A great option for Napa. Our room had a big fridge and a microwave which was wonderful. It's a good location and overall it was exactly what we needed. The continental breakfast included yogurt, bananas, cereal, mini bagels, and pastries. The downside: after one night our lower backs were hurting, after two nights we were in real pain. To be fair we both have backs that need support, but there was just none to be found. I also thought it was odd that there was no coffee maker in the room. You can go get it at breakfast I guess, but their breakfast hours are only 7-10, so if you are an early riser that needs caffeine find or bring your own source. As others have said, the walls are thin and you can hear the neighbors conversations if they are being loud, our neighbor was an UNHAPPY camper and hearing him be such a drama queen was some added entertainment for us lol. To the lady in room four: I would be happy to buy you a glass of wine. And next time remember it's okay to have separate vacations. If your hubby is going to whine and complain you can leave his ass at home; you will have more fun without him. read more

I honestly didn't kmow what to expect prior to coming here because every hotel in Napa is about a million dollars a night for no reason at all... I was only in for a night and you wonder what could be wrong with an option as affordable as this? The answer is nothing. I enjoyed my stay here, the staff was friendly, greeted me by name and were very kind to me when I became forgetful with my key with 0 hassle. Probably one of the cheapest lodging options in Napa. Positive: +Good location - if you have a car. It's about 1.5 miles from downtown Napa, and 5 minute drive to a big shopping area. I'm so happy we found this Motel! When we arrived late on a Tuesday Night I was worried it the neighborhood was a little sketchy, but felt good about the quaint atmosphere of the Lodge, and Check in went quick, easy and friendly. Then I saw our basic little Room still wasn't too sure about it. But each morning we woke up in a comfortable bed with beautifully maintained gardens outside our window. We would walk to the Breakfast area in our comfy clothes for coffee and a complimentary little breakfast to get our day started. My Man wished there was a coffee maker in the room, but I enjoyed the stroll, the Napa Valley weather, and smelling the flowers. I will say, they need a FASTER coffee maker, sometimes a line would form! By the time we left on Friday I was smitten with the neighborhood, it was beautiful and close to everything we needed. Not a bad place to spend the night if you are just looking for somewhere to crash. We came up for a single night to attend Del Dotto's Barrels and Beasts Party. Trying to find a place close to the vineyard that wasn't super expensive turned out to be a hassle and a half. Enter Wine Valley Lodge. At a little under $200 it still isn't cheap, but that is definitely Napa Valley cheap. The good news is people paying that price point are still respectable people. It may look like a motel, but my dad spoke with a couple people at the free continental breakfast and learned that many of them are well-traveled, middle class people. WHY 2 STARS: The room was a good size and clean, so why 2 stars? 1. The AC Unit is pretty loud. Luckily Napa gets pretty cool at night so we didn't have to use it, but when we first arrived in the room, it was pretty warm so we turned it on. I can't imagine sleeping with that on at night. 2. Late at night (past midnight) someone started pounding on someone else's door. That person kept it up for a good couple of minutes. I know earlier I said that the people who stay here are pretty respectable, but it seems like we had one bad egg. 3. Half of the bed was damp. We returned from the Del Dotto party at about 11 p.m. and all I wanted to do was sleep. I was not a happy camper when I found out that half the bed was damp, but I was too tired to do anything about it. Since I was sharing a bed with my sister I had to sleep on top of two of the blankets so I wouldn't feel the wetness. Totally not cool. I'm hopeful number three was a unique situation because it is the main reasons I had to bump this place from 3 stars to 2. Unfortunately, I did not have the luxury of staying here... This review is regards to the management and reservations department being SHADY as ever. Short story, even shorter... Bottlerock Napa was rescheduled to COVID-19... And the dates got postponed to October. I went on Hotels.com and booked a room as soon as I heard... Was so excited, got my confirmation and everything. Yet about 30 minutes later, I received an e-mail from Hotels.com saying the Wine Valley Lodge cancelled my reservation due to an issue with my credit card. I call Wine Valley Lodge. RUDE, RUDE, RUDE woman on the phone picked up. I was polite as ever, and wanted to figure out what was going on with my perfect card. They stated that I need to reach out to Hotels.com, because they had the wrong rate posted, and they could not give me that rate because it was wrong, and it was not their fault. So pretty much this hotel didn't realize that there was a change in the dates of the festival, and they want to extort people for more money. That is completely despicable, and I would never want to stay here if I even had the chance. You should honor the price that was posted, and not try to lie to get out of giving someone the rate they paid for. SHADY BUSINESS, and I will be reporting this to the BBB. read more

