When I say this place smells musty, I mean it in a good way. Think old dimly lit bookstore and you'll get the picture. I was looking for apricot brandy and they had it. The staff is friendly and helpful. They don't have Pappy Van Winkle in stock, but they can get it for a price cheaper than I can get. I shared my knowledge with the cashier about Wheller and how it was made by the same mash as Pappy. She let me know she learns something new every day. I stopped in this morning 3/9/24 . I was going to make a purchase and had a question about the days allocated bourbon. I simply asked how many bottles they received and was told by the elderly lady employee that it didn't matter because I wasn't in line . This made the other employees laugh . my experience was bad , the employees were rude. i chose not to buy because of this and went to there nearest competitor. I won't be coming back . I recommend the Enon drive through , much nicer people and a much cleaner store . read more

One of the best selections of craft/micros in the state. Plus you can mix any 6 pack based on per beer cost. Wine selection is also excellent and diverse. Not just a bunch of high prices wines but some great value to price(QPRs) - Oregon, Spanish, Italian, off-appellations from CA; good Washington state and all the other major regions. Excellent spirits selection also. I found Makers new offering, "46," Highland Park 12 plus a small be excellent selection of other spirits. If you don't see it on a shelf, ask because they keep a lot of items in back and behind the counter. Back to the beers... I've never seen this many bombers in one place. I'm sure some mega-beer stores somewhere has more but this is in a small town. I've found Double Arrogant Bastard along with all Stone Brewings offerings, Orkney Skull Splitter, bunch of Dogfish Head, Flying Dogs, tons of German, Belgium and on and on... Wine works deserves five stars and more. I come here frequently--its probably my favorite location in all of Springfield. The micro-brew beer selection is superior to the majority in Columbus and Cleveland. The staff are friendly, extremely well informed and eager to help. What I really love is the enthusiasm they bring to knowing about and selling great wine, beer and liquor. The prices for the wine are very reasonable (as opposed to the grocery stores where you only get wine at an appropriate price through fake "discount" prices that really just bring it to its real value). I know someone mentioned that they charge a fee to use a credit card and felt that this is a big ripoff. They now require that purchases be $10 or more to use a credit card. I know this is inconvenient but I work for a small local business and they often lose 5% or more of their profits to the fees forced on them by credit card companies. If you bring cash or simply buy $10+ its a win win for everyone---support your local businesses! Again, couldn't love this place more!! read more

In Springfield visiting family, and decided to stop by to pick up some beers to share. The place was laid out fairly well, and had a pretty good selection of craft beer. I also liked the fact that you could mix and match any beer in the store to create a mixed sixer. The staff was very helpful and seemed pretty knowledgeable. I was informed that they had a cellar where they had some aged beers. All in all, the place was a nice find. read more

Some of my favorite Colorado selections are even regulars here... Avery, Lefthand, Boulder Beer... a fine selection. After coming to Ohio I was pretty disappointed in most of the liquor stores. I am not sure if it's the stricter laws or whatever but pretty much all the places I've been to have a small selection of the same old stuff. Wine works is an exception though! I drove past it a couple times thinking it was wine only but they have beer and liquor as well. There was a decent selection of everything. They even have some boulevard which is our favorite! I ended up getting some beer for him and wine for me. The employees were helpful, friendly, and fast. I only had to wait in line for a short time even though it was pretty busy in there. I don't often drive out to Springfield but when I do I'll make sure to stop by again! read more

This is as good as it gets for Springfield, Ohio. Wine Works has a good variety of craft beers, wine, and liquor. I noticed during my last trip that they sell Boston Stoker coffee beans which is great. If you are going here on the weekend/holiday, the parking lot is probably going to be full. Many people park in Cassano's parking lot and walk over without trouble. This is the only place in Springfield with a good selection so I can understand the crowd! Wine Works is one of the finest liquor stores I've ever had the pleasure to visit. They have an awesome selection of beers, wines, liquor and brewing supplies. The staff is super friendly and helpful. If you can't find it, they will go out of their way to help you and if its not in the store, they'll do whatever they can to get it for you. The prices are very competitive with even the big box stores (though the big boxes can't even come close to competing on selection) and better than several other liquor stores I've tried in the area. I really do like their policy for allowing you to mix and match beer packs ... perfect when you want to sample many different flavors without having to commit to a whole four or six pack. A friend recommended Wine Works and it was a great find. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but was pleasantly surprised when I walked inside. I went for the craft beer, and found some great brews. You can mix and match single beers, and the single prices are very reasonable. It's a great place to try to some new brews. They also have a full wine shop, and if they don't have what you're looking for they are more than willing to order it in for you. They also have a very good liqueur selection. I'm not from Springfield but I'm happy to know there's a legit place to get good craft beers whenever I visit. Though I didn't venture over to the wines, I'm guessing their selection is just as good as their beer selection (everything from trappist to tart ass cherry beer). Prices are about what you pay anywhere else. I believe they also sell cigars and coffee here, which is cool and all, but not what I stopped in for. They even have a small homebrew section in case you're in an emergency situation where you need a hydrometer (never). One kind of weird thing that I noticed was that probably half of the six packs had missing beers for reasons I can't figure out. Is Ohio a "pick six and go" state? If so, that shit's pretty cool. Also, in the cooler, there was a large number of beers on the floor that had fallen underneath the bottom shelf almost like the shelves aren't properly spaced apart from each other. read more

Walked into the store and was immediately amazed at the selection and was happy to be there checking this place out for the first time. They were busy too! Told my husband this must be the place to be! But wasn't there 10 minutes when I encountered one of the employees. She couldn't see me smile at her from behind my mask as we passed each other. She didn't say hi to me or greet me as someone should a customer. She did however point to me and say, "Gross." I don't care what your customer is wearing or what your personal views are you should never ever be rude to your customers. I have never been someplace and felt so disrespected and treated that rude. I looked at my husband, told him what happened, and said I was going out to the truck. He was in line looking to purchase something behind the counter. Proud to say that he walked out with me, without his purchase. If you're ok with employee's being rude to their customers then by all means shop here because it is like a candy store for adults.
