I had a birthday party to attend. Well two actually; a friend and my wife's, happy coincidences and all. Both being held at the same spot, 4:45p on a sunny Thursday. This is the story, it is not really about wine.. I crested the drive up to Stellas on the hill, truck's RPM held at 3000, four vehicles pass on the left exiting (3 full of ladies with short cropped white hair and the 4th a black Maserati entitled to the center section of the narrow twisting mountain road), edging my wheelbase close to the drop off on the right side. I arrive to Stella's on the hill to a 3/4 full parking lot. And (angel's singing) a prime spot opens up to my right, 3 more silver pumas leaving in a Lincoln Navigator. I pull in as they exit. An attendant comes up to my window informing me "we are at capacity", but 5 cars just left in the last minute I question, "yeah we are not letting people in" he replies. I explain the significance of both birthdays; "yeah that sucks for you man.." That's (shitty errhmm cough cough) fair, I think to myself, a business does have a right to refuse service. I text my spouse, and tell her I will have to abscond from the parties. "Dude it's hot and I had the worst wrap ever. Super nice view but you really aren't missing anything. If it wasn't for Dr Phil and the Enablers (the band), I would have already left." She tells me, and informs my retreating vehicle that I should grab a couple tables at Wine House. A short drive later, I park in the lot for Jimmy's down the street, the sign says I will be towed but 'Jimmy wouldn't do that' I mouth to myself. Wine house was 70% full with a private event being held in the interior space, NOT AGAIN I think. But the owner, sensing my confusion, politely ushered me out to a partially shaded double table in the front. My wife and 7 friends arrived minutes later. We had wine and ate little cheeses. The server even offered to replace my $15 Graham Beck South African bubbles with a $5 brown bag beer free of charge. Thinking, incorrectly, that I had wanted the bargain mystery beer, and not a light effervescence of brut wine dancing in my mouth, as I sat in the sun. We watching other parties on dates, 30-somethings having 'girl dinner', maybe an interview dinner for a nanny (?); it was a very fine evening. The wine was good. The owner of Wine House was attentive and visited the table twice, which was a nice touch. The crowd was good, sociable and attractive. Also they let me sit, while Stellas' didn't even let me park after 5 cars left. And Jimmy didn't tow me. read more

Friendly service, lovely atmosphere, delicious wine and super fun tasty nibbles!! The pesto and chicken flatbread is phenomenal, as well as their charcuterie board. Love coming here with the hubs for date night!! read more

Based on three visits past two years only during the summer. Average to poor customer service. One time an employee was standing behind counter, never heard us. Was texting on cell. When we let her know we were 6 feet from her, she slid a menu and said we could sit ourselves. We did....didn't feel comfortable so we left. There were two couples inside and one outside. Another time we came in, it seemed warm inside. I could see wine bottles were exposed to heat. Our wine was warm, red. That employee didn't know anything about the wines. Third time was late this summer and just looked like it would be similar to our other two visits. So, I'm not a wine snob but; Employees don't care about customer service Employees don't know about the wines I don't think the owners are present. I'm not interested in drinking wines from Argentina, Africa on and on. How about even a cheaper California wine. There are other options. read more

Had such a lovely first visit at the Wine House. This spot is super trendy and cozy. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, we opted for indoor as it's still early spring and they had blankets should you need one! My sister and I shared a flight and a charcuterie board. We chose 2 whites and a red - they were ALL fantastic and the charcuterie board had 4 types of meat, 3 cheeses, crackers, olives and grapes! Two stars is liberal, but we'll go with that primarily due to a cheerful demeanor. I'm trying to figure out how this place is rated as highly as it is. Lots of family & friends as patrons? Anyway, portions are extremely small. The charcuterie board is huge! The amount of food on it is spread out well to make it look like it is well covered. Not nearly worth the $20. I asked about the size of the flat breads & I was given an attempt to make a rectangle with both hands & asked, "About half a pizza?" He said yes, but I didn't think it was half a personal pan for $17 ($3 upcharge for gluten free). And the ingredients? I'm sure it wasn't a frozen pizza, but not too sure... And not too sure I wasn't overcharged for one of the beverages. Basically an overpriced appetizer establishment. Went as a guest of family & I could tell they were uncomfortable. read more

Cute spot! Nice location, not too far from downtown. Especially love the outdoor area with the fire pits. Solid wine selection and staff was really helpful with letting us taste some wines before committing to a bottle. I will say the last time I was here I liked their selection more, but it's fun to try different things from their rotation and you're sure to find something you like. Only bummer is they only offer flights on weekdays. We didn't order any food, but menu had a good selection from what we saw. Wish they offered desserts, as we came after dinner and wanted something sweet but our server was kind enough to give us some chocolate chips to pair with our wine lol. I went on a cool, breezy Saturday night for outdoor karaoke and was pleasantly surprised at the arrangements and the kj. I had a flat bread to snack on and sang several songs. Great crowd for the weather, great staff and some quality singers. I'm looking forward to enjoying more karaoke nights when summer decides to show up. I would suggest only one way to improve; that being staff sing on their nights off and the kj pull himself out of the rotation at 5 or more in the line up. I love to support staff that lets customers do the singing. read more

Such a fun spot! It's become a must go for me now when I'm in CDA! I was there for the weekend during my mid-winter break from Seattle and it was truly delightful. Came in for a tasting for my birthday... wasn't impressed. Super cute environment but wasn't impressed with the server... I wasn't told anything about the wine... she simply just dropped it in front of me (not saying a word)... While talking with the person I brought with me (also their birthday) the server had turned around to mention that their is a free glass of Rosé for birthday celebrations which is awesome but again; no information on the wine itself. There are better tasting rooms in CDA... cute for photos but that's it. Wasn't intrigued to order any of the food as there were rotting cherry tomatoes sitting in an open plastic container on the the cutting board she was using to prep another guests order. read more
