am at the store I ask an employee about the price of a bottle of champagne bc underneath it, the tag stated 29.99. She told me that it was the incorrect price and the bottle was $64.99. I paid - get home, check my receipt. They charged me $89.99. I call and explain the situation and they advise me to come back in. They tell me they will not refund me the 25.00 bc the price for that bottle is $89.99! I was like, "where in the whole row of bottles of champagnes does it state the price of this bottle is 89.99?" I go home and call again bc at this point I'm furious, bc I made sure to ask prior! I spoke with some lady, who did not sound sincere at all and she says she'll call me back the next day! Guess if I received a call back! Absolutely incompetent people and not at all customer-centric. The bottom line is, if a customer came and nowhere on there, where the bottles are displayed you see proper price, you provide a refund for the difference in amount. It is disgusting business and I'll make sure to tell anyone that goes there to beware! You can shove your $25.00! You were not worth the damn trouble. read more

Check the date on you purchase. Nothing like drinking a low ABV brew that's been sitting on the shelf for over a year.
