Now, expect things to be a little untraditional like the "burger" was really more like a veggie patty on a nut loaf with veggies and gravy. I was plant based for a few years so that type of food is normal to me, but living in North Idaho I could see some folk being a little thrown off. The concept is great, healthy eating and organic foods that you can feel good about putting in your body. The execution left something to be desired. My husband and I came here for lunch on a weekday afternoon after searching high & low for a restaurant that serves organic produce and healthy options. He has an auto-immune condition, and the menu is great for individuals looking for a place to support an anti-inflammatory diet. This is not a place for those who consider themselves big carnivores, but it is good for those who are vegetarian or vegan. Expanding their selection could make it more palatable for all, but for now I think the clientele who will embrace and enjoy the food here is limited. It might have been a bad day in the kitchen, but our food was so salty it was not edible. The food looked fantastic, colorful and full of vegetables - but it didn't taste good. We would go back because the menu is promising, but I would lean toward ordering moderate / minimal seasoning. We took the food to go, and it was much better once we mixed it with eggs and other veggies to dilute the amount of salt. I wish they would incorporate meat into the menu, such as organic free-range beef or chicken- but, that's less of a complaint and more feedback to the restaurant on how they may be able to broaden their audience. I don't recommend Plant Gossip for large groups or gatherings with varying tastes, it is not one of those places where everyone can find something they like on the menu. Other than our very salty meal, service was very friendly and relatively quick. The location is very walkable from DT CDA and the place has a nice vibe. Ordered the Thai salad to go. Took 20 min... for a salad. It was edible but it wasn't anything like what it said it was on the menu (all different ingredients). The peanut dressing was also pretty spicy which is not what I was expecting. I didn't mind it but it was odd on a salad. Was excited for a vegetarian place in cda, but it's nothing I couldn't make at home. I didn't like that the salad in no way represented what it said on the menu. It's a shame because it is so close to me, and I mostly eat vegetarian.. but I would not recommend. read more

This place is amazing!!! I NEVER write reviews but really wanted to support this great restaurant. My husband surprised me by taking me here, I read the menu, and I was so excited to see that they were all organic, gluten-free, and vegan! I was a little wary that they were raw/low temperature because we've eaten at raw restaurants before and they weren't very good but this place is next level! First of all the ambience is awesome, when you walk in everything is clean and fresh and very tastefully decorated, I love the large windows in the front, and the bar in the middle is great too! The menu selection is really good, we ended up sharing the Thai peanut salad, the Spanish burger, and the cocoa cheesecake for dessert (highly recommend!). Everything tasted absolutely amazing, I don't usually particularly like peanut dressing, but I couldn't stop eating that delicious fresh salad. Also, GF bread is usually dense and gross but this guy has found a way to make his gluten free bread not only edible but taste really good and have a nice texture! I love how we felt completely satisfied, but not grossly full and my stomach didn't hurt and bloat after eating like it usually does with regular typical American food. The service was also great, while we were waiting for our food to come out, they gave us samples of their homemade almond MALK which has a ton of nutrients in it and a chia yogurt. I would highly recommend the MALK, I believe they have some to buy and take home with you in jars, it tasted like a delicious milkshake, but not too sweet. At most veggie friendly restaurants, if I'm lucky a menu might have at most a couple items that are both vegan and gluten-free, or can be with a couple substitutions. And this might not necessarily be a healthy option--think veggie burger with gf bun--with the vegan and GF "tax" of course. At Plant Gossip, it was such a delight to look at the entire menu knowing I could eat anything on it, and the food is organic, healthy, made from scratch, AND we quickly found out--absolutely delicious, with good portion sizes. I had the coconut mealk shake basically a high quality cashew ​ mealk with banana and cinnamon My friend and I had the majic mushroom Scramble like a beautiful breakfast stew (without egg) with lots of flavor and a bit of spice. We also had the sweat potato chilli which was really yummy soul food. I bought the crack butter and you honestly can't go wrong with any of their nut butters. Next time I want to try their whole juices "smoothies" they use the whole fruit in the juices rather than removing the fiber from the fruit. This is a unique treasure in CoeurDAlene. Finally a place that wants us to have truely healthy food to eat.​ Cant wait till they extend there hours and to see what other tasty items they add over time to the menu.