So every since I booked this place a few months ago I have dreaded arriving. Normally I stay at a hotel chain, but as you know when you come to Napa places like that can cost 300 plus a night and who really wants to spend that unless you are on a beach. There were two couples on this trip and we arrived around 6pm on Saturday. Upon entering the lobby area I noticed it was very clean and nothing was falling apart. There was a nice younger gentlemen that checked us in, very friendly gave us some suggestions for dinner, etc. Our rooms were side by side. Upon opening the room we all were pleasantly surprised by how updated it appeared. Now, the bed was kind of strange as it was elevated and there is a window that looks out into the parking lot so if that is open then you are level with the parking lot, but there are shutter blinds that can be closed so that takes care of that. There is a nice size tv and under that in the cabinet is a really big refrigerator. There is a nice closet to use to hang stuff up. The were plenty of outlets in the room and lots of options for lights as well. The bathroom was a decent size, two people aren't getting ready at the same time, but that is okay. The water pressure was great in the shower, however, the shower could have been a bit bigger. Now, there is a window in the bathroom that is frosted, but at night there is a light out there for security so you do need to shut the bathroom door to make the room darker. The bed was good, although it was a bit springy for our liking, but there was no issue sleeping. The pillows could have been a better they were kind of small and thin. AC worked great and it was VERY QUIET at night so noise to keep you up. Now I do agree that you can hear through the walls a bit. I heard my friends talking in their room when I was in the bathroom, but with the TV on you couldn't make it out. But without the TV on in our room I heard every word. I even laughed and texted my friend to say I heard what you said. LOL. We didn't run into any smoking issue, but each room there is a white plastic chair out front of the door with an ashtray on the window ledge, so I could see that being a problem if your neighbor is out front smoking. We did stop in to see what the breakfast was and they has some apples, oranges and bananas. A few cereals were provided in a dispenser and a refrigerator had a good amt. of yogurt in there to take. They also has some prepackaged bakery goods like you would find in the store and of course coffee. All in all for $159.00 a night I would most certainly stay here again. It was clean, quiet and not outdated with old 80's furniture. read more

A solid 4 and a half, very impressed and still can't get over the fact even three weeks after the fact that we scored a room here (albeit significantly in advance and via Expedia) for about 80ish bucks a night during a recent visit for a wedding, when seemingly all of the other guests were paying upwards of 400 a night for comparably humble digs! Add to that the location was mere minutes (2-4 by car 15-20 by hoof) from thriving downtown Napa. Now tack on the facts that said room was clean, renovated and relatively nicely and modernly furnished, while the exterior completely retains its gloriously mid century Americana roadside motel un-renovated greatness. Also while the location is relatively hard by the highway it nevertheless still affords views of lovely Napa Valley mountainous vistas and gorgeous skies from seemingly every angle of the parking lot. Finally, the staff was uniformly sweet as pie and let us know that Elvis Presley Marlyn Monroe and other icons have stayed here during the course of its storied history. So, yeah this place is pretty awesome all around, even aside from the insanely low price, particularly comparatively that one can attain here. read more

