The owners of Winfield's retired, and this location is now Huffmans's. I used Winfield's for both repair and new purchases for over 13 years. If I was rating Winfield's, it would be a 5 star plus!!! But I am very unhappy with the new owners, Huffmans, which is getting this 1 star review. I went to Huffman's to purchase a new gold necklace and for repair of earrings. Dallas County has been under a mandatory mask order for months. But Garrett, who works at Huffman's and previously worked at Winfield's, was not wearing a mask. When I asked the very helpful and nice lady why Garrett did not wear a mask, she didn't know. I left and will NEVER go back. The lack of respect for a local ordinance and for the health of customers is unforgivable. read more

We had some annual recommended work on my wife's diamond ring a few months ago. We were new to the area and were referred to Winfield's by some friends. It was close to where we live and worked out great. They were very nice and knowledgeable. Called us and said they had to trim the diamond down for some reason. It was a $5k diamond and I was a little surprised but went with their recommendations cause I know nothing about jewelry and diamond care. When we got the ring back the diamond was loose. We were told it was normal and that they had taken really good care of the ring. Well, today, the diamond fell out and we have NO IDEA where it is. We've searched everywhere. My wife is crushed. Thank goodness we have jewelry insurance on it. I will never be doing business with Winfield's again and not recommending them to anyone. read more

Took my $900.00 Valuator Chronograph . watch in to have battery replaced again, Jack replaced battery. I ask if you would replace the rubber gasket , Jack said it did not need to be replaced, He said he just kept the one in that was there. Within 6 months my watch stopped running, took it back for battery check, Jack said battery was fine, however gasket was trashed so he puts in a new gasket and charges me for it. After giving my watch back he said the movement was inoperative. I told him how I had brought the watch in last time for battery change, so now why was it all of a sudden not working? He said send it back to the factory which he said they would probably only charge me an additional $350.00 dollars for a new movement, In good faith I said, Jack you did not replace the gasket the last time and now the watch is ruined. I told him I felt he should replace the movement that he caused to be destroyed, his continued response was "it's not my fault, its not my fault, and refused to fix the damage which he caused do to faulty craftsmanship. I told him, "being a long time customer here, and now because of your attitude not wanting to take responsibility for this damage you caused you give me no choose but to discontinue with any future business with you or your company. He responded "sorry about that and parted company." If you care about your jewelry or watches I would strongly suggested going anywhere else to do business, of any kind other than "Winfield Jewelry, Richardson Texas"...they are losers' and they will take your money and will not guarantee their work, buyer be ware, its up to you. read more

We just moved to Texas and this was one of the first places we went. My fiance needed a few watches fixed and they took great care of him. I went back to get cleaner for my engagement ring and the lady(assuming one of the owners) said it was $6.5. I was getting out my money and she smiled and said $6 is fine dont worry about the $.50. Its only $.50 but it was the kindness that I appreciate. We will be making them our permanent jewelery store. They also sell Pandora which my future mother in law loves! read more

Several years ago I took my one and only piece of jewelry to them for resizing. I bought the ring because it had 8 diamonds in a channel cut on a square face and one large one caret diamond in the center and the diamonds were super clear and bright! I'm not a jewelry person but couldn't resist because of the super bright diamonds. It was very, very expensive when I bought it approximately 35 years ago. When I got it back, all the diamonds had been switched out! I couldn't believe it! Since, the diamonds weren't documented there was nothing I could do. The stones were cloudy and milky looking, they looked like cheap pieces of glass. I was speechless. read more
