I've had my eye on Eaton's for a long time to do some custom jewelry work for me with gemstones I brought back from living overseas. But a more pressing problem finally brought me in store - I broke my half marathon bracelet that I wear on a daily basis. It's delicate and required the services of a proper jeweler to repair. (Head to the double glass doors on the ground floor and take the elevator to the second floor.) I was greeted upon entry and advised a woman of my dilemma. I came upon Eaton Custom Jeweler after visiting 2 other jewelry shops. I originally wanted to resize my engagement ring. The first jewelry shop was good but when I gave them my ring to work on, they texted me saying that my ring has a crack and that's it going to cost more money to fix and resize. I was very upset because two of their associates examined my ring prior and didn't mention anything about a crack. I couldn't trust them at that point. The second jeweler quoted me double from the first jewelry shop...then I found David!! He was very nice and answered all my questions. And the cost was very reasonable and affordable. My engagement ring is a tension ring and I know from time to time, I'll need to fix it again because the diamond can get loose from everyday wear. Knowing this I wanted to take my diamond and make a new ring and recycle my platinum band into a simple band. I love working with David and his staff. 4 years ago he designed my engagement ring from an old ring my mother in law gave me and I recently wanted to redesign it again because I wanted it to match my band that is gold. Wifey take wedding rings in to get resized, based on yelp reviews, is told she should really have the prongs replaced and they can do it, just like it is. JUST LIKE IT IS. Says should take up to a week, but no more - they will call us. 9 days later, *we call* - it's ready. We go in. Ring now has a 6 prong setting, when originally it was 4. Prongs are bent unevenly around stone, prongs are huge globs on top of stone, and no crossbars underneath. Wifey almost blowing a gasket. David states this is better and more secure. Problem is he never acknowledges is that he changed the design of the ring without asking. This is his problem he created. We take it home, for an hour. Then we go to 2 other jewelers. Both state "politely" the work is less than good (their words) - so I have to go home, find pics of what it used to be and what we want. We do what I think is the right thing and let him fix it. Go back with pictures, and other mount pictures, he says he will custom make and fix it. Another week. We pick it up, now back to a 4 prong at least. The stone is crooked. Off by about 5-10 degrees, enough to notice. Stone not centered left to right, and angles on prongs front to back are different. Gold near base has holes from air bubbles and not filled/polished out. From a "custom" jeweler. At this point - I'm just over it, we will take it to someone who cares. Don't know if this was a case of the $$ was too small to really care, but if that's that the best he can do when it was his mistake to begin with - he should be ashamed. read more

Can't say enough great things about this place! They were able to resize my engagement ring same day and you would never know it used to be almost 2 sizes bigger :) After getting it resized the ring was still moving around on my finger more than I was comfortable with, so I brought it back to have them take another look. They were able to add sizing beads to the bottom within 20 minutes and now it fits perfectly! I will definitely be back when I need a jeweler!