Overall decent place to stay. We were able to check in 3 hours early and an hour late. The lady in the front gave us some wine tasting coupons (we didn't get a ton like others mentioned -- maybe 4-5 different places, but they weren't really close to each other). We also got 2 coupons for free appetizers at 2 places downtown. We didn't get up early enough for the breakfast that was served 7-10am (even though we were woken up several times in the morning from all the noise outside our room). We didn't use the pool either, but it was located right in the middle of the parking lot. Found this hotel on kayak 2 nights 3 days was around $320 with taxes and fees. Honestly it's a great place to stay if you're looking for an affordable place to stay that's near everything. What I like... 1. Super clean. That's the main thing I look for when I book any hotel room. Bathroom is really spacious and clean as well which is a huge plus in my book! 2. Room is definitely very spacious and comes with a mini fridge that actually feels cold (some places that I've stayed at the mini fridges are semi cold/warm?) and a microwave which is nice to have but too bad we didn't have anything to heat up haha 3. Staff here are friendly 4. Great parking 5. Breakfast is ok...(includes bananas, apples, oranges, coffee, milk, juice, cereal, and a few packaged pastries) but I mean that's what was expected, still nice that it's offered. I'm not sure what some of the other reviewers are used to, but I think this is one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. I refused to walk barefoot on the carpet, the pillowcases were grey and the walls were so thin that the man snoring the the room next door might as well have been in bed with us. There was a piece of mop in the moldy shower, so I'm hoping that this was a sign it was cleaned. She said her shower was moldy. The motel offers free breakfast. Not bad. Typical fare like yogurt, cold cereal, packaged Danish, bananas, etc. There's a espresso machine using Starbucks coffee beans. I am ABSOLUTELY a fan. They let us check in early, gave us a whole bunch of coupons to use for wine tastings (complimentary for 2 and some 2 for 1 coupons) and coupons for food (free appetizers, etc), gave us maps of wineries, maps of downtown and where we can park, etc. The lady at the front desk just gave us so many things and it really helped us plan out where to go/what to do/ where to eat. They have free breakfast until 10, but didn't wake up early enough to try it. The room is a good size, bed is nice and clean and quite comfortable! Room includes a mini-fridge and microwave. Bathroom was ok- shower floor was so dirty, but I didn't use it so oh well. Distance to downtown is about a 5 minute drive. Super close. I don't know if i'd walk, it's totally do-able though, maybe if i were wearing more comfortable shoes. I would definitely stay here again. OK. So for Mr Brutally Honest's birthday gift, I thought a trip to the Napa region would be in order. I'd never been and it'd been well over a decade since the last time he'd gone. Plus we had a flight voucher we needed to use, so off we went. I chose this hotel based on location, others' reviews, and cost. The room was smaller, but decently appointed. There had been some recent renovations made (the bathroom for example was newly remodeled), but it was clear that the property itself was older. The room was clean, and there was free wi-fi, but connectivity was rather spotty at some points, and downright inaccessible at others. We had a microwave & mini-fridge in the room, so that was a plus. They also provide complimentary bottled water and continental breakfasts in the mornings, which was pleasant. They also have a hook-up with a local winery touring company, which I cannot even possibly recommend (please refer to my review for Napa Winery Shuttle). But I digress. My biggest grievance -- as always -- is the bed. It was, as usual, too dang hard! I don't understand why there can't be a middle ground between sleeping on a bed that seems to be about 100 years old, and sleeping on a bed that is only marginally harder than the floor. *sigh* My other point of complaint was the water pressure. As in there was none. Not that it was the hotel's fault; there was a water tower within view of the hotel, so obviously water pressure seems to be an issue for the area. Still it doesn't make me any happier to know that, when I'm trying to rinse the shampoo from my hair in a trickle of water in the shower. Also, the toilet made a most horrific sound when the tank was filling; again, probably had something to do with the water pressure. Finally, the location. It was quiet enough -- being in a residential zone, but we were next to a rather unsightly empty lot on one side, and apartments on the other. I'm happy we were on the the side with the empty lot because I'd read some unflattering reviews about the rooms next to the apartments, so I'd recommend that if you stay here, you ask to be put as far from the apartment side of the hotel as possible. But as I said it was quiet, and we were not disturbed, which is all that really matters to me. The location is fairly close to the downtown area and a drugstore, as well as a small strip mall down the street, so we weren't wanting for anything. Overall, I think if you're looking for a quiet, low-cost place to crash at the end of a long day of wine swilling, this is a decent place to try. You know, this is a very quiet place to sleep. It's in a residential neighborhood and you'll drive right by it if you blink. I haven't stayed in an actual motel since I was a kid. We had room 9. Parked right in front of our room. nice king bed, glass shower, closet area, Fridge, microwave and an iron with board. I loved that both sides of the bed had multiple outlets, to plug in our many devices. Bed was comfy, breakfast area was never busy for us. the coffee wasn't as horrible as I've read in previous reviews. I just need something to get me started...Starbucks is down the street. Simple continental breakfast. Cereals, yogurt, packaged Danish, fresh fruit and Jimmy Dean croissants with egg and sausage for the microwave. Only 2 small complaints. The lady at the front, was a bit testy, but we did arrive at noon and I knew we couldn't check in yet. No biggie. The air conditioner in the room got a bit loud at times, but I actually got used to it and could sleep thru it. Great price for the room and it was very quaint and cute. The description matches the experience at this little lodge. We experienced a quick check in with a very friendly attendant and were given directions to our room. The unit was clean and had a decent enough amount of space for a weekend trip in wine country. The bathroom was a bit dated, but you can tell they have stayed on top of renovations and have done a great job at making the rooms cozy. We experienced a quiet night's sleep and woke up in a quiet little lodge setting. We didn't partake in the complimentary breakfast as it was outside of our dietary preferences (pastries, cereal, toast, etc), but it would have been suitable for anyone needing a kick start to a day of wine tasing. The Wine Valley Lodge is a really nice, affordable stay in Napa. My boyfriend and I paid $110/night which is a steal when you look at the prices of other hotels in the area. It is a no frills, just the necessities, nothing fancy type of hotel. The staff is very friendly. They gave us recommendations of wineries in the area to visit when we checked in. Rooms were really clean with a microwave, fridge, but no coffee maker. The WiFi worked amazingly well because there is a WiFi extender in the room. They serve a traditional continental breakfast between the hours of 7am-10am, which consisted of breakfast sandwiches, pastries, cereal, yogurt, and fruit. They serve Starbucks coffee which was a delight. All rooms are on one floor, so you are able to park right in front of your room. This worked out great for us because we didn't have to haul our luggage through the rain. There is a pool in the center of the property so all rooms have easy access to it. The hotel is located really close to downtown Napa and the Napa River. If you would rather spend your money on wine and wine tasting than luxurious Napa hotel rooms, defiantly book here. read more

