Just got off the road and this place was 5 min from our Air BnB. You can tell this place is always busy on Friday nights. As soon as we ordered a gang full of other people followed right behind us! I ordered the traditional wing meal with jerk sauce. My girl ordered the cauliflower wings with awesome sauce. They forgot to put the awesome sauce on her wings so she was upset immediately! They fixed it right away though. My wings were ok, I like my wings on the crispy side so I would've had them leave my mines in the oven a lil bit more if I had the option. Fries were just fries but you can elect to get some sauce on your fries, I'm just not that type of person to eat soggy fries.

The sauce on my Hot AF was good, not unbearably hot or anything but it had a good kick, the plain ones had a nice crunch to them.

They only accept cash and they are a take out only establishment. I just happened to be in the area and decided to try out a new and upcoming place nearby. They have a very large menu so there's plenty of options for every one Parking is no problem and the parking lot is secure and well lit I took a few minutes to peruse their menu. I ordered a few classical favorites like chicken wings with fries and also a catfish dinner with macaroni and cheese and steamed broccoli. I was excited to see a variety of kool-aid on the menu so I had them mix up two cups of their most popular flavors. It took a little while for my order to be ready but I didn't mind since they cook everything fresh. After about 25 minutes, it was about to go down! I took my order to my car and opened everything to see what I was working with. My chicken and fries were blazing hot and smoke was wafting from container. Same with my catfish dinner. Upon inspection of the chicken and fries, I noticed that I only received 3 wings instead of four. The owner came to window and apologized and promised to take care of the issue right away. He came out with my new order and even threw in an extra wing for my troubles Everything was so tasty and seasoned to perfection. The macaroni and cheese was cheessin' and the broccoli was crisp and buttery. The fish and chicken tasted like something you would get from Big Mamas kitchen. To say I was pleased is an understatement. Do yourself a favor and stop in and try them out. I promise you won't be disappointed

I started with the Toucan Sam drink which was the only rum drink on their menu of specialty cocktails. It's a really good drink that is slightly bitter due to the campari and toasted almond bitters. For food, I was craving a burger but I visited on the wrong day. I chose the Thai style wings and a carne asada taco. Wings - the wings were decent but I got tired of eating them after the first 2. The thai peppers that it came with were not very spicy at all. The meat was also a little challenging to get off the bones for some reason. Taco - I enjoyed this better than the wings, even though this was smaller. Service was decent but not perfect. I was already ready to leave and then they asked if I wanted another drink. They were about 5 mins late since the bar area wasn't actively manned during a majority of my visit.

While it definitely is on the pricey side, we are very happy to have dined here tonight.

I had a great dinner at Freya with my parents last week when we were visiting Detroit for a few…read moredays. I was drawn to Freya, because my mom is vegan and neither my mom nor my stepdad had ever experienced a tasting menu before. The cool thing about Freya is that it's a five-course prix fixe with omnivore, pescatarian, and vegan options for each course. (They also offer a 9-course tasting menu for omnivores and a la carte dining Tu-Th.) My mom is vegan, and my stepdad mostly eats seafood, so Freya was the perfect place for all of us to enjoy a tasting menu. The menu changes regularly with what is seasonal and fresh, so what we ate won't be what you eat even if you went tonight. But I can say that I enjoyed everything I ate, with some dishes being standouts among the courses. Across the board, their food was creative and fun and still (it's got to be) delicious. At $95/person, I felt it was a great deal for the quality and inventiveness of the food. I also loved that guests can choose from several options (no chance here of getting a course that just isn't something you'd choose were it not on a tasting menu!). I left more than full, so I didn't find it to be too precious or the courses to be too small - definitely enough if not too much food for a tasting menu! I also chose to do one of the wine pairings. They offer a wine pairing for $60 or an elevated wine pairing for $98. I did the elevated pairing, and I thought it really added to the experience! On top of all of this, the service was spectacular. Every single person who touched our table (from the host who seated us, to the two servers who were assigned our table) was friendly and helpful and chatty in the best way. They explained each dish in depth but quickly enough that we weren't starving and dying for them to stop so we could get eating! The service is probably what I will remember about our dinner at Freya, as much as any individual course. The restaurant is cool and modern (kind of hidden from outside (just a small decal on the glass door tells you you're in the right place), and the ambiance was great. We left full and happy, and I think my parents really enjoyed their first tasting menu experience. It's easily the best tasting menu with flexible options for different diets than I've ever been to, and the experience overall was really nice (that service)!

I personally prefer the boneless wings here, but the bone-in wings are good, as well. I have tried more than half of the sauces and rubs currently on the menu. The cajun dry rub and garlic parmesan are easily my two favorite. The new creamy dill pickle sauce is a solid option, too. According to a member of the staff, the sauce's contents are a secret. There are also a couple lemonades on the menu that are quite refreshing. The flavors are blue raspberry and strawberry. Of these, I prefer the blue raspberry, but I like both. The fries here are above average. I recommend adding a dry rub of your choice to the fries. Dill pickle rub is a new option, and it comes with a side of the creamy sauce for dipping. The chicken on the sandwich can be sauced or tossed with any of the options available for the wings. When the sandwiches were first introduced, there were only two options, so this is a notable change. Speaking of changes, I'm hoping my influence has some pull here. The teriyaki sauce, Carolina gold BBQ sauce, poutine, and honey butter hot chicken sandwich were all legitimately excellent, but are no longer on the menu. The poutine was taken off the menu due to a new set up all the kitchens have, but I'm at least hoping the sauces can be brought back. Regardless, DWC is my go-to spot for wings, especially for a big game. Make sure to check out the game day deals to get the best bang for your buck!