Staff is friendly, but the room was nothing to write home about. My sister gifted Cal and I wine tasting tour tickets when we got engaged, and they were about to expire. So, Cal and I decided to have a nice dinner and spend the night in Napa the night before our tour. Poor Cal was super sick by that time, and it was too late to cancel the hotel and the tour. He was such a trooper, and drove us up to Napa. We had to cancel our dinner plans because Cal was exhausted, and ended up ordering Pizza Hut (another review to come on that place). The rating is with respect to what you get for the price you pay! DONOT expect a luxury stay like B&B or Hilton here. Remember, its a small lodge/motel, but will be satisfied with whatever basic amenities it provided, and most importantly clean rooms with clean bed sheets and towels. My hubby and I stayed here last night. For our very short one night stay (11pm-6am), this hotel was perfect. Of course I Yelped all possible hotels in the area, but it was hard to find any that would accomodate a one night weekend reservation (even the more well known spots were booked). I received a reasonable rate on Priceline. After securing my reservation on Priceline, I called the hotel see what type of room we'd be getting. The lady I spoke with was very professional and friendly. Upon arriving, the front desk staff was very friendly too. Our room was clean, the bed was actually pretty comfy. There was water in the fridge and the AC was perfect for the warm evening weather we experienced. The bathroom was clean, no signs of mildew or mold and everything worked just fine. The room and bathroom was definitely remodeled at some point, so it had an updated feel. We had a hot air balloon ride to get to way before 7am, so we missed out on the continental breakfast. Luckily there were many places in the area to grab some snacks and such. Next time I visit Napa/Yountville, and if on a very short stay, I would definitely stay here again. Cheap Motel in Napa. It was exactly what I expected. It was clean enough to make me feel more than comfortable. I was only staying a night while traveling for work. The room was clean with some updates and included free wifi that worked well enough to watch Netflix on, a fridge with two free bottles of water, and an updated TV, which is really all I needed. I would stay here again if I am just passing through. It is not a resort (which I was not expecting it to be for the price). If you are looking for a fancy vacation place, look elsewhere. But if you are just looking for a place to rest for a couple days, then this place if exactly what you are looking for. read more

My friends and I recently stayed at the Wine Valley Lodge for a girls weekend in Napa Valley. We were not prepared for what we encountered. We realized before that Napa was not going to be cheap, so we settled on the WVL because it wasn't the cheapest one we found so we figured it would be decent, was a mile from downtown, had a pool (which we later realized wasn't relevant because it was chilly) and on the drop-off route for the Evans shuttle from SFO. We were prepared for it to be older since their claim to fame was that Elvis and Marilyn Monroe had stayed there once. What we were NOT prepared for was the chair in the room having an odd stain on it (see photo I uploaded), springs popping out of the beds, spiders crawling on pillows, and shower water that took 15 minutes to heat up. Believe me - I am not a hotel snob by any means but this place was disgusting! They did stock the fridge with new water every day to help with your wine hangovers, but our fridge didn't keep the water any cooler than sticking it outside in the cool California air. The hotel also promised a free breakfast...but, this may not come as a shock to you considering all the other wonderful amenities this place had to offer, but it sucked. My friend and I went for an early morning run and stopped by starving to get some food before a wine tour and left heartbroken with only a few rotten bananas. Their coffee machine was pretty fancy, and made decent coffee. That was the only perk. Also - it is 1 mile exactly from downtown (I GPSed it on my run) but keep in mind the mile is all residential and seemed quite shady. The 3 of us were scared to walk at night after we saw several potential creepers dressed in dark clothing and cars bumping up and down with hydraulics...we couldn't help but think we accidently booked a trip to Boxed Wine Country! So overall, we were pretty disappointed in this hotel. Make sure you are ok with all of this before you book your stay at the Wine Valley Lodge. I warned you! read more

Wine Valley Lodge - Chair in room - Hotels Near Me - Napa, California

This place is perfect for a couple that isn't expecting to spend too much money or time in their room. We came here on my birthday and were just using it as a place to stay, not as a place to really hang out all day. The room we stayed in was very small but was clean and had a brand new tv and granite countertops in it. The walls were very thin and we could hear the people talking in the room next door, but it didn't really bother us too much. There was a very nice complimentary breakfast which was much better than I expected. It was filled with bagels, frozen breakfast sandwiches, cereal, yogurt, orange juice, and coffee. The location was about a mile from downtown and was about a $9 taxi ride to the oxbow. It took a little more than 20 minutes to walk back after we'd had a little too much to drink so it wasn't too bad ;). We came here looking for a comfortable, CLEAN place to stay and we were very happy with this place. We'd definitely stay here again as it is affordable and comfortable and was just what we needed for my birthday weekend in Napa. read more

Normally we stay in Santa Rosa cuz it's the best pricing via Priceline for wine country... but w/ Food and Wine Affair event going on, I could not get a win at all. This is a first 2 star win for me, out of desperation after using all my free rebids.. and well, yah it's 2 stars... If you're 6 ft tall, you probably will be caustrophobic in the shower... you are enclosed in a cave, and the ceiling probably might clear your head by half a foot. I left the shower door open just so to get some light into this cubby hole shower and not to feel like a total mime in a box. The room is clean but shabby, the joint is very dated... remote didn't work w/ the tv and one bed light wouldn't turn on. Didn't bother mentioning to mgt, so this is just more an fyi on how well they are running this property. Priceline win, 2* Napa. This place is cheap enough on their posted room rates, so don't bother trying Priceline on this one... book direct. read more
